Man, this safety class is weak. I don't even have anyone outside of Phillips under consideration in any of my leagues. I just hope my league mates don't listen to your guys' commentary on Flowers, I'll be curious to see what his ADP is like in the coming weeks.

One sleeper DE I'm curious to hear more on, Jason Jones from Eastern Michigan. Watched the kid play quite a bit in school and think his game could translate if given the chance. I'm targetting Ellis and Dorsey in my DT req'd league and already got Long in another dyno but don't really want anyone else except for a late round flier. I have my sights set on Avril and Howard, but Jones intrigues me. Thoughts?

Agreed. I think one of the DeCoud, Morgan, Barrett, Godfrey group (and maybe Demps or Lynch) to emerge with reasonable value at some point down the line, but there's no reasonable argument that one will be a 70 solo guy at any point in the next two seasons. On the surface, I think Jones has the quickest line to an every down job after Long, Harvey and Avril. He's one of those guys that may well come into his own by the middle of next year. Nice guy to stash if you've got room or be ready to move on once he gets an opportunity so you don't have to fight for him after he attracts the attention of your competition. I think Chris Ellis fits that bill, too.

The safeties the ravens drafted were my favorite in the class... Zbikowski of Notre Dame and Nakomori out of Cincy.

linkSounds like they want to work him inside and outside - Always good to be compared to Justin Tuck - although not so much for fantasy. Classic Titans aspirational pick with a high ceiling, but a lot of work to get there.

It surprised me to see Buffalo and Tampa draft corners in the first. Unusual to see your zone teams draft their corners that high. McKelvin was particular interesting pick, arguably the best corner in the draft, unlike other corners that are drafted by zone teams; he appears to have the skill set to be a shut down man corner. This concerns me, in respect to dynasty, for two reasons …

(1st) Should Buffalo struggle down the road and replace either the HC or DC and dump the cover-2, McKelvin should be a fit in any defense and stay with the new regime.

(2nd) If McKelvin truly can be a shut down corner, he could receive big bucks in the open market when the time comes, probably more $ than Buffalo or any other zone team would pay, putting him a less favorable IDP situation.

Talib on the other hand is in a great place, a true zone corner. I liked Talib over Flowers. I think Flowers will be the more productive guy from the onset, but I like Talib to be the better of the two in the long run. WTS … as long as their in the right scheme, I think they both will have very productive IDP careers ... had them 1-2 (CB).

I agree that outside of Phillips, not much at the top in the safety class, however if Johnson had went to the Giants, I may have liked him over Phillips. I agree with Jene, I think there will be a safety (or two) that will emerge and be a good IDP down the road. The problem is who.
