The Audible LIVE! 6/23/11 - 10PM ET (1 Viewer)

Thanks for the great show as always guys.

So, can you please talk about the strategy in the 1st 3 or 4 rounds, in a ppr and non-ppr if you have the 1st, or last pick in a 12 team redraft, and if you think there is a sweet spot in the draft this year? Any particular pick?

In a 12 team dynasty rookie draft, if you had a late 1st round pick, which of the following rbs would you chose? Vereen, Carter, Hunter, Murray

Which of Vereen, Carter, and Murray would be most likely to fall to early/mid 2nd round?

Hey guys great show I was wondering what your feeling are on Ryan Mathews making a jump to the top 20 or even top 15 running backs this year. I was looking at his numbers and they are somewhat comparable to 08 Ray Rice and 09 Ahmad Bradshaw. Thanks by the way to Matt Waldman for turning me on to Bradshaw last year. Keep up the good work guys.

Hi guys, what's up?

I recently took over a team in an 12 team IDP salary cap league. Players will be under contract up to four years. If an owner however releases a player prior to the end of the contract, the team gets a hefty penalty against next years cap. I have a list of 'players to watch' so as to pick up players during the season if they become relevant for fantasy. As a general guidance for such a format, when should I start picking up players during the season so as to get them before everbody is all over them but without hurting my cap too much in case these players actually don't pan out?

Thanks as always and keep up the great show! :excited:

Truly Yours

One of the highlights of my week has to be listening to the audible podcast--your in depth analysis and wealth of fantasy football knowledge is second to none! Okay, I'm noticing how arduous it is to ascertain where players should be ranked entering the pre-season. In other words, most people seem to solely rank players based on prior year performance--it's no mystery that in a given year we usually see at least a few unexpected players finish the season in the top 10-15 at their position. So, entering training camp next month, who are your top candidates to shock the FF world and finish in the top ten at their position. Last year we saw guys like Foster and McFadden at RB and Nicks at WR. Also, do you really think a guy like McFadden can repeat last year's extraordinary season?

Hi guys, I have a very long question regarding the NFL Draft process. Why do off-field issues matter so much? It seams that teams regard off-field issues as a very big deal when grading players. If a player has stolen a laptop while in high school or got drunk publicly while in college, some or most teams would downgrade the player and if he has more than a few of these kinds of incidents remove him from their draft board entirely. The media are all over these issues as well.

I'm from Denmark, and if I compare it to soccer you hardly ever read og hear of simarly issues when talking about young players. If a player stole something at the age of 15 or 18, or maybe got thrown in jail for a day because of some misdemeanor, it has very little impact on his future as a soccer player in Denmark or in Europe. Very seldom does it mean he is a bad guy or someoone you can't trust, and in Denmark at least we feel that it is all part of growing up, making mistakes etc.

Why do you think off-field issues matter so much to NFL teams when drafting players? And could it be overrated in terms of grading a player?

I wanted to get your opinion on Percy Harvin. The FF community as a whole seems obsessed with his migraine bouts - but the guy is a gamer and a playmaker. He has improved each year and could be a physical, dynamic force in the slot especially with a young QB that will likely throw it short more often than looking for the long pass. Where do you rank Harvin long-term in a PPR scoring league?

Thanks in advance.

Guys, great show and I listen everyweek. Bloom, thanks for the constant twitter advice!

Question: WHY ALL THE HILLIS HATE?

I see it as this years Jamaal Charles situation. Everyone is avoiding Hillis (like Charles last year but even worse)for reasons that make little/no football sense.

Hardesty missed all of last year and OTA's this year as well as being a tremendous injury risk.

Hillis was an animal and the fans of the Brown's absolutely love this guy.

Am I wrong in thinking that Hillis will most likely receive the majority of goaline carries as well as catch 50 passes? How many rush yards does he need to beat his 4th round ADP?

Guys, what am I missing?

How is Hillis' situation any different than Arian Foster's other than the color of skin. Tate was just as highly regarded in the NFL draft as Hardesty was (selected 1 spot different), neither Hillis nor Foster were expected to breakout in the manner that they did, both Hardesty and Tate were injured in preseason, and Foster and Hillis finished 1-2 in fantasy RB rankings. Yet somehow Foster is an entrenched stud and Hillis is on every bust list in America!!??

Oh Yeah.......The Madden Curse!!

BTW, calling I white guy that runs a 4.4 "deceptively fast" is a racist comment! Speed has no deception, it is or it isn't!

I look forward to hearing your response as always!

Who are a couple of RBs considered starters that could lose their gig through free agency signings? Daniel Thomas seems like someone who has been anointed the starter in MIA, but I could see someone coming in and posing a major threat. Same with Moreno. Some others who could lose a ton of value in the coming weeks?

I'm in a 16 team keeper league where you can keep 1 player out of every 5 rounds. Would you ever consider keeping a lower ranked player based on roster positions? Example we start 3 wr, 1 rb, 1 flex. My 6-10 comes down to McFadden vs TB Williams. McFadden is clearly the higher ranked player, but we only HAVE to start 1 rb should that affect how I view keepers?

As always, great site guys.

So, with football just around the corner I was wondering if Waldman might be able to give some insight on Profiling Breakout Candidates At WR.

Over the years, the information has proved invaluable.

Hey gents!! Love the show!!

Steven Jackson.....What's he got left in the tank, and do you see the addition of Mcdaniels helping or hurting his numbers??

Thanks fellas...break a leg!

Who are the 4th and 5th year potential UFAs you have your eye on that could have big 2011s at discount (fantasy) prices

What's up guys? Hope you're enjoying that Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea and Vody Cees. I was wondering your thoughts on K Hunter RB SF..I just grabbed him with the 13.13 pick in a 14 team Dyno and was pretty happy about it. There are 3 other rookie RB's still on the board and I'm getting ready to pick again with the 19.13 pick. How would you rank these Rookie RB's that remain?

B Powell RB NYJ

T Jones RB OAK

A Green RB GB

J White RB BUF

and do you still think Noel Divine is worth a flier late?

Thanks guys....keep up the good work.

At the buzzer!! -- 2 keeper 10 team 1/2 PPR, who would you keep to accompany Jamaal Charles in the 6th round? Hakeem Nicks in the 4th round or LeGarrett Blount in the 11th?
