Interview with John Crist

In This Episode: Cecil Lammey and Sigmund Bloom break down the Bears with Special Guest John Crist, Publisher Bear Report Magazine, and Editor in Chief of BearReport.com Topics include Rex Grossman being replaced by Brian Griese, who will be the 2008 QB, how will the offense change with Griese at the helm, the 2007 grade for Cedric Benson so far, plus more!

I was surprised at Crist's optimism about Berrian's future with the Bears.
Huh?!That kid is the #1 receiver on 3 out of 4 teams in every division in the NFL until Holt & Andre Johnson get back to full health. On Sunday night he dropped the first and the one that looked like it could go for a TD and still finished 6 for 73. He's deep fast and over the middle tough. Check out his college stats!the interview:Aside from his having to maintain a rosy outlook due to his business being the Bear, that analysis was right on. Thinking that Griese will be an improvement over Grossman is a rosy point of view. There is no offensive line on either side of center and no running backs. "Moose" is done.

I just didnt think it was a sure thing that they would want to commit to him for the long haul. Part of me also sees him struggling more now that defenses can be more aggressive and risk pushing him around now that the threat of the deep ball is gone. You're right that I'm selling him short - he has demonstrated a lot of what you ask out of a #1 WR.

He is also an UFA after the season in an organization known for its, shall we say "frugal," business practices

thanks for listening! John is a great guy, and will be an Audible regular whenever we need Bears info straight from Halas Hall.
