Thank You Terrence McGee (1 Viewer)

Terrence McGee has been the center of my IDP squad for the last 5 years. His points from return yards combined with his defensive stats have made him invaluable and he has helped me win several games over the years.

It looks like the torch for returning kickoffs has officially been passed in Buffalo and McGee’s time as a consistent high point producer is gone. Terrence, you have been invaluable to my team but the time has come for me to move on.

You may be right, BUT...He was practicing lightly this week because of a bad back.

Will I certainly benched him this week as I expected nothing from him what with his questionable status. Lets see him fully fit before officially handing the role over to McKelvin. It would only take a costly fumble for McGee to win the role back.

Looks like McKelvin will stay in the KR role for at least the near future:

Rookie cornerback Leodis McKelvin handled all the kickoff returns Sunday. That won’t change this week.

Jauron said McKelvin will stay in that role, at least for the near future. McKelvin averaged 27.4 yards on five returns, including a 56-yarder, against Oakland.

Terrence McGee would like to continue as the team’s top kickoff return man but understands why the change was made.

“He’s a first-round draft pick. He’s got to get on the field,” McGee said. “He can get the job done. He showed that earlier in the preseason.”

3-J.Brown kicks 67 yards from STL 30 to BUF 3. 28-L.McKelvin to BUF 40 for 37 yards (35-T.Johnson, 20-J.Wade). FUMBLES (35-T.Johnson), recovered by BUF-75-D.Preston at BUF 43. 75-D.Preston to BUF 43 for no gain (52-C.Draft).

Mcgee must really be taking the kick return job hard. He went from a top 25 DB to completely unheard of with no tackles today.

I know it's painful if you drafted him high (he was the 2nd IDP taken in my draft) but it truly looks like McGee has lost all return duties, making him about as valuable as Will Allen.

McKelvin will get the returns, but he's not a starter. He's the nickel, while Youboty will start in place of McGee at CB.

On the topic of Bills Special teams/McKelvin:

"Leodis McKelvin just doesn't look like a good kick returner out there. He heads directly to the sideline EVERY time and rarely shows the propensity to cut back. Maybe Bobby April is instructing him to take what he can for now, until he gets more comfortable, but this unit has been far from explosive this year. McKelvin's instincts just haven't seemed to be there, we shall see what he develops into in the return game."

From what I've heard from Bills announcers on game days, they've been pretty frustrated with McKelvin's play so far... maybe McGee will get back his KR duties?
