I thought it would be fun to create a mock draft where all rumors were supposedly true. Unfortunately I don't have the time to do it myself but thought it would be fun to do this together. Some rumors may be in conflict with another so we have to discuss which is most likely to be true. Should we go with the most realistic ruors or mosty absurd? Here are some Raider rumors to get things started. I hjope this maintains steam...
Randy Moss to the Lions in exchange for back up quarterback Josh McCown, soon to be discarded wide receiver Mike Williams and a fifth-round draft pick.
If Green goes to Miami, the Dolphins would cut Daunte Culpepper, the Raiders could pick him up, and suddenly they no longer want to draft JaMarcus Russell.
John Clayton reported on ESPN2 Monday night that the Raiders want to acquire Daunte Culpepper from the Dolphins and then draft Georgia Tech wide out Calvin Johnson with the first overall pick.
Every sign points to Green winding up in Miami. Here are other rumors that I found on the net , many involving the Lions, but this would trigger a domino effect (sorry no links, there were too many, but include them to your rumors if you can).
Lions Asking For 5th Round Pick For QB McCown
Eagles Looking To Trade RB Moats
Briggs buzz: 5 teams are interested in Bears' LB
The one team that recently has begun to make inquiries about LB Lance Briggs is Tampa Bay
Chiefs Looking At First-Day RBs In Draft
An NFL source says the Detroit Lions will trade their No. 2 overall draft pick, but will entertain offers only from teams with picks 3 through 10
There have been rumors the Cardinals would like to acquire Faneca from the Steelers and reunite him with offensive line coach Russ Grimm and new Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt.
And it doesn't look like Larry Johnson is on the trading block, as some have speculated. Any team trading for Johnson would have to work out a long-term contract with his agent, and to date, there have been no contract talks with other teams.
One NFL source said he thought that there was a good chance RB Michael Turner still would be dealt before or during Saturday's NFL draft, though no deal is close to the front burner. There still are any number of teams that need a running back -- Buffalo, Green Bay, Tennessee
One team with an even more pressing running back need is the Buffalo Bills, who traded tailback Willis McGahee to the Baltimore Ravens last month. They have the 12th choice and could be in line to select Marshawn Lynch. They also could trade up in the first round if Adrian Peterson begins to slip toward the bottom part of the top 10.
The Kansas City Star is reporting the Chiefs have shopped running back Larry Johnson. According to the article, the Chiefs are looking for extra draft picks and have shopped or are shopping Johnson, veteran quarterback Trent Green and kick returner Dante Hall.
The Lions and Buccaneers are discussing a trade involving the team’s first round picks and defensive end Simeon Rice. In the potential trade scenario, Detroit would acquire Rice and the fourth overall pick in the first round and send Tampa the second overall selection.
Vikings Would go with Adrian Peterson at 7th pick.
Broncos offered picks in the first, second and third rounds, plus their first-round pick in 2008, for the Lions' No. 2 selection, a trade contingent on the Oakland Raiders not taking Johnson with their No. 1 choice.Lets start with the Raiders and keep a running list. If someone who has time can keep this rolling it would be great (wish i could).
I say KC won't trade Trent Green to a division foe until after the Raiders make their choice. By making the deal before the draft, they will basically let Oakland have both Culpepper AND Calvin Johnson. I don't think they'd want to face that twice a year. By not announcing anything, they will force Oakland to take Russell. After the pick, the trade is announced, sending Green to Miami for a mid round pick (which doesn't affect this mock draft). Does Moss get traded? Would it affect this draft? So...
1. Oakland Raiders - QB JaMarcus Russell
On the clock... Detoit Lions... unless you wan't to discuss this.
