No major surprises here, but some more ammo for those of you that have projected Irons as eventually taking over for Rudi. When I asked Curnutte this question, he didnt come right out and say that Irons could replace Rudi down the line, but he did say "They dont draft players to be backups", and that they saw how fast the RB situation can change back in 2003 when Dillon got hurt and Rudi roared into action. So, reading between the lines, it seems that they WANT Irons to be ready if (when) the time comes that Rudi isnt cutting it or living up to his paycheck. For now, Irons replaces Perry... he was almost talking about Perry in the past tense. Poor Perry.
