Everybody on the Right is racist? No. Vocal outliers in the birthers/Right being covertly/overtly racist, and the major talking heads in the Republican Party not doing much of anything to tell them to knock it off or say that they are off their rockers? Yes.Why is it whenever people shine some light on the skeletons in some closets out there, the INSTANTANEOUS trigger-response is to try and paint the world with a broad, black and white brush?! Or more accurately, paint the world with a broad, black brush (AKA the "other guys" are just as guilty of "it" as we are, so worry about your own skeletons before you start worrying about ours). Is this the part of the thread where we counter the Birthers' flim-flam eligibility argument with an equally flim-flam everybody "on the Right" is a racist argument? So I can't produce proof of where I was born. But wait, I forget. Both my parents were WHITE and married at the time...so nobody (on the Right) is going to question whether or not I was born in the Soviet Union or Eastern block. I natively speak English and my skin is pasty-white...so I'm good in the birthers' eyes, right?! I've got the right colored skin...so it's all flags and eagles soaring for this guy...![]()
Seriously, I don't think you can mention the names "Bush and Cheney" without having an almost instantaneous "yeah-but" response of "Obama." Bush and Cheney fabricated evidence to go to war with Iraq, and took more civil liberties away from Americans post-9/11 than any administration in recent memory...so let's talk about "Death Panels" or the fact that Obama was "born in Kenya." How can people even stand to look at themselves in the mirror?
Both sides have deep, dirty closets they need to own and clean before they're ever going to get better. That said, is at least part of the roots of the entire birther debate associated with racism and prejudice along with politics? Absolutely...zero question in my mind. Does that mean I'm slamming ALL Republicans and calling them racist? Nope...not hardly. Rather, I am being critical of sane, non-"ist" Republicans not standing up and saying "enough with this silliness," just because they think the birther stuff in the news cycles will help them in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016...

and "this is my best thread ever". It's like watching someone's religious beliefs attacked. The supporter can't provide any tangible evidence of the events but has such a strong faith that their version couldn't possibly be anything but 100% truth. It really is fascinating as the fairy tale dissolves and more and more facts emerge and proof of lies about the BC that those Obots simply can not change their position even slightly because of their faith and/or their inability to admit that they possibly could have been mislead. This is exactly what con artists like Obama rely on, that their supporters will continue to back an increasingly unsustainable position in the face of mounting evidence because they simply know better than everyone else.

That's probably 0.00000000000000000000000000000001% of the garbage that the Obamas have put up with the past 3+ years. I just wonder if people stop to think that they aren't just the POTUS and First Lady. They are sons and daughters, parents, aunts and uncles, friends, HUMAN BEINGS.
