The true story of Ravens OT Michael Oher. Sappy looking movie with Sandra Bullock.

Since its about an NFL rookie, is this something you will make a point of seeing?

No. I read the book 3 years ago, it was awesome. I expect the movie will suck.
 I enjoyed the parts about Lawrence Taylor and the game's evolution. Doubt that will be in the movie. This movie might be good if done 15 years from now if Oher had a good career.

Just finished the book, so I'll check it out. Not expecting much, however, as with most book adaptations.

Sandra Bullock being cast in this movie tells me it is exactly the type of movie I do not want to see. I will however look into reading the book, as I haven't really given much consideration to it until I heard many favorable reviews.

the chances of me seeing this movie are about as good as Sandra Bullock EVER gettin naked in a movie - NONE

if she did tho, i'd watch it...

It seems strange to me that an NFL rookie that didn't die tragically has a movie about him already. Wait 20-years after the guy's had a career.

Saw the movie with the wife this morning. It was actually a good movie. I did not read the book so I can not compare it to that but we both really enjoyed the movie

1) I'll wait for cable BUT will see it.

b) I guess I'm alone but I LOVE Sandra Bullock - I mean unhealthy

your not alone there. my wife knows it as well. we just watched "the proposal", she told me afterwards that Ryan Reynolds was in the movie as well. i will watch anything she's in. i even sat threw "the lake house" for christ's sake

Not to get away from the thread, but you are definitely not alone. She does not have the typical movie star look and has got the girl next door hotness going on. I told my wife that I wanted to see this movie and she said "of course you do, it is about football and has Sandra Bullock in it, your two favorite things."

So sorry but she is a long way away from being hot. Mildly attractive for a 40+ year old yes, hot no friggin way.

Maybe it is because I am 40 something that I find her hot. :coffee:

 I'm right there with you!

I'm not 40 something and I find her hot too.

Of note, someone I work with saw this last night and said it was a great movie. Of course, it's a woman that told me this, so grain of salt...

Any 25yr old that says they'd kick her out of bed is a liar.

It's actually supposed to be a really nice movie. Why does it have to be done in 15 years? His life has already been a miracle. His success and the people that supported him should be commended now.

No, it's not you. SHe's hot. Always was, still is. I'd be interested to see a picture of pantherclub. Probably an overweight 35 year old guy who still talks about being captain of his high school football team.

There's no way the movie has as much about the development of the game of football as the book, but it seems like a good flick to take your significant other too. You can pass it off as a chick flick (it has sandra bullock after all) while still being able to watch at least SOME football.

sandra bullock doesn't score very well on the under 30 demographicseems like there's a requirement about being in college when speed came out for guys to think she's hot.personally, there's a lot of better talent out there than her. and that voice? ugh.

That's what kills her for me. She is an attractive woman, but I can't stand her voice, and I hate how in almost every movie a point is made to have her snort while she laughs. That said, I'm 27, and no, I would not throw her out of my bed.

Saw it today. I thought it was really good and you have to admire everyone involved with giving Oher the chance that most kids in his situation don't usually get. If he were not an athlete it would not have happened though. There are a lot of kids who never even get a chance in life, great story for sure.

Edited to note Sandra is great and still gorgeous. Not sure why some folks are ragging on her in this thread. Not many women ever look as good as she does right now.

:towelwave: Definite date night movie with the missus. At least there's some football in it, and it seems more bearable than another rote romantic comedy.

My wife and I went to see it yesterday afternoon and she loved it. The opening of the movie showed the LT breaking Joe Theisman's leg play and talked about how LT changed the game and made left tackles the second most important position in football. After that the football was minimal to the movie, but I enjoyed it.

Quality movie about a quality young man. Regardless of how he fares over his career, its already been an awesome story.

Our baby daughter is in a nursery school with children whose parents are mostly entertainers, including several SAG members (geographic thing...we're in midtown west).

Two of them are voting for this years Oscars (err...they're doing the nominating part now I think) and said they would vote for The Blind Side as PotY and for Sandra Bullock as female lead.

You've been forewarned.

:goodposting:
