The Bill Simmons Podcast (3 Viewers)

I heard.  And Sal immediately sarcastically "You did?!" :lmao:   He had another senior moment where he said Green Bay is a prime trade partner for Dion Lewis cause all they have is Montgomery and Lacy is on his way out. This was just simply him being confused, but I was just waiting for Sal to whap him again.

Bill, love ya man!
sal's simmons impression voice is the best running joke going right now.  bill was even a good sport and started talking in the voice for a minute there.

I think that comparing Simmons now, with him being older, having kids, trying to build the Ringer, and devoting so much time and energy to other things versus when he was younger and had many less responsibilities and things to take away from his writing and podcasting is unfair. Of course the content isn't what it used to be. He just doesn't have the same time to put into it. Not to mention that when you get successively and are more set financially you might lose some of that fire, that hunger, that you had when you were younger. I mean honestly, what artist, and yes I am lumping writing and podcasting in with music and movies and television, doesn't have their work tail off as they get older.
Your argument has literally nothing to do with the complaints people have about his current work. No one is saying he is resting on his success and just mailing it in, which you might expect to see from someone getting older, with kids, and with other business going on.

The problem is he's still an immature baby with only child syndrome, but now has $5MM/year of obnoxiousness added on top, without even a sprinkling of self-awareness to go with it.

I hate this thread. Now I find myself critiquing while listening to the podcast.... Such as Why would he defend Ravens having a monster home field advantage when they are 20-11 at home?

I was skeptical, but after this post I totally believe you are Otis's Ex-Girlfriend and not a regular too scared to have a take his scalding on their regular username.

Inspired by this thread I listened to the guess the lines podcast, been a few years since I've listened, thought it was great.  Entertaining and kinda funny.

Good guests on the podcast this week with Fielder and Samberg. I enjoyed them, but the Samberg was a little weak on anything not SNL related. This was the most I've listened to him all year.

Wow that was pretty rough. I thought they were friends.
Rapaport is an actor. When he goes on a talk show and jokes around with the host, a lot of what he says and does is an act. They were never friends.

At any rate, it's easy for Simmons to play petty when it comes to feuds with local AM radio hosts, writers, or websites (like Barstool). But that routine isn't going to work against guys like Michael Rapaport or Magic Johnson.

He kinda seems like half a lunatic. Not that that's bad.

Long Ball Larry said:
he's not, he's total schtick.  he's basically a second-rate King of All Blacks.
It seems like he's semi-famous for being semi-famous. Other than Beautiful Girls, I can't name a single other thing he has been in.

Scanned his column today for any mention of Yi's chair or Rappaport. Nada.

Really wondering if he's actually from Boston, given how little appetite he has for confrontation.

"Why are people giving so much attention to rookies this year?!"

Two minutes later, reads a ridiculous quote from David Griffin blaming Anthony Bennett's inability to work hard when needed as the reason he was a bust.

"That's what you have to worry about with Fultz!"

THREE games into his NBA career while dealing with an injury.

Really interesting article about the human mind, and secondarily, Yi Jianlian, that chair, and Bill Simmons:

(rough week for Billy)
That's weird because I absolutely remember a chair video. I'd almost stake my life on it.

But it wasn't Yi playing against a chair. He was doing some kind of shooting drills with a chair. They played it whenever they talked about him on Sportscenter because in those days, as is still the case sometimes, there wasn't any footage of foreign guys to play.

Maybe it's actually a different player and I'm clouded by Simmons references. But there is 10000% a video of some guy doing drills with a chair that was widely played on SC in those days.
