I'm going to assume that High N Dry didn't make your list based upon where this one got slotted but I could be wrong here. For me HND was the best of anything they did.

Ugh. I know why it's here but I hate this album with a passion. Always have.
You are not alone in that thinking.

If this were my list Tesla's MR would be @1 but that's just me.So many really good songs it's hard to even pick one as my favorite but I'll go with Gettin Better by a hair.Keep up the good work
It's a testament to how good this album is that that is my least favorite song of the first four tracks.
Yeah I have to agree the entire album is just really good solid rock so it's hard to pick a favorite.Tesla is just one of those bands that didn't get it's due because of how this genre was viewed by critics and haters.Really good to see a bunch of you into them as much as I was.
I probably owned 98% of the albums in this list and there are maybe 5-10 total (including 2 I presume are still to come) that I will still pop in from time to time. Those 2 Tesla albums are in that list.

Psychotic Supper was also a pretty good album.Didn't think Bust a Nut was that great but it still was good from time to time.

maybe the best opening track to a Hair Metal album.
It's almost the opening track to hair metal itself.

Love this album.

Love both albums and have no problem with any of them being ranked higher than the other. I'd give Pyromania the edge just on the fact that it had more impact when it came out.

the greatest 2nd side to any cassette I ever owned.

the stretch with Red Hot, TYTFIL, Knock Em Dead, and Ten Seconds to Love was worn out of multiple copies I owned of this.

At the time, I would guess most of us found HnD after hearing Pyromania.

Just to throw this out, I really hated Poison,Bon Jovi,Warrant and later stuff from Def Leppard and Motley Crue so that's why I would rank the later albums they did a bit lower than most.

1. Guns N Roses – Appetite for Destruction (1987) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/60/GunsnRosesAppetiteforDestructionalbumcover.jpg/220px-GunsnRosesAppetiteforDestructionalbumcover.jpg

As it should be. Great work on the list... didn't agree with all of it, but you nailed the ending.

Maybe the best opening riff ever, and one of the best closing minutes ever too.

Yeah it's hard to argue against this as being the top.But just a reminder as to what he has turned into-http://ak-hdl.buzzfed.com/static/enhanced/webdr02/2013/5/13/15/enhanced-buzz-18537-1368474773-11.jpg

:D

I currently own 34 of these 50 CD's so it looks like I might need to do some shopping.

As a service to future generations for the past year or so I've been buying my 17 y/o daughter "my music" CD's. Along with the mandatory Pink Floyd, Doors, Zeppelin, Nirvana I've introduced her to hair bands as well:

Appetite For Destruction

Slippery When Wet

Pyromania

Out Of The Cellar

1984

Mechanical Resonance

She loves it all. Since that experiment worked, for Christmas this year she's getting the heavier stuff like Iron Maiden and Megadeth. That might be a little too much for her, but I'm crossing my fingers.

Good job!

While I obviously am not a big fan of the genre, I only owned about 4 on the list, I do remember most of the bands and it was fun reliving the time period.

...and my hatred of the songs. ;)

It was fun. Sorry I rushed it at the end here, but after today I'm off work until after the New Year and probably too drunk over the next week and a half to stay on top of it.

Just out of curiosity which bands were you into around this time?

I sided more with the thrash side so me liking any of this stuff was always frowned upon by certain friends but I was just into good music and some of the "hair' bands actually did produce some really good stuff if you can get past the image they were throwing out.

I would have tossed in Badlands first album as well as Y&T(In Rock We Trust)into the mix and maybe even some Loudness-Lightning Strikes. Also might throw a bone to Lita Ford.

I'll post my list when I get home but I think I had In Rock We Trust at #10. great album, as was Down For The Count.

OP must not have been a Y&T fan

If I had a redo I would. This started as the most un-thought-out thing I've done.
