Screw these sanitary executions, bring back public beheadings!

Ohio inmate Dennis McGuire appeared to gasp and convulse for roughly 10 minutes before he finally died Thursday during his execution by lethal injection using a new combination of drugs, reporters who witnessed it said.

Hell yeah. Hope it hurt.

the whole process took more than 15 minutes, during which McGuire made "several loud snorting or snoring sounds."

Seems easy enough to anesthetize a patient for surgery. Why can't they do the same for executions, then administer any number of lethal drugs once the dirtbag is unconscious?

Probably because they can't get any doctors (or anesthesiologists) to perform executions.

I fancy myself a bit of an amateur anesthesiologist. It's not complicated.

Look, we're killing these people because they've committed heinous acts worthy of being put to death. Round or two to the head seems plenty "humane".

If they are going to do it why not use a mask with pure carbonmonoxide? Knock them out with a sedative then gas them. That assumes the goal is a painless death. With the stuff they are using now I have no idea if that ultimately is their objective.

This is why the death penalty needs to be abolished. Im 100% for killing depending on the offense but if even one innocent person is convicted I dont think its worth it

Lots of people on death row have been convicted and let free. I think the count is 148 at this point.

I sort of wonder if they got LWOP if their cases would have gotten the same level of scrutiny?
