Ok it's still very early in the season but it's never too early to pick out the players who just haven't performed to the level they should be performing at. The following is a list of my underachievers (after 2 and a half weeks) by position. Who do you got?

1b--It starts and ends with Pujols here. This guy was drafted # 1 overall in most leagues and is currently hitting a buck 60. The 3 hrs aren't awful but 2 of those came in one game.

2b--Brian Roberts was supposed to be a top 5 second baseman this year. He's starting to wake up a little and is finally hitting over .200. The power surge he had to start the 2005 season is a distant memory at this point.

SS--If Furcal can't steal, he's worthless. Right now, he's worthless.

3b--0 steals and 0 hrs for Ryan Zimmerman? Playing for the Nationals? The deck is stacked against him and owners may need to curtail their expectations.

LF--Manny with 0 hrs still? This has to change soon.

RF--Jermaine Dye had a breakout year last season. If the White Sox are going to contend, he'll have to carry them at some point.

CF--Soriano was drafted in the top 3 in most leagues. Batting leadoff hurts his value but he hasn't performed regardless. To make matters worse, he's now on the dl.

C--Most of the top catchers have performed but Varitek is clearly not the guy he was a few years ago.

SP--Carlos Zambrano is notorious for starting off slow so lets hope this is just a fluke. Perhaps he shouldn't have made the bold prediction that he would win the Cy Young award?

RP--After one blown save, Lidge has already lost his job. Amazing how fast a dominant pitcher can fall.

Ill add Cano to the 2nd basemen. He has done nothing all year after smoking the ball at the end of last season when he came back from injury

Um...Cano's been around .300 all year. Did you expect him to hit .340 again? He's got 5 RBIs, not terrible.

I'd classify Dye as having a career season last year. He'll never approach that again. While he is underachieving, I'd probably put OF's Berkman or Sheffield on there right now above him. Maybe you were looking just for a RF though.

Yup I considered Berkman but he plays 1b and I had to put Pujols there. I also thought about Sheff but isn't he dh?

I play in a H2H points league where he hasnt gotten me over 16 points. He was getting 25 and above for a stretch last season.

Come on, Furcal has been hurt and has played in a grand total of five games.

How about Tejada or Felipe Lopez?

I could see Tejada but Lopez is hitting near .300 with 2 steals. Tejada's power numbers have been dropping over the past few years but he'll still hit over .300 with plenty of RBIs. Actually most of the ss are doing pretty well so this was a tough position to pick. Michael Young may be another candidate.
