There's lots of great classic rock available, there's lost of great disco available, but there's only one Margaritaville.  Buffett is one of my favorites, and this is his signature song and biggest hit.  The relaxed studio version from 1977 is so much more enjoyable than the revved up version he does in concert.

"SALT! GOD #### SALT!"

Only you and the Greek system at Mizzou (?) know this part of the song.

Is this like a "Mony Mony"/get laid, get ####ed thing?

I am fine with sticking to the US release date rule...

I just don't think there are that many albums where the US release is much different than the UK release. It's weird that this hasn't come up (that I know of), actually.

I just don't think there are that many albums where the US release is much different than the UK release. It's weird that this hasn't come up (that I know of), actually.

oh it has come up. you weren't in the first 2 drafts we had. this comes up with a lot of singles. many singles were released in the UK, before the US, and many times this makes the year it was released different. the rule was made after TAN's drafted "Shout" by Tears for Fears. It wasn't released yet in the US in the year we were doing, but it had been released in the UK.

I agree. And I hate seeing an old song being picked that has no business in the year we're drafting.I'm not interested in seeing Chattanooga Choo-Choo in a '77 draft just because the ### -damned Andrew Sisters put out a live album that year!
