Rumor has it that Jeff Faine has been spotted at several voodoo priests residence. He was last seen holding a small doll looking remarkably like Ross Tucker, the last remaining center on the Browns roster.

You know, I thought about this after first hearing it and it sounded like a great idea. But then I read something and it made me realize that the Browns wouldn't get Fraley for anything in the world. The Eagles felt like they got screwed with Bentley. They thought they had a deal set to go and then Bentley signs with the Browns instead. The Browns would probably have to give up every first rounder for the next 10 years to pry Fraley from the Eagles.

Why would that affect the Eagles' willingness to trade Fraley for good value?

You don't think that the Eagles are a team that holds grudges? I certainly do. They'd have the Browns over a barrel. To part with pretty good OL depth like Fraley, and to give him up to a team that screwed them over at that very same position, I think the Eagles would need to receive more in compensation then they would from another team.

Ok, let me ask the question a different way. Why do you think the Eagles would feel that the Browns "screwed them over" regarding Bentley? If they had a deal with Bentley, wouldn't they hold that grudge against Bentley and not the Browns?
If the Eagles deal that way, that's the Eagles problem. Let them rot with a perfectly good center on the bench. It's a bad move for them. The Browns did nothing wrong with Bentley.

Obviously they would place more blame on Bentley. But just from little things that were said or not said by the Eagles, I think that they believe that the Browns were aware that they Eagles thought that they had a deal in place and may have even been somewhat responsible for how things occured.I'm just saying, the Eagles are a team that I think would be willing to cut off its nose in order to spite its face.

Fair enough. I have a different, much more professional impression of the Eagles front office, only limited by my further observation that they tend to be very conservative on player personnel moves. I see them as being less, not more, likely to act on a grudge when making an otherwise beneficial move than I would another, less professional front office such as that in Arizona for example. I agree that there's a human factor involved in all such transactions, but Fraley's in the final year of his contract IIRC, and the Eagles have other needs that should be addressed before a season in which they hope to rebound and fight for the division title. I would expect that to come first, and would frankly be amazed if a separate transaction involving a FA clouded their judgment there.

The Eagles do hold grudges, but against individual players.
If there was something the Eagles wanted from the Browns, they would do the deal, I beleive. The Eagles now have an embarrasment of riches on their O-Line (and D-Line) and could part with Fraley and put one of their backup guards in as Jackson's backup. I hope they trade and get some help at WR or RB (just not Suggs, eh? )

i believe William Green is still available.seems like Savage sees them as pretty even, and is willing to let go of whichever will get them something.

Well, that and the fact that it's also a valid question: what on earth do the Browns need with 4 HB's (Droughns, Green, Suggs & Harrison)? This is clearly a rebuilding year, so cash them in for either prospects or draft picks.
