Well done. Phase 2 is Detroit...I think they have a chance. :scared: Maybe they play inspired for Jauron one last time. And phase 3 will take place in 14 hours just 5 miles from my house @ Arrowhead. I am calling 38-24 KC there. :banned: By 3:30 Central time, KC will be booking a flight to Boston to play the Patriots.

A couple stories I found VERY interesting............2000. The Detroit Lions were hosting the 4-11 Chicago Bears in Detroit in the last week of the season. Win and they were in. But the Lions blew a 10 point lead, and Paul Edinger nailed a 54 yard field goal as time expired to win it, eliminate the Lions and send the Rams to the playoffs. The Bears coach on that day? **** Jauron. ----------------------------------1998, last week of the season. The great Steelers under Bill Cowher play Jacksonville, get clobbered 21-3. It marks the first time the Steelers had a losing record and did not make the playoffs under Bill Cowher. The Jags defensive coordinator that day? **** Jauron.------------------------------------I am sensing a nice trend here...........how about one more for old times sake Jauron?

I love it. KC fans now have false hope for another day. I cannot wait to see it all get shattered tomorrow. Just know that it is sad when you are depending on **** Jauron and the Lions to help you get into the playoffs. :lmao:

By no means should you think I am emotionally tied to this team. I am only 26, but have been thru so many postseason and late-season failures....too many to name. But you know how it always goes........I can be critical of my team becuase i am a fan. When someone outside attacks, I defend KC. Thats how most homers are of any team.

Detroit 0

Pittsburgh 72

And that's only if the Lions show up ready to play.
:lmao: a Raiiiiidah fan hating on another team. Moss "I think Collins is a better QB than Culpepper".... :lmao: Maybe they could sign Culpepper in the off-season?

The Steelers have underachieved this year and should not be in the position to win to gain the AFC #6 playoff seed. Cowher will have the team stoked and I predict a thrashing. They have beaten the other NFC North teams. The only suspense here will be 1) how much Cowher drools/spits during the game, 2) if Bettis gets the ceremonial start, and 3) the Lions can muster more than 9 points.

Keep hope alive! :bag:I'd be shocked if the Lions can beat the Steelers, but the Chiefs should win.

What kind of logic is that? Teams that underachieve shouldn't be in the playoffs? I guess since New England isn't going to have a first round bye that they have underachieved and, thus, do not deserve to make the playoffs, either, right? What about Carolina? They were predicted by quite a few to be the NFC's representative in the Super Bowl and they might miss the playoffs. They should not be in the position they are in, either, right?

I'd be shocked if the Lions are not out of this game by half time.BUT...stranger things have certainly happened. When a dominant team HAS to win, and the opponent has absolutely no pressure...the odds and probability scales seem to kind of even out.A couple of timely turnovers that Detroit turns into points...and then the collar starts to get tighter, the favorite starts to press...and sometimes things seem to just avalanche.But....right now a Detroit win feels like the longest shot of the weekend.

Thinking the Lions will win today is a serious reach. Don't get your hopes up. I doubt Detriot will even turn off the ignition on the team bus in the parking lot. I doubt even Tommy Maddox at QB could blow this for the Steelers.Steelers 28Lions 10

The Steelers should not have lost to the Ravens, Jags, and (arguably) the Bengals or Pats. The team has underachieved, putting it in the position of needing to win today to secure the last AFC playoff spot."Deserve" has nothing to do with qualifying for the playoffs. The team should have locked up a spot (and a higher seed) prior to week #17. Cowher will use this as motivation and the Lions will get pounded like a cheap steak.

Hey Genius,Ever hear of Tommy Maddox? He is personally responsible for the Jax and Bal losses. The Steelers are a better team than their record shows and will be a factor in the playoffs.

If you are a hater, that's ok, there are tons of you out there in anonymous interet-land. Just don't try and spew your twisted logic on us, ok?

I believe you made my point. It is amazing to me how a thread about the Lions-Steelers game degenerates into a "discussion" about logic. I am not a Steelers "hater" - I live in Steelers land and have been a fan for life.

Have a good day.

Why should they not have lost to the Bengals or Patriots? Those teams have arguably had better seasons than the Steelers have had. This year's Steelers are not the same as 2004's 15-1 team. It seems you are assuming they are.
