The Audible - LIVE! - tonight 10pm ET (1 Viewer)

Oh man...what a week. A few Questions:

1. I have Orton in a 16 team PPR league. After the bye I dropped a backup QB [Anderson] because I figured after the way Simms played in the pre-season he'd be better than the backups out their should Orton go down. Sunday made me question that. If Orton doesn't go this weekend, I have Simms but I also picked up Stafford, who would you go with? I almost cringe at the thought, but others available - Quinn, Russell Freeman. Mind, it would take a moment of the purest desperation to field a K-Stater at QB.

2. From what you'd seen, do you think that Brandstater has any hope to be groomed into a solid McDaniels/Patriots system QB 3-4 years down the road? He seems to have some great size, but does he have the potential for the skill set to become the franchise like a Rodgers or Brady-light?

3. This weekend, KU vs Texas...trap game?

Thanks guys.

WOO!

Matt: When are we doing the WildBlurb thing again??!?? The people (Lammey) demand it.

Also - what are your thoughts on McCoy going forward. Have we seen enough to rely on him (we haven't IMO) and if not, what have you seen prior to the draft that bode well or ill for the Man Named Shady McCoy?

Second but attached to that - have we seen the last of Brian Westbrook? SHOULD we have seen the last of Westbrook (IE, is it too risky to come back)? Been talking about it a bunch on my end, but always want the input from the fine minds at the Audible.

Yessirr! Mofongo time!

1.) Warner or Schaub this week? Both have juicy matchups..

2.) Need 1 RB out of: Ryan Grant, Pierre Thomas, Beanie Wells, Jason Snelling, and Bernard Scott

3.) I've been offered Vernon Davis for Beanie Wells in a standard start 2 RB 1 TE league; my RB's are ADP, Ryan Grant, Pierre Thomas, and Snelling and my TE is Olsen; do i pull the trigger? or do I try and give up Ryan Grant instead and hope for Beanie to blow up during the playoffs?

Hey guys

Need some help here:

1) Fitzpatrick vs Henne as my 3rd qb (my other two are Hasselbeck and Cassel, start 2 each week) for the rest of the season especially the playoffs (I’m in first in my division due to rest of my roster mostly).

10 team league/no ppr

also should I pick up Lex Hilliard or Kory Sheets to replace Ronnie Brown.

2) Which 4 of these 5 WR’s do I start this week: (starting 3 + flex) (ie which ONE do I BENCH)

Randy Moss, Desean Jackson, Mike Sims Walker, Calvin Johnson, Steve Smith (NYG)

10 team league/no ppr

3) Currently have Tony Gonzalez and Jermichael Finley as TE’s

Gonzo plays every week but I was wondering if I should keep Finley or cut him for James Casey HOU

Who is the more likely breakout stud for the rest of this season as I could possibly use/need the other as a flex each week especially in playoffs (or if something happens to Gonzo).

(different league from questions 1&2 but also in 1st place)

15 team league/no ppr.

Thanks as always, great show, great help.

Need 2 RB from these guys for this week

LT

Beanie

Snelling

Moreno

Bernard Scott

Caddy

Garrard vs. Bills or Palmer vs. Raiders?

Need to roll the dice on my WR3 once again: Massaquoi vs. Lions, Brandon Gibson vs. Cardinals, or Floyd vs. Broncos

Thanks guys! Love the show!!

Word,

I'd appreciate your thoughts on the following WRs in a PPR for the remainder of the season:

Jacoby Jones- What's the deal with the leg? Casey being talked up now, does that de-value him some?

Legedu Naanee- I can't tell much difference between he and Floyd, other than Floyd seems to get more reps for whatever reason. Naanee just seems to get open to me.

James Jones- With Nelson back have we seen his best games? Does he retain value as anything more than a "speculative add/hold" in case of a Driver/Jennings injury?

Mike Thomas- Seems to be getting a boring 5 for 45-50 every week lately. Does he maintain?

Lance Long- With Bowe gone, does he reap the benefits, or does potentially the upgraded coverage kill him?

Non WR-related: In your minds, which runner finishes with more points in non-PPR going forward, Chris Wells or Shady?

stay cool

(Also...."Mark Sanchez.")

Hey Guys,

PLAYOFFS! PLAYOFFS?

I’m in a dogfight with three other teams fighting for the last playoff spot in a $$$ PPR league… here are my questions for you:

1- Do I bench Vincent Jackson against DEN and Champ Bailey? I’ve got options behind him with Calvin Johnson, Miles Austin , Jeremy Maclin (and Kevin Walter);

2-I’ve got Bernard Scott, Ryan Moats and Reggie Bush at RB and can only start one;

3-And finally, at TE, Heath Miller or Shiancoe… is this a coin flip or is there some specific, sneaky reason to start one over the other?

Thanks!

Ps- “Rock and roll!” he cries, as Matt Jones and Mark Sanchez do lines of coke on hot dogs

Lost Dwayne Bowe this week, have Boldin and Sims-Walker as my 2 starters, but who do I start as my WR3: Mush Mohammed, Straughter or Jacoby Jones? Non-PPR league

Also, 2nd league, non-PPR pick 3 WRs:

Boldin

Floyd

Manningham

Santanna Moss

Manningham

Thanks guys.

Who is the better DYNASTY pick up, Lex Hilliard or Kory Sheets ?

Where do you rank Ronnie Brown dynasty wise after the dreaded LisFranc injury ?

thanks.

Bloom.... Zappa rules !!

"Hungry Freaks, Daddy"

I've got a big trade question for you at the deadline. I'm worried about R. Grant's schedule down the stretch and also looking to shore up my back up RBs as well.

So, with that said here's the deal in my 12 team standard scoring league. Non PPR.

In 2 separate deals I'd be giving up R. Grant/C. Ochocinco/A. Green for W. Welker/P.Thomas/L. Maroney.

Here would be my revised lineup with starters highlighted.

QB - Schaub

RB - R. Rice, P. Thomas (L Maroney, S. Morris, M. Bush, L. McLain, F. Jackson, L. Weaver)

WR - R. Moss, W. Welker, G. Jennings (H. Nicks)

TE - V. Davis

Should I do the deals? Thanks.

Hey Fellas! Matt -- glad you're on the air again!

Just a few things:

Hoping to add a 3rd RB from the following via trade in a non-PPR dynasty league: Jacobs (Ware available on waivers), Wells, or Caddy. How would you rank 'em for a championship run this season and beyond?

Like Bloom I've been playing the waiver wire for matchup DSTs. Last week it was the Titans, but who should I grab for this week? Detroit?! Right now I have Jacksonville...

With the loss of Ronnie Brown, I'm almost certainly rebuilding now in a 14-team non-PPR dynasty league where we start 2-4 WR+TE (combined). What would you do with these guys: B. Celek, V. Davis, J. Finley, Z. Miller. (WRs are very thin , so I've been picking up TEs).

Thanks! Cecil -- The Audible is always excellent! Bloom and you are consistently 'ON.' Amazing. Keep rockin' it...

My RB's and WR's are killing me this year. 2 RB questions and 2 WR questions

I finally dropped Westbrook and picked up Forsett, so my roster 4 start 2 RB's look like this: Rice, McCoy, Pierre, and Forsett. RB's get bonus points for receiving TD's and 100+rush/50+ rec yard games. Rice is entrenched as my #1, but I seem to have a revolving door at #2 based on matchups. Who do I start this week and who do I lean on for the rest of the year?

My roster 6 start 3 WR/TE's are Jennings, Bowe, Hester, Gates, MSW and Meachem. WR/TE's get points for TD's and 100+ yard receiving games. MSW is set at #1, but at the 2 and 3 spots I just can't seem to pick the guys that are going to go off any given week. Wallace is available, do I drop Bowe for Wallace? I believe Hester and Jennings should be in my lineup, but is it time to give up on Jennings and look to a Wallace or a Meachem for the rest of the year at WR#3?

Thanks guys, love the podcasts and keep it classy!

Nice to hear Matt in the house!

Matt- can you identify some of the players you rated high in the RSP during the last few years that have low value now but you think may still be able to produce.

PPR dynasty which of these RB's have the best chance of being a stud RB for 2010 & beyond, need at least 1 or 2 to start with AD.

K Smith

Hey Fellas,

My buddy and I scraped together our money this year to get into one of the high-stakes contests (don't tell the wife) and we have a shot at the playoffs but it comes down to two decisions:

First, we must choose two of Tomlinson, KevSmith, Caddy, Buckhalter and Fargas; and then we have to flex one of those previous RBs or Lee Evans or Chris Chambers... what do you think? Is there an obvious choice there or are we just rolling the dice?

Also, since every point matters we have a time-senstive dilemma of Carolina's Defense vs. Miami tonight or Detroit against Cleveland...

Thanks, as always, for the podcasts. You guys ROCK!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the awesome show as always. Great to hear the Wildman once again.

2 questions :

1. Does Ladell Betts have any value beyond this season or does he return to a backup role? I read that he is 30 years old so is at the wall for running backs performance wise, not sure if that applies to a backup guy.

2. For Matt - who are the rb's and wr's that you are loving for next years draft? Anyone that we should keep ours eyes on on Saturdays.

Last but not least, this is for Bloom, although he is not there. My wife and I are thrilled in the past week to have had our first son. Nothing better than falling asleep with the little guy on your chest watching a terrible Monday Night Football game. Good luck - I am only a week into it, but it is abslutely awesome!

Keep up the great work guys and thanks for a great show.

Injuries have decimated my backfield, who should I sit from the following:

- Justin Forsett @ MIN

- Anquan Boldin @ STL

- Brandon Marshall vs SD

Do you see any 2010 Keeper value on Ronnie Brown (how long for a FULL recovery?) or B. Westbrook (will probably retire?).

Thanks

Lost Ronnie Brown. Picked up Bernard Scott. We can start 3RB/2WR,or 2RB/3WR. With LJ looming, can I start Scott, or shall I put in Kevin Walter or Chester Taylor to go with ADP, Lynch, Chad, and Roddy?

12-team NON-PPR redraft league. Start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 WR/RB Flex, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF. 16 player roster.

Passing TDs = 4 pts, all others 6 pts. 1 pt for 10 yards rushing and receiving, 25 yards passing.

My Team:

QB: Garrard, Hasselbeck

RB: AP, Lynch, Chester Taylor, Sammy Morris, Bernard Scott

WR: Roddy White, Chad Ochocinco, Braylon Edwards, Kevin Walter

TE: Vernon Davis

DEF: Phil, GB, Chi

K: K Brown

Good Evening Gentlemen, I thought I would take a break from the excitement surrounding the "Going Rogue" tour to drop you a question on Trent Edwards. Do you see any similarities in his inability to develop behind that awful offensive line with that of Jim Plunkett's battering earlier in his career with New England? Is his career salvageable?

I know you guys were maybe 10 when Plunkett played but maybe you have seen some grainy 8mm footage of his time in New England. In the words of John Prine; "You know what blood looks like in a black and white video, SHAWDOWS.......

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.....

Hey guys! First - major thanks to Sigmund for all the twitter help on Sunday mornings (@tuherick)!

Here's my dilemmas for this week (spanning a couple of leagues).

League 1 (I'm currently 1st overall):

Start Aaron Rodgers vs 49ers or Schaub vs Ten

Start Hines Ward @ KC, Ochocinco @ Oak, OR VJax @ DEN (pick only 1) - leaning towards Ward

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR in this league - NO flex. Standard scoring with 5pt bonus at 100 yds receiving and 300yds passing

League 2 (fighting for playoff position)

Start which flex player? Beanie Wells, Ladell Betts, Slaton, or Calvin Johnson (Std scoring plus 1/2ppr, 5pt bonus @ 100yds rush/rec)

Playing off the CJ mention above, I'm currently starting Roddy White & Wes Welker as my 2 starting WR's. You like them over CJ this week?

Thanks for all the input guys! I have a good shot to have a very Merry Christmas thanks to all your advice (and my FFB success this year).

PS - What's Matt Jones up to these days? (Yes, please play the Dr. Roxo track). :kicksrock:

hey guys, love the show. couple things. standard FBG scoring, non-PPR, 14 team, redraft league. currently tied for 1st in division at 8-2, duking it out for wk 14 bye. start 1qb / 2rb / 2wr / 1rb-wr flex / 1te / 1k / 1def.

pretty deep @ RB (turner, s-jax, beanie, forsett, j charles, mcfadden, b scott). ok/weak @ QB/WR (garrard/campbell, MSW/avery/wallace/ed royal/a gonzo). very weak @ TE (cooley/fred davis) -- i had traded dallas clark 3 wks ago to get beanie for the playoff run.

1 -- is cooley worth holding thru the wknd? dumped pettigrew for him this wk after your WW show recommendation, but since then it sounds like news about his ankle hasn't been great. last i heard, he is getting a 2nd opinion and that this coming monday is D day about whether he will play again in a couple wks or whether he goes on IR, and according to tom kessenich via twitter yesterday, 80/20 odds he will be heading to the IR. my gut is telling me the roster spot he is taking up isn't worth the 20% chance he comes back, especially given he isn't likely to be anything better than a mid/low TE1 anyway, so i'm tempted to dump him and take a chance on either james casey, in the hopes of him having owen daniels type upside, or stashing away a RB lottery ticket sort of guy, like a rashad jennings or even a danny ware. thoughts? also, is casey expected to play/play much this wk?

2 -- in the vein of scrapping dead wood on my roster for late season "lottery ticket" sort of players, are eddie royal and anthony gonzalez worth a roster spot at this point? i drafted them both relatively early, and have clearly been frustrated with them all season. only held onto gonzo b/c i had the extra injury spot on my roster and was hoping he would come back and contribute during fantasy playoffs. any update on his knee? and is royal worth hanging onto given we might be seeing more out of simms now, i.e. maybe he develops a better rapport with royal than orton had? also, given i'm pretty deep at RB already and thin at WR, would it be a bad/meaningless move to dump them for guys like jennings, ware, chad simpson/mike hart, etc? then again, as i learned with turner this week, depth at RB is never a bad thing.

thanks guys, your input is very much appreciated.

BB

Need help with my number 3 back, Addai or Hightower, was leaning towards Addai.

I have Donald Brown on my bench and have S-Jax and Ray Rice and 1 and 2.

Also, Packers D this week or Titans D. We have no points for yards just turnovers, blocked kicks, and defensive and special team TD's, and total points.

Thanks guys!!!!

d

P.S. I just saw that Matt Waldman is joining you, he's the reason I joined this year, I love his gut check articles and his strategy of going WR early with his mid to late RB's looks brilliant this year with guys like Benson, Rice, and Mendenhall. Wish I got more of them! Keep up the great work!

'Sup Fellas!

Trying to recover after getting BowNeD in two leagues...looking towards WEEKEND AT BERNIE'S because you know I LIKE BIG BETTS (and I cannot lie).

Here's the questions...

1. I read Bloom's second Opinion rankings, and have a hard time believing you've got Snelling, Betts, and Ber.Scott above P.Thomas and Hightower this week!!

Please rank & 'splain (PPR league)!!

P.Thomas@TB, Hightower@STL, Snelling@NYG, BerScott@OAK, L.Betts@DAL.

2. Brady v.NYJ or A. Rodgers v.SF (I had to do the trade...too much unhealthy man-love for Rodgers)?

3. Again, Bloom's Flex rankings for PPR have Addai and Snelling in the mid-30s, with Driver and Beanie way down in the 50s. Why so bullish on Addai and Snellling, and not much love for Beanie vs. STL?

Love the show! Helps make work on Friday go faster as I listen to the replay.

I have a more general question. Many of the FF leagues are coming to a point where we will be restricted from conducting any further trades until the off season. Are there any guys out there that you would consider plug and play type guys that will make the difference on your team heading towards and into the playoffs (also with dynasty implications) and on the flip side guys you would think would be good bait to get those you can come up with?

Obviously, it is unlikely to pry someone like Ray Rice or R. Moss or the like from an owner. But are there others up and coming that could be #2's/#3's right now that look to be higher during the playoffs that you would consider sacrificing one of your own studs (or atleast still considered highly thought of ie Calvin Johnson) (b/c your stud is looking at a down tick due to team circumstances, schedule etc)?

Here is my roster: Rivers, E. Manning; P.Thomas, R. Rice, Maroney, Caddy, Choice, Snelling; L.Fitzgerald, S.Smith (NYG), Megatron, A.Gonzalez, A. Collie, Shockey, revolving DST and kicker. (12 team, .5ppr, 6 passing td....normal scoring on the rest)

Thanks for the continued insight and great entertainment.

Corporate

Oh...and yes...put me down for another DR. Roxo request!!

Another guy losing Bowe this week, but my only other options at WR are the Smith boys. Since the Thursday Night game will already be started before you get to these, I'm just going with my gut and putting in Steve Smith (NYG) this week.

However, the flex spot is up for grabs! Here are my choices:

Ryan Grant vs. SF

Beanie Wells vs. STL

Forsett vs. MINN

Slaton vs. TEN

I'm probably going with Grant, but are any of these other guys showing a better upside for this week?

Thanks for the help as always!

Hi guys - need your help with a final waiver wire pick up - we have no more for the season. Looking for the lottery tickety, home run here ...don't need to start them right away.

1 pt per 3 receptions

RBs available of interest

Ward, Derrick

Moore, Mewelde

Weaver, Leonard

Parker, Willie

McClain, Le'Ron

Cecil, thanks for taking time to answer mine at the end of the show. You did miss one of my questions though. Can you help on this one?

Start Hines Ward @ KC, Ochocinco @ Oak, OR VJax @ DEN (pick only 1) - leaning towards Ward

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2WR in this league - NO flex. Standard scoring with 5pt bonus at 100 yds receiving
