The 2008 Detroit Lions will not win a game! (1 Viewer)

I want to put this on record right now. Etch it in stone.

There's been a few others that have predicted this...

And because you all have "predicted" this... they will lose! :useless:

1-16...... Step away from the computer. Not because of the prediction. Because you don't even know how many games there are in a season. Are you Donovan McNabb by any chance?...and you call yourself a guru.

Embarrassed that he is from Detroit :penalty:

I wonder why nobody ever looks at this from Detroit's opponent's perspective? After all, who wants to be the team that lost to the 2008 Detroit Lions? The Lions are going 0-17 and deserve every loss.

The Lions will lose to the Saints by 20 or more. Then they will beat the Packers by 10 or more in Green Bay.
The Lions will win!I had 8 club level seats given to me for free. CLUB LEVEL!I gave them to my two daughters and her friends. My oldest has been to 5 Lions games in her life and they have never lost. Do you know what the odds of that are??Take it to the bank!

PM me your addy, we're putting you on the Christmas card list. :wall: Anyway, hoping one of you guys are right. I was getting killed tonight at the office party. Little easier to give it right back with the Pistons/Red Wings/Tigers...Nine years and I still refuse to switch allegiance; but I'll take the comp tickets and jump on the Giants/Jets bandwagon next month anyway.

The odds of that have to be like, what a billion to one?!?I was gonna say how could you to do that your daughter and her friends but I remember what it was like going to see the NJ Devils during their first few years in NJ and I know I never minded when my dad's friend got us tix. :goodposting:As for taking it the bank, you do realize how the banking industry is doing these days, right?-QG

Good luck, buddy. Actually, as a Saints game, this game concerns me. The Saints have twice ended teams winless streaks...Tampa Bay's 0-26 was ended by a victory over the Saints and the new expansion Cleveland Browns beat the Saints at home for their first victory. The Saints are out of the playoffs and could be in for a letdown. Detroit has been close several times this year: a 2-point loss in week 6 at Minn, a 7-point loss week 7 at Houston, a 4-point loss vs Chicago in week 9, an 9-point loss at Carolina in week 11, and another 4 point loss vs Minnesota in week 14. While I will be rooting for my Saints to win, this smells like a trap game to me.

When the Buccaneers went 0-26 (losing all their 1976 games and the first 12 of 1977) who got beat badly to break the streak?

Who dat? You know who dat. Saints have nothing to play for, the Marino record is pretty much out of reach and their defense is unimpressive. Detroit could very well win.

If the Lions finish 1-16 I'll fly the top 200 FBG posters to my wedding with Anne Hathaway.
Really Anne Hathaway
It was a random name but she's not ugly guy.
I will admit she looks good there. Airbrushing can do wonders.
You're nuts. She's not exactly on my laminated list, but if she wants to sprawl herself on my kitchen table, dinner WILL be served.

The Lions have been in turmoil ever since Barry quit on them. Get ready for the Tigers or jump on board the Red Wings band wagon. This is a lost franchise!

Tell me exactly what the Tigers did last year? Red Wings bandwagon of course, but the Tigers? Seriously? What have they done since lucking into the World Series (and then getting killed) 2 years ago?

I don't think any team in the NFL wants to lose the Lions who are the worst team in history. Look for Brees and PT to have a field day

I'd love to read a study on why people feel the need to make boisterous predictions on the internet. This game in particular seems to have sparked many such claims... I have also heard several tangible friends randomly announce the Lions would beat the Saints. Strange.

adding on to what a few others have mentioned...

Buddy Pat Yasinskas at ESPN.com unearthed a remarkable -- and ominous -- statistic this week. The Saints have played four winless teams that were 0-7 or worse in their history and have lost every time. The 2007 St. Louis Rams were 0-8 before beating the Saints 37-29 in Week 10. The 1999 Browns were 0-7 before upending the Saints 21-16 on a Hail Mary pass from Tim Couch to Kevin Johnson. It was Cleveland's first win since Week 16 of the 1995 season. The 1998 Carolina Panthers routed the Saints 31-17 to post their first win of the season after an 0-7 start. And the 1977 Tampa Bay Buccaneers notched the first win in franchise history with a 33-14 rout of the Saints in Week 13. The Bucs were 0-12 that season and had lost 26 consecutive games since joining the league as an expansion team two years earlier.

I predict you'd be unsatisfied with the results of said study.-QG

Well, I don't know who Pat Yasinskas is or what his claim to fame might be (other than apparently "writing" for ESPN.com), but he should brush up on his research skills. In 1992, the Saints played at New England when the Patriots were 0-8, and beat them 31-14 (three Bobby Hebert TD passes).http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxs...99211080nwe.htm
