The Birther Conspiracy Thread (1 Viewer)

Hasn't he produced whatever certificate of live birth document is needed for identification purposes? After all, he has a U.S. Passport, so the government presumably reviewed and verified his birth certificate long ago.
Do you need to be US born to get a passport?
No. But if he produced a consular report of birth abroad or a naturalization certificate as proof of citizenship, that would have already been known by the U.S. government well in advance of the election.
Can that information then be released publicly so that this can be cleared up once and for all?
You want the U.S. Government to publicly release his passport file? Why? Presumably the passport was issued based on the same short form certificate of live birth that the birthers find wholly unsatisfactory. In any event, his passport file was already hacked. If there was anything of interest, I imagine we'd already know about it.
perhapsI imagine somebody coulld potentially use that info for less noble purposes than public disclosure. Imagine having the most powerful person in the free world by the stones...

As I believe I mentioned earlier in this thread, there are two likely possibilities: (1) Obama is being uncooperative, either because it makes his detractors look foolish, or simply because he doesn't feel like dealing with the issue any further; or (2) there is some item of information in his records that he would prefer not to publicize for whatever reason. What I don't think is a likely possibility, given what we know, is that Obama was born in another country and the archival records will confirm it.
Neither 1 or 2 are reasonable excuses, just excuses...Given what we know with this administration is totally meaningless, nothing he does is above board and transparent, nothing...This could have been ended 2 years ago, there is NO reason to let it carry on, he is the most mis-trusted president ever and with good reason, you would think he might want to fix that...You are better than the garbage you are posting trying to defend him here...He doesn't feel like dealing with it??? Good lord that is rich and a total BS answer...The guy is a Chicago politician, cmon get real...

I wonder if U.S. Passport files of the President and Members of Congress are classified? Because if they aren't, there are probably thousands of government employees that have access to the file.

Back when I was in college, I actually met a Holocaust denier. He and I got into a conversation, and he challenged me to "prove" that the Holocaust happened. My answer to him was "#### you. I'm not going to waste my time proving anything to you." Why should I? He was a ####### idiot, and a bigot as well. That's how I feel about the Birthers. Their motivation for this "inquiry" is, IMO, dishonest, sometimes even to themselves. They would never question Obama's birthplace if he was a white man with a traditional "American" name. Obama's answer to them should be "#### you." That's my response anyhow. So in answer to your question, Obama's "refusal" (if that's what it is, is not shameful, it's honorable. If I were he I would refuse to cooperate in anyway whatsoever.
I went to register my kid for little league and when they asked asked for his birth certicate, I showed them a yellowed newspaper clipping . When they wouldn't accept it, I callled them racist and told them "#### you."
If:1. You were Black and had a "foreign" sounding name2. You gave them a Certificate of Live Birth3. The Little League people then demanded to see the "long form"I think you'd be a little suspicious, and well within your rights to tell them to go #### themselves. I would.

Are you at a loss for words? Which of these names on this list would have the right to tell the LL officials "#### you"

There are plenty of things that Presidents have wanted to keep private. Whether or not they are entitled to that privacy is certainly a topic for debate.
Given what we know with this administration is totally meaningless, nothing he does is above board and transparent, nothing...This could have been ended 2 years ago, there is NO reason to let it carry on, he is the most mis-trusted president ever and with good reason, you would think he might want to fix that...
More mistrusted than Nixon?
You are better than the garbage you are posting trying to defend him here...He doesn't feel like dealing with it??? Good lord that is rich and a total BS answer...
I'm not sure how the post to which you're responding is either garbage or a defense of his actions. I am simply offering what I see as the most likely motivations for his unwillingness to release the records. I don't believe I've either defended or attacked those motivations.

See what I mean? Quality entertainment.
 This thread is amazing. I can't believe I've been ignoring it.
I had been avoiding it too, but now I find it is kind of like going to the zoo - you see strange and exotic creatures you would never otherwise encounter in your everyday life. I know there are people out there that actually believe this nonsense but normally you never run across them unless you visit far right sites like Townhall or Free Republic.

I read somewhere that Obama actually had a vasectomy years before his "daughter" was born. I am not saying she is not his daughter, but it seems to me some DNA testing or some sort of testicular examination by a third party would put this to rest.

Com on barrack HUSSEIN obama, show us your nuts

Do you think it's shamemful that Obama doesn't just publish the long-form birth certificate? When so many of your subjects express doubt about the most basic items of your biography, it is difficult to rule effectively....

It seems odd that the guy who started a thread to demand we stop making Hitler analogies because they're highly offensive and inappropriate is now making Holocaust denier analogies. Just saying.

Some questions are so ridiculous, you do not dignify them with a response. Obama and Hawaii have complied with the law. That's all that is required.

Would it be possible for those of us that are late to this thing to get a "Greatest Hits" compilation of some kind? I just stumbled across that pittstown guy from a couple weeks ago, and I'm worried that there's a lot more of this sort of pure awesome buried in the back pages somewhere.

The man is supposed to be the president of the United States not a local politician trying to cover up a bribe... Yes you are defending his motivations but they are false motivations...Most people don't remember Nixon, and obama will be as despised when all is said and done...And by the way I could not care less and it is to late in any event for those that do care...His dishonesty, secrecy, half-truths and refusal to end it are what is disturbing...He has his reputation, things that are this easy to defuse and his lack of doing so only add to the reputation...He is a political hack and charlatan... That is sad, we would be better off if he was a president...

There are records which Hawaiian officials say prove his citizenship.
Yes, exactly: his birth certificate. Which has been released.

An opinion poll carried out for Daily Kos by Research 2000 in July 2009 found that 77% of Americans believed that Obama was born in the U.S., while 11% didn't, and 12% were unsure. However, Republicans and Southerners were far more likely than other political or demographic groups to doubt that Obama was born in the United States. 58% of Republicans either believed that Obama was not born in the U.S. (28%) or were not sure (30%), with 42% believing that he was. An overwhelming majority of Democrats (93%) and independents (83%) believed that he was born in the U.S. Support for the belief that Obama was born outside the U.S. was strongest in the South, where only 47% of those polled believed he was born in the U.S., compared with an average of 90% of residents of the Northeast, Midwest and West.[230] A marked racial disparity in the South was also apparent. The Politico's congressional reporter, Glenn Thrush, commented that the Research 2000 poll "explains why Republicans, including Roy Blunt, are playing footsie with the Birther fringe".[230] Writing on National Journal's Pollster.com blog, Brendan Nyhan observed that the poll "suggests that the encouragement of the birth certificate myth by conservative pundits and Republican politicians has begun to activate the GOP base on this issue".[23

so according to that poll 23%

by way of comparison

A 2000 poll held by the Russian Public Opinion Fund found that 28% of those surveyed did not believe that American astronauts landed on the Moon, and this percentage is roughly equal in all social-demographic groups.[12] In 2009, a poll held by the United Kingdom's Engineering & Technology magazine found that 25% of those surveyed did not believe that men landed on the Moon.[13] Another poll gives that 25% of 18–25 year olds surveyed were unsure that the landings happened.[

so birthers, according to polling data, are about equal to moon landing conspiracy theorists in number

perhaps Obama should address THAT issue, he did cancel any "further" attempts to land on the moon...

Some questions are so ridiculous, you do not dignify them with a response. Obama and Hawaii have complied with the law. That's all that is required.
uh...which law is that?
Hawaii's vital records laws/regulations.
so they have complied with the law that says:

State law prohibits the DOH from disclosing any vital statistics records or information contained in such records unless the requestor has a direct and tangible interest in the record, or as otherwise allowed by statute or administrative rule
uh OK..and how is this particular law relevant?

What was the % of people in November that voted against the obama agenda and the direction he is taking this country??? That is the only true poll and you can see the results...

 blah blah blah

I suppose it could be that Obama thinks it is politically advantageous to keep this conspiracy alive so he can ridicule the opposition, but considering the number of people who are unconvinced, I don't buy that.
You do know that any and everyone that questions his birth is part of the lunatic right. They deserve to be ridiculed and they in no way would vote for Obama anyhow.
According to the CNN poll linked earlier, only 42% of the public is convinced that he was born in Hawaiiyou have 29% who say "probably" and 29 % who are doubtful

58% of his subjects would like to be more convinced.
Umm.."probably" does not equal "would like to be more convinced", as it can just as easily be interpreted as "don't care" or "anything is possible".

according to the oft-repeated refrain of this thread, anybody who says he was "probably" born in the US is a "birther."

so 58% of the people, according to a CNN poll are birthers

Final Nail In Obamas Lack Of US Citizenship Coffin?

AP- WASHINGTON D.C. - In a move certain to fuel the debate over Obamas qualifications for the presidency, the group Americans for Freedom of Information has released copies of President Obamas college transcripts from Occidental College. Released today, the transcript indicates that Obama, under the name Barry Soetoro, received financial aid as a foreign student from Indonesia as an undergraduate at the school. The transcript was released by Occidental College in compliance with a court order in a suit brought by the group in the Superior Court of California. The transcript shows that Obama (Soetoro) applied for financial aid and was awarded a fellowship for foreign students from the Fulbright Foundation Scholarship program. To qualify, for the scholarship, a student must claim foreign citizenship. This document would seem to provide the smoking gun that many of Obamas detractors have been seeking.

The news has created a firestorm at the White House as the release casts increasing doubt about Obamas legitimacy and qualification to serve as president. When reached for comment in London, where he has been in meetings with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, Obama smiled but refused comment on the issue. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs scoffed at the report stating that this was obviously another attempt by a right-wing conservative group to discredit the president and undermine the administrations efforts to move the country in a new direction.

Britain's Daily Mail has also carried the story in a front-page article titled, Obama Eligibility Questioned, leading some to speculate that the story may overshadow economic issues on Obamas first official visit to the U.K.

In a related matter, under growing pressure from several groups, Justice Antonin Scalia announced that the Supreme Court agreed on Tuesday to hear arguments

concerning Obamas legal eligibility to serve as President in a case brought by Leo Donofrio of New Jersey. This lawsuit claims Obama's dual citizenship disqualified him from serving as president. Donofrios case is just one of 18 suits brought by citizens demanding proof of Obamas citizenship or qualification to serve as president.

Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation has released the results of their investigation of Obamas campaign spending. This study estimates that Obama has spent upwards of $950,000 in campaign funds in the past year with eleven law firms in 12 states for legal resources to block disclosure of any of his personal records. Mr. Kreep indicated that the investigation is still ongoing but that the final report will be provided to the U.S. attorney general, Eric Holder. Mr. Holder has refused to comment on the matter.

OMG!!!! Breaking news here. This is the big one, people. Buckle up.

So? What law(s) are not being complied with?
I think that's where we startedThe constatution has a (perhaps antiquated) requirement. There is no law or process or government agency which ensures that this requiremnt has been met.so that's where we areThe post-election statement for Hawaii will have to suffice.

Apparently whatever the truth is, it is worth more than $1 million for Obama to hide it. I am thinking Obama will long be out of office before we find out.

Do you think it's shamemful that Obama doesn't just publish the long-form birth certificate? When so many of your subjects express doubt about the most basic items of your biography, it is difficult to rule effectively....

Do you need to be US born to get a passport?

I notice you didn't provide a link for this and it is obvious why. This is a hoax article, not from the AP (article is dated April 1, 2009 a tipoff to the fact it is an April Fools joke) and there was no such organization as Americans for Freedom of Information at the time the article was written. What you posted has been declared false by Snopes.

Anybody want to move on to the second prong of The Birther's legal argument or should we just stick with this first prong?
