Yeah, it isn't LTE, the real 4G. Its faster than the 4/3Gs, but way slower than the 5. I still have a 4s and 3 3Gs iPhones in my drawer. I should have sold them a long time ago, but been way too busy. I think I may take the 4s to Gamestop as they have a 30% bonus if you trade it in towards an XBox One and their price seemed to be close to what people were getting on eBay. I'm starting to digest some information out there on what we know. I wonder if this was the Iphone 5 they meant to release and couldn't. It would explain a lot.
I mean a 64bit processor with a co-processor is a major step forward. If you look at what Android is doing they are putting 3GB of RAM in devices which basically is going to push 32 bit processors right to the limits.
Now you have to release an OS and user experience that would benefit from such an upgrade and I'm just not sure they have done that. Graphics rendering and page loads are already where you need it to be for the phone. Maybe the tablets need the HP.
I think the 64 bit processor is going to put Android hardware makers in a huge scramble. They are going to have to look at off the shelf components to do the traffic cop stuff Apple came up with custom and that will create headaches and more fragmentation.
I do sort of wonder if Jobs wanted this as the 5 and a larger screen as the 5s with roughly the same hardware package.

They don't ever announce the exact time they release it so the servers don't get swamped.
OS updates on launch day can take down huge swaths of bandwidth.

Yea, I am just backing my phone up now and going to periodically check throughout the day. I'm looking forward to it, just because its basically a new phone. Most people like the update that have used it, right?

Yeah, most seem to like it but I'm prepared to hear lots of whining about the typical stuff. Battery life sucks now, so slow and laggy, fugly, etc.

I've had iOS7 for the past few months, and liked it, but didn't realize how much until last wkend. I dropped my phone, and had to get a new one. My new i5 couldn't take my iOS7 iCloud backup, so I'm been using iOS6 since Saturday. The changes in 7 may seem cosmetic at first, but it is way, WAY better than 6.
Can't wait to get 7 back today. I'll be checking non-stop.

I never had to with the 4s and when I first got my 5. I could go a couple days, i.e. end the day above 50%. Now, after a couple calls I could be down to 40% at midday and usually down to 20% every night and I am not a heavy user, i.e. playing games, etc.

Hey not sure if this means anything, but was just trying to d/l an app, and was forced to "read" and approve new terms and conditions for the store. Do you think this would mean your new OS is up? I have an ol' 4 so I can't tell.

Can you elaborate on some of the benefits of ios7? I have a JB'd iphone 5 and am reluctant to upgrade, but want to know what the new os has to offer.

The iOS7 will not work for me. The iOS6 didn't either! I am planning to upgrade with this version.

I believe so. I don't think the install space requirement are that much different than 6.1

The update ran for about 45 minutes and then I got a message stating that the Software Update is Unavailable. Tried a few more times and keep getting the same.I'm going to lunch. Hopefully it's all done when I get back.And I'm downloading.

I got down to 26 minutes remaining. Then, "Error: Cannot complete." So, I resume where it left off, right? OF COURSE NOT. 3 hours remaining...here I am dying to get home & update
Get it together Apple, or I'll drop you for an S4 like a bad habit. Feel like I'm trying to watch Sunday Ticket on my tablet here.

So came back and it said 3 hours to complete the download. So I unplugged my phone from iTunes. It's now down to 14 minutes, which means time travel is possible. If it downloads successfully, I will try to install it before I have to leave.

Up and running. No issues. Cool that I can delete my flashlight app and move the calculator to a back end folder now with the scroll up option.
