TEs Klopfenstein and Byrd, StL (1 Viewer)

Any thoughts on Klopfenstein and Byrd both drafted by StL?

Klop went at 2(46) and Byrd 3(93). Some think Klop went a little too early, and the Rams traded up to get Byrd when he fell toward the end of the 3rd. Pre-draft, both Klop and Byrd were rated pretty closely, depending on who you read.

With Manumaleuna shipped off to SD, one of these guys will start. HC Linehan has stated he will use the TE much more in the passing game than the Rams have previously as Linehan teams have in Min and Mia. In TE-required leagues the starter looks to be a possible 2nd round dynasty rookie pick if we know for sure who that will be.

Thoughts?

Both are solid players. Neither will ever be a star.

My guess?

Klopfenstein starts and becomes a serviceable fantasy backup. Byrd serves as the #2 TE and puts up similar receiving numbers.

Byrd is the better receiver, but Klopfenstein will probably be on the field more.

Klop is considered more of a blocking tight end who can be used in an H-back type of role. If I were to pick either for a fantasy team, it would be Byrd. I'd probably avoid both.
