The best trade you ever made in a dynasty league (1 Viewer)

Traded Willie Parker for two 1sts in a league that places a premium on RBs.

This was right before he got hurt, and the two first were the 2008, 1.07 overall, and 2009, 1.02 overall.

MUA-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I have a few recent ones which I think may be good but too soon to tell.

When I first joined this league, though, I tried to remake my roster whch sucked. One owner really wanted Adalius Thomas, who just left Baltimore for NEP. I ended up giving Adalius Thomas for Eric Barton, 2008 2nd & 5th round picks, and a 2009 1st round pick.

On a whole, I think the trade was a big win, considering Barton was significantly cheaper than THomas and outscored him 191-162 over the past two seasons... but the best part are the moves that this enabled afterwards.

First, I freed up cap space which I was able to use to acquire Tuck and Cromartie who were both UFA before their breakout seasons. In the 2008 draft, I took Curtis Lofton with that 2nd round pick and Xavier Adibi with the 5th round pick. Later in 2008, I traded Lofton + that 1st rounder (I now had 3 2009 1sts) + my 2011 1st for Matt Ryan. Then I traded Adibi + 2.04 for Lofton + 2.11.

So, through some level of indirection, Adalius Thomas turned into Barton, Lofton, and Matt Ryan - and at some level Tuck and Cromartie.

More recently, I sold Kevin Smith for a 2010 1st and 2nd, and 2011 1st, 2nd and 3rd... to a team that should be pretty bad. I'm a big fan of Smith's, but I think that could turn out pretty well for me.

A few years ago I took over an existing team in a contract IDP Dynasty league. The owner had decided prior to the season past that he was getting out, and he essentially ruined the future of the team while taking a stab at one last championship before he quit. I was a bit of a noob to this kind of league, with only one season in one league under my belt.

I have kept a blog of the rebuild here. *No offense intended to anyone, that just happens to be where I wrote the blog. Subsequent updates to the story are here and here.
I read all this with interest and I haven't even played dynasty or IDP.

I hope it was a decent read. It has been a long road to recovery

A few days before the 1999 season started I made a minor deal involving me giving up a backup defense for a 2nd round rookie pick (in the 20s overall). Nothing to get excited about, except the guy from the bottom of the bench that the other owner threw in to keep rosters even happened to be Kurt Warner. I can't take any kind of credit for that one (didn't target Warner or anything) but it became pretty legendary in that league. Other guy still gets mocked about it. Luckily I decided to wait a week or two to see what the arena league guy could do before cutting him (liked his weapons even if the Rams were terrible at the time). Warner helped me win back to back titles in that league.

Back in the day some sucker named Peens gave me Larry Fitz, Clinton Portis and a 1st rounder for Andre Johnson and Julius Jones.....those silly Cowboy fans
