The Audible LIVE! - tonight 10pm ET - be there! (1 Viewer)

Guys, I've got a couple of questions for you this week:

1. I recently acquired Matt Leinart in my dynasty league. In general terms, how do you think he will perform in 2010 and beyond?

2. What are your thoughts on these young receivers for the future in terms of talent and opportunity?

(i) Kevin Ogletree

(ii) Chaz Schilens

(iii) Sammie Stroughter

Keep up the good work, fellas.

Can you guys discuss bust potential for rush DE's and OLB's ? It seems that many pundits are quick to offer the caveat of "high bust potential" as a means of stepping away from an assigned grade. Take for instance Jason Pierre-Paul. Most boards have him rated highly but then proceed to run for the hills. I understand that someone can have great physical skills that may not translate to the Pro level but why grade them so high in the first place? If a player like Brandom Graham seems like more of a sure thing why not give him the higher grade. Is this just a matter of grading preference or do most Pro teams evaluate players in this way.

I hope my question makes sense.

I'm in a PPR dynasty with a $250 cap. I can trade for the #1 pick (the owner has cap issues) for Felix Jones, who I have at $2 for 3 more years. With his pick I'd take Dez Bryant who would cost me $15 and would go in my rookie taxi squad until I'm ready to promote him with a 1-4 year contract. I already have CJ3, Ronnie Brown, and Tashard Choice long-term. I'll most likely have a decent RB fall to me at the 7th pick, and have the option of trading my 2nd round pick for Michael Bush who is signed to $1 for 3 more years.

Should I trade Felix Jones for Dez Bryant? I traded away Ray Rice @ $2 / 4 years last non-playing season, so I'm very hesitant.

Second question, I have the following players for $1 that I can sign for up to 4 years this offseason. They would have to go to my 22-man active roster. The downside is that dropping them with a contract carries a $1/year cap penalty for the life of their contract. Which ones would you consider locking up?

Chad Henne (backup to Flacco)

Jerome Harrison (actually $5)

Early Doucet

Devin Aromashodu

Andre Caldwell

Malcom Floyd

Legedu Naane

Mario Manningham

Jordy Nelson

These guys are so cheap, that if I hit the jackpot on only one of them, it's worth the future cap hits for the others. However, I currently have a full roster and should drop at least 1 or 2 of them.

Thanks guys!

Gentlemen!

1. Congratulations to Bloom. May your son learn to find value at QB in the middle rounds of the draft.

2. Would love to hear your general take on this year's rookie RBs.

Two years ago was a bonanza (Forte, C. Johnson, Slaton) but last year not so much.

Who's the most likely to succeed regardless of their situation?

Who needs to get into the right scheme to make an immediate impact?

Or do I just avoid this year's crop and focus on some second- and third-year players (Moreno? Mendenhall?) now that they've had a little more time in the oven?

Thanks as always for all you do.

Guys with the off-season well underway and the majority of dynasty leaguer's focused on upcoming rookie drafts I was hoping to engage you guys in a discussion surrounding 1st/2nd round values for mixed rookie/FA drafts.

Specifically I am looking for some feedback and opinions on the following things:

1. In 16 team leagues with IDP, at what point do guys think owners should start looking at drafting just purely based on talent as opposed taking the longer shot skill position guys? For example, last season we witnessed owners reaching for RB's/WR's in the 1st two rounds of rookie. Later round NFL picks like Bernard Scott/James Davis/Iglesias/Rashad Jennings/Andre Brown etc were often drafted before more talented non-WR/RB types (Curry, Laurinaitis, Cushing, Freeman, etc). Now of course this changes every season based on the draft class and whatnot, but in general when I look back I see this takes place most every season in some shape or form. I think at some point you should take the better talent regardless of position (ok unless it is DT/K, etc) instead of reaching. But I could be wrong with that approach? Thoughts?

2. Where do you guys usually start thinking about taking some of the FA's off of the board (this season - Zach Miller-Jax, Aromashadu, etc) in the mixed drafts instead of drafting rookies? For example is the early 3rd (16 team) too early in your opinion?

Thanks for the time gents..maybe I will call in live for the 1st time ever if I happen to be around and we can chat this over the air.

-Zane

Keep on rocking guys! All of the other fantasy podcasts on FSC refer to your show as what they aspire to become!

Considering the injuries to the rookie WRs D Thomas and D Alexander, how far will they drop in rookie drafts and will they recover to contribute in their rookie year?

Since Daniel Jeremiah doesn't like LB McClain as a dominant player, are there any other rookie LBers that would be good fantasy starters?

Do you see any rookie DLs being a fantasy factor this season?

Howdy....

Bloom...Isn't fatherhood great....reached the point yet where you're as tired as an overweight O lineman in training camp?

I have the 2.1 pick in a rookie draft in an IDP dynasty league...about this point in the draft I should be able to get a great linebacker....last yr

I had a little higher pick and the big 3 were gone and so I dropped down and was able to get Cushing who Norton was spouting as

a solid #4...what a great pickup he was....so since my LB corps is in need of more building...who are some guys that I should start

looking into?

Thanks guys....will be listening and enjoying my glass of Jack...

Hey Sig, Dynasty Greg here.

Three questions:

1) Talk to me about Jacoby Jones. (I targeted him this off season as a player on the rise and rostered him in all of my dynasty leagues.)

2) The other intriguing young WR to me is Aromashodu. He seemed to click with Cutler at the end of last year. Will it continue in 2010? The news that Chicago may scale back Hester's offensive role was music to my ears!

3) Will Oakland ever wake up and realize they have a monster RB in Michael Bush, if they would just utilize the guy? Or do you not share my enthusiasm for Bush?

Thanks for all you do.

Hey Cecil and Sigmund, love the show and all the work you guys do talking football year round. With the official confirmation that Clausen and Bradford will both be unable to work out at next week's combine which QB prospect has the most to gain in terms of draft stock. Colt McCoy? Dan LeFevour? Jarret Brown? Tony Pike? Thanks and keep up all the hard work you guys do.

I really enjoyed Bloom's recent lessons learned column. I always feel that we're too quick to look ahead to next season, when we should spend some time looking back at the previous year and thinking about what we can learn from it moving forward. There were certain surprises (both booms and busts) that no one could have seen coming, but I'd love to hear you discuss some of the bigger surprises from the last year and get into what we maybe should have seen that could have tipped us off to what kind of year they'd have, and how that can be applied this coming year. Essentially, which picks were just either really good (or bad) luck, and which ones can you honestly say you missed on. And why? I realize hindsight is always 20/20, but I still think this can be a very useful exercise and I'd love to hear your take on it.

For the following rookie RBs, what is the ideal team/situation/opportunity:

Spiller

Matthews

Best

Dwyer?

Is there a situation that would vault one of them to top of your rookie draft list?

One more question: I loved Bloom's TE dynasty tiers. Can't wait for articles on the other positions.

Would you keep Jermichael Finley for a 6th round pick in a non-PPR league with start 1 TE and 1 WR/TE? 6th round seems a little high to me, but ...

Also, I think you should end every show with Bloom's musing about parenting. Very insightful and applicable to parents and non-parents.

In a dynasty PPR what are your guys thoughts about Leon Washington next year? Can he come back and be healthy? He seems like he still has a pretty high ceiling if he can come back healthy.

If Vick lands in STL, how will that effect Steven Jackson and the Rams offense?

Also after his good soph season, I have been fielding a lot of offers for Garcon, what do you guys see his value as? top 20?

Are these shows archived? Won't be home for a while but would like to check it out.

Thanks!

How would you guys rank these rb's in a dynasty league?

Andre Brown

Gartrell Johnson

DJ Ware

Mike Goodson

Jalen Parmele

Donald Brown

Been busy last couple months. Went from every week listener/chatter to nothing. Just wanted to say I miss you guys and the good times + good info you present.

assuming that's danny, this order is correct.Ware ruffled some feathers when they were cleaning out lockers or doing the end of year stuff. I'm not sure if he returns, if he has to apologize to return or what but there's a significant issue there.Brown is still looked upon favorably and Coughlin likes Gartrell. His fondness of Gartrell is more like Reuben or a 2nd FB, a guy he'd love to have around if he can but could be in a roster crunch. I do think Gartrell can play in the NFL and if he were to not make the Giants that might be a good thing for him like it was for Ryan Grant. I'd sit tight on the top two.(I know this was for Cec and Sig just felt like chiming in since I missed the chat room, hope it's OK)
