Olsen injury is huge. Who steps up?Cam owner here. Thanking God I jumped on Big Ben as my backup QB.
just got an alert that Olson broke his foot.
They could bring Barnidge back to his old home if someone like the Texans don't sign him. The Texans were looking at him last week.Olsen injury is huge. Who steps up?
Glad we gave him more moneyCam owner here. Thanking God I jumped on Big Ben as my backup QB.

As far as I know all he went through all his workouts and nobody picked him upThey could bring Barnidge back to his old home if someone like the Texans don't sign him. The Texans were looking at him last week.
They didn't give him more money. They added incentives to his contract which he won't reach this year.Glad we gave him more money

no fans resent players wanting to get paid their worth like football fansKarma strikes.
He gets a first down and still gets up and trots 7 yards down the field and does his BS first down gesture. Meanwhile the play clock has started and of course he has to call a TO with 1 second. Told the wife that was coming and I hope we don't need that TO later in the half.Cam is beyond horrible today. 4 sacks and several throws 10 feet over the receiver. Worse yet we're back to the delay of game. I called the most recent one. Cam was loafing on the ground and took a swipe at an opponent. Told the crew here, watch, here comes a delay of game.
Let's see...Greg hasn't missed a game in nine years, and has never missed a game due to injury. Last season he became the first tight end in history to have three consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. He has helped many people with his foundation Receptions for Research. He was happy with the incentives added to his contract, which was fair to both sides. I don't think karma struck Greg.Karma strikes. They didn't give him more money. They added incentives to his contract which he won't reach this year.
I don't care who you put back there when you make it obvious you are forcing them the ball a good defense will make you pay. I also think we should all be well aware that judging a wideout in the first game they get any touches and after the guy makes a nearly impossible circus catch because the QB is throwing it ten feet over his head may be premature.Jayrok said:I still think McCaffrey will be fine. He has nowhere to run right now but he's had several touches that resulted in first downs and a nice catch for first down.
Having said that, I still say we should have drafted D. Cook.
And we wasted a second round pick on Curtis Samuel. Should've went DB or OL there.
OkYeah wasn't a fan of how Olsen went about his business this off season but to blame his injury on karma seems a bit over the top and silly.
What aspects of the Defense stood out?Ugly win. Huge loss with Olsen.
Defense: A-

Pass protection looked like last year's team. Matt Kalil, yeesh. Cam air-mailing everybody.

Funchess should be the guy to take up slack question is can he?Curious how you guys see this Olsen injury playing out.
They called up Armah. I can't see them trying to force Dixon's square peg in a round hole as a receiving TE. Seems like they'd either morph the offense entirely, or try Armah there.
He's had time....you guys know me. I told you he'd be a project. This is where the rubber meets the road. Hopefully he doesn't spin out.Funchess should be the guy to take up slack question is can he?
Let him run. Might as well be playing DAoof. Injuries are one thing, but I want 2015 Cam back. That was ugly.
He's playing like he's afraid to run.Let him run. Might as well be playing DA
He is trying to run the offense called. They made it clear making Cam run less was a point of emphasis this season. I think those of us who were worried about Cam missing so much prep time have been proven right. I think that was compounded this week when he barely practiced. This offense is a change and they have very little time working with Cam in it. And Cam has very little time working with them. This is also a problem for our new left tackle. It takes time to get used to where the QB is and where he is going to go when he makes his drops. One step is a big deal. You can't see him, you have to know through repetition. This is a team trying to do preseason in the regular season with a QB who is obviously still not 100%.He's playing like he's afraid to run.
Sick of all the sacks. Line can't protect him and he can't seem to scramble out of trouble like he used to. If he can't use his legs anymore, when do we start to look for another QB?
I agree that DA is not the answer. I'd rather have Webb than him, but that is another topic. Cam does look bad with the lack of reps in practice and preseason. He is trying to run the offense called. As far as the D goes I don't know what the excuse was they seemed disinterested from the first snap. Maybe it was the whole protest thing. Sounds like the locker room was kind of divided.
But here is what I do know. DA ain't the answer on offense. He has looked increasingly terrible for a while. Now there's a trade that should have been made before he hit the skids.
And I know if we don't find some way to get it together NE will humiliate us. Not best us humiliate us. I don't know if we can get it together enough to win but I hope we can at least not look like a Pop Warner mighty mite team that didn't get their favorite cereal for breakfast
The wide receiver thing is something else I meant to comment on. Why the hell is Funchess running deep go routes? You have Byrd and Samuel who are both way faster and should be running those routes not Funchess. That is on the Offensive Coordinator who calls the plays.I agree that DA is not the answer. I'd rather have Webb than him, but that is another topic. Cam does look bad with the lack of reps in practice and preseason.
NE will humiliate us if they play like they did yesterday.
The new left tackle is going to get Cam killed. I just wish Cam would escape the pocket when he needs to, like he did before. Yes, don't give him planned QB runs like he was a rookie. But he has to use his legs more than he is right now, imo.
Our WR are big targets, but they can't separate and that's becoming increasingly clear and a problem. Funchess had lots of targets yesterday, but not a lot of catches. Samuel had a nice end around, which was great. But not much else in the passing game. The bubble screens aren't going to work, especially when there's no down field threat. Course they aren't protecting Cam very well anyway.
I know we're 2-1 but barely beating Buffalo and SF aren't exactly confidence building. We have at NE and at Detroit coming up.
I agree with all of that, and I think the loss of Olsen is a big deal too. He was Cam's go-to guy. When the cats lost Benjamin during the Super Bowl run year they plugged right along, and Olsen was that glue that helped to keep everything stuck together. The cats have come unglued. Hopefully Benjamin's injury isn't significant, and hopefully the offense finds their groove. He is trying to run the offense called. Well from what we heard today no structural damage for Benjamin thankfully and I agree the Olson loss is a huge hole to fill for this offense. You just took a reliable 1000 yards of the table. Dickson is a good guy but he is no Olsen. And I really think they are using Funchess wrong. He isn't a speed guy he should be a possession guy. Working the seam and turning to provide a big target while boxing out the LB or DB. That's what he did best in college. Add all that to Cam's shoulder issue and all the missed practice time, recipe for failure.I agree with all of that, and I think the loss of Olsen is a big deal too. He was Cam's go-to guy. I'd rather both you and Newton work on correcting the putrid offense rather than social injustice. Rather than wasting time at Richardson's house discussing politics, how about studying some game film If you'd rather fix the social issues in this country, then quit playing football and run for office. I promise I'll vote for you.Munnerlyn said Panthers players, who play next on Sunday against the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Mass., might have missed their window.
“Last Sunday was the Sunday when everybody was doing their thing for the national anthem,” he said.
But Newton, one of the most visible players in the league, left the door open to a possible protest.
“It was popular to do something this past Sunday. But it’s still an ongoing situation in this country,” Newton said. “If we don’t do something to show people – not that come to the stadium and watch us on Sunday – but this is for something bigger than that.
“This is for the people that don’t have the opportunity to come to the stadium, who just hear about it. ... We have to be that type of voice for those people who don’t have the outlets that we may have.”
Rivera echoed Newton’s comments, noting it’s been more than a year since former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began kneeling to shed light on social injustice and racism, and it’s time to act.
“Let’s start talking about what this really means and how we can do things as an organization, as a community and start bringing closure to this,” Rivera said. “And start showing we are truly working in a direction to correct those things that everybody’s protesting against.”

Yes, it's time to act. The year of player protests during the anthem has everyone's attention. Stop it already and do something about what you're protesting against. Is there social injustice in North Carolina/South Carolina? Then organize events and gather supporters to show the local governments you are concerned and want something done about social injustice in those local communities. Are there struggling families caught up in dangerous communities that need help? Help them improve their quality of life.Rivera echoed Newton’s comments, noting it’s been more than a year since former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began kneeling to shed light on social injustice and racism, and it’s time to act.

Funny as a vet I love seeing people protest. Part of the reason I served is so they could as long as they do it peacefully. You know that whole freedom thing and all.Yes, it's time to act. Organize events and activities at local schools to highlight the importance of equality for all. Show that everyone has value and how everyone contributes to a socially healthy community environment. Tell us how and where we can help your efforts.
But what does all this have to do with the national anthem before you play a silly game? Stop this and start acting on what you want to accomplish. Continuing to turn your back on the anthem only makes things worse. Do you want to help your cause or do you just want to show that you're part of the trendy crowd while the cameras are on? Time for showboating to stop and for rich football players to start acting.
I expect the NFL man of the year for the next couple of years to be the player who fixes his community of social injustice and inequality.
And NFL... I hope you suspend your annual Salute to the Troops campaign this year. As a retired military veteran, I do NOT want to see armed services stickers on the back of flag/anthem protester's helmets this year. Thanks in advance.
I had a semi-lengthy response to this but decided to bench it after I heard about the shooting in Vegas this morning. I think I know a couple of people that were at that concert. I hope I'm mistaken and I hope everyone who was injured and/or effected by that horrible tragedy are going to be okay. My heart goes out to the families of everyone involved. Just so senseless.Funny as a vet I love seeing people protest. Part of the reason I served is so they could as long as they do it peacefully. You know that whole freedom thing and all.
He looked like 2015 Cam yesterday. Not so much the throws but he ran with a purpose. And he got down after the first down marker to avoid direct hits. Love that Cam. His legs are a weapon we need for him to use like that.8 for 44. You might think that's cams passing line but you would be wrong this week. Interesting how the passing accuracy went up with his rushing attempts. Release the hounds.
Brady should have been picked off once, and he made a few lousy throws. Cam definitely seemed less rusty, and more in sync with the offense. He is at his best also when he gets to use his legs some, which is a big part of how he naturally plays. Hopefully when Olsen returns, the cats will have a record that has them in the playoff race. Next up is the Lions, and their defense is much better than the Patriots. It is going to be a cat fight!Had the one bad throw but that stuff happens to everyone not named Brady. He actually outplayed Brady today statistically.
If anyone you knew was there I hope they came through all right. And my condolences go out to all the families that lost someone last night. My thoughts and prayers go to those in the hospitals may they make a full and speedy recovery.I had a semi-lengthy response to this but decided to bench it after I heard about the shooting in Vegas this morning. Let me just say that, yes, the freedoms in our country allow people to protest anything under the sun. I'm happy to have fought for that freedom. People on both sides of this issue (I mean just the protests and reactions to it, not the underlying causes/issues themselves) are free to express their opinions and demonstrate in a peaceful fashion. Freedom is great.
Yeah it is. Is this the first female reporter Cam has ever seen? No it isn't. The remark was stupid and yes sexist. You know this kind of blowup will be the end result. So even if you think that you have to have some common damn sense and not say it.Is this real life? Is this seriously where we are at in the NFL?
This girl is offended? Christ almighty

For starters sure seemed like a legit question to me. Second he gets interviewed after games by female side line reporters and they ask football questions on the regular. He stuck his foot in his mouth and then when given the obvious negative reaction in the room he didn't have the awareness to clean it up.LOL
For starters it was a dumb question, secondly who gives two flips how he responds? She is a reporter covering the NFL she may need to grow some thicker skin if this is the occupation path she is going to go down. How many times have we seen players bust on reporters for being fat, nonathletic etc? She is just using this to play the victim card. This whole entire PC business has just run way too amuck. Its not sexist if its the truth. He just said it was funny. Why is that such a big deal? Crazy world we are in now.
