**Thanksgiving Day - Green Bay 7-3-1 at Detroit 7-4**(-2.5, 49) 1:00 (2 Viewers)

I'll give Lions credit for finding their offense. Not a lot of teams will get 24 on GB, let alone in 3 quarters.
Injuries a big difference for Detroit. But perhaps moreso Parsons and a speedy Pack defense.

Detroit with no real shot at the division now. Will be rooting for Philly tomorrow and Pack to get the sweep vs Bears. (or I guess Bears to sweep) for playoff chances.
Fans will just have to hold their breath and wait for word about ARSB.

Honestly the DET OL is the story of this game. DET needs a better effort that this, and they were missing several starters. Until that changes, they’re not gonna win a lot.

The lack of pass rush was also concerning, but some of that was GB OL showing up bigtime. Love had forever to throw in a very clean pocket all day.

Campbell needs to have a little strategy beyond just go for it. It's gonna hurt way more than it helps a we've been seeing.

How could have know Goff would throw the ball behind Jamo a little and Jamo would drop it? Was a great play call.
Yeah, it should have been an easy 1st (Jamo drop) but it really shoulda been a TD (Goff choked the throw).

Exactly. I am not sure how any of that is Campbell's fault

Yeah, but what happened? Those dumb 4th down calls didn't win the game. Maybe playing smart would have changed the outcome

Taking the 3 in that score/context made the most sense. I thought it was a terrible decision.

No Green Bay excuted, Detriot didn't. Not because of the coaches call, but the players that played.

Right and because of that and how GB was playing he set his team up for failure

It's over though, I'm happy with the win. Campbell doesn't coach my team, so if that's what you want to see then he's definitely your guy.

Lol he schemed a wide open touchdown pass for failure.

I mean... a win would have been better than a dropped pass

Because they would have won if they kicked it?

They didn't win not kicking it

Look, great game. I don't hate Campbell at all, just think he has to trust the defense a little in close games against good teams. It's not gonna work taking those risks over and over. We're seeing that this year.

They barely stopped the Packers. It was a great call and a good pass is a touchdown and gives the Lions a better chance to win. He made a great call. The result was bad, but he doesn't have a crystal ball.

Fair enough. You are right if they make the plays it's a different conversation.

Let me ask you this as an MSU guy. Michigan or oSU*?

Michigan.

Coaching malpractice
Imagine if they had 3 more points.....

Plays out totally different and a lot less time on the clock.

Yeah, it's turning out swimmingly for you.

I play for the Lions?

If you did, you should block #1.

Dan Campbell has cost this team with his stubbornness.
I said last year that he was going to cost his team by being stupid stubborn, I was told by the Lions fans that they were ok with that because that’s his style.
Wonder how they feel now.

Read the thread. It was a great call. Please, oh please coach Campbell stop calling plays that have guys wide open for a touchdown.

I feel like he gave the Lions the best chance to win. The players didn't execute.

And your "I told you so" garbage is pathetic.

For sure. I feel like the offensive line was the most to blame for the Eagles game, but Campbell was a close second.

I don't feel like he cost them at all this game. The defense was god awful everywhere.

Nothing i heard about Parsons from the haters was true. Dude is exactly what i thought he was from the Dallas days.
I’m interested in who are the haters.

I hated him “being on Dallas”

And always thought you have to run against him to try to win.

But his game, what it is, is undeniable.

Obvious difference maker and you can see the results as an addition and as a subtraction.
Haters can be found in the Parsons trade thread and i know you saw it in the eagles thread. I'm not digging up names, but you can find plenty of critiques about his play against the run, the money he was paid, the picks given up. Green Bay throwing away the future, yada yada yada. Nobody with any sanity can hate his overall game, but there was plenty of debate on whether he was worth what the Packers payed and the "flaws" in his game. The answer is yes, yes he's worth every bit of it.

Ps fly eagles fly. Need to see an L on the bears today.

Lifelong Cowboys fan here. Right now I’m thrilled with the trade

Yeah, you guys look good. The rare win win trade. No reason either team should look back and find many faults in the deal. Still people were critical of the trade for both teams and from my side most notably i heard Parsons was a liability in the run game and the Packers would be somehow worse because of it. It's simply not the case, not even close. Hell i don't even think he's the highest paid non qb anymore (even if he probably still should be).

Eta. I should clear up i mostly meant haters of the trade less so Parsons talent, though as mentioned the knock on his run stopping ability was overblown.

Hutchinson sure does not seem like the same player he was before the injury. Did not know he was even in the game yesterday and looked like he was getting handled easily. Love had all day to find his guys and let plays develop.
