The Bill Simmons Podcast (1 Viewer)

Bill is going to have to take some Ls and just eat it. He's talked a lot of #### over the years, ESPECIALLY about how easy TV is.

I barely watch PTI anymore.  Even the next day is too late with all the outlets like Reddit.  A weekly show is brutal.

With the rise of podcasts how can you compare an hour interview show with a 10-minute segment?

Simmons' whole audience is the podcast types.

I listen to most of Simmons' podcasts.  They are perfect for driving and doing errands.  i don't sit down at home listen to them anymore then I do PTI.

PTI shows survive because they are daily.

I am willing to sit down at home and watch a weekly show like Maher or Oliver.  Sports are not on par with politics.  I like Maher but usually skip his monologue and go the panel.  I get a kick out of Oliver but even 25 minutes is a lot to bear.  I usually watch the youtube segments.

Simmons has a great podcast which is perfect for on the go.  A weekly sports show doesn't play anymore.

I like Simmons a lot (even liked him on Coundown with Jalen), but it would be nice to see him take this one like a man.  Not that I'd count on it.

Doing 3 BS Podcasts this week - taping with @CollinsworthPFF later this afternoon my time. Here's yesterday's podcast...
I'll believe it when I see it. Reminds me of the time that Simmons STRENUOUSLY OBJECTED to the rumor that Magic Johnson quit "NBA Countdown" because of Simmons. Bill claimed that Magic was going to appear on his podcast the next week to prove to the world that they were good friends.

(Magic never appeared on his podcast.)

What's the tone like in the Collinsworth episode? Not sure I care to listen if they're arguing the entire time.

Collinsworth apologizes for no good reason to appease Bill and they get along just fine afterward. It's disappointing.

agree. it was a little disappointing considering the past couple of days.  Just thankful that Collinsworth was finally able to hear that Bill was mad at him for bringing up Deflategate during a 4th quarter Pats Super Bowl drive.  I'll probably sleep a little sounder tonight.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was really the whole reason he wanted him on.

Simmons just didn't come off very well in my mind, and I'm not even a Collinsworth fan (I knew he hated the Giants!).  Collinsworth comes on and apologizes and later Simmons basically says he could have come back at him on Twitter, but decided to be the better man because of his kids and all.  Then he acts like it was his idea to make up and ask him on the podcast until Collisworth said, "I was the one that called you."  Oh, and Kimmel was the one who told Simmons to have him on the podcast.

He just comes off as dishonest sometimes.

Listening to the NBA power rankings pod. So far it sounds like every team should trade their best player to the Celtics. Well, that's new.

Didn't he used to play a little background music during his ads? I liked that because it made it easy to jump over them and skip back and forth to the right spot.

To be honest, he did preface it by saying that the reason he kept mentioning the Celtics as a trade partner is that they have the most assets among the contenders and that its a well-known fact that they are trying to trade for someone. He even said that people were going to think he was just being a homer.

While we're at it, how about 1,200 words on what would happen if DeMarcus Cousins traveled back in time to kill Hitler's mother.
