The Chargers will represent the AFC in the Superbowl... (1 Viewer)

I was listening to a "special" Football Tonight on ESPN Radio, hosted by Chris Mortenson.

Mort and Keyshawn were going through this weeks playoff games and predicting the winners.

Key predicted that the Chargers will beat the Colts tomorrow. Mort picked the Colts to win by a FG.

When asked who he thought would be in the Superbowl, Key said he expects the Chargers to represent the AFC against the Giants :excited: . Mort selected the Colts to play the Giants in the Superbowl in the "Manning Bowl".

Both predicted that the Giants will repeat as Champs.

:coffee:

Just gotta love those "special" editions of Football Tonight on ESPN radio.

Keyshawn is much better on the radio, IMO, than on TV. When he was paired on Sunday mornings last year with Parcells, they did a good job. No schtick. Also have to hand it to Key on 2 other things----picking the Chargers over the Colts AND catching as many passes in that game as Vincent Jackson.

 Yeah, Key is actually not THAT bad, compared to others on TV and radio. He can get to be a bit much, but then again, so can just about everyone.Kudos to him for picking SD to win. I think many had Indy moving on to the next round, as did I.Personally, I would love to see my boy LT finally make it to the Super Bowl. I would especially like to see him win it, but at least participate in it before he retires. He reminds me so much of Barry Sanders, and it pains me to see him shut out, like Barry was.I'll be rooting for the Chargers, but I just don't see it happening. Just to GET there, they will have to beat two of the top defenses in the AFC (the other 3 teams still in it have STOUT defenses). It would be unbelievably impressive if they did make it...

I can't see the Chargers as a warm weather, west coast team winning in Pitt and more than likely Tennessee in back to back weeks. If somehow they squeak by Pittsburgh and play Baltimore in SD...then they have a shot but that is a much less likely scenario to become a reality.

Chargers should get beat in a close one in Pittsburgh. Cold weather, cross country travel are main factors for loss as I see it. If Pittsburgh had any sort of run offense and pass protection, it would be lopsided but because of their lack of running game and losing about 30-50 yards a game to sackage yardage on Roethlisberger, the game should be close.

If Tennessee's 2 defensive studs are back and healthy this week, I think they run the table.

The Chargers have played very well in the few occasions the teams have met during the post-season at Pittsburgh. Weather hasn't been a factor. They beat a Bradshaw-led team in 1982, I believe, and Stan Humphries (!!) at QB led an upset in '94/95 over a heavily-favored Steeler team.

Roethlisberger was hurt worse in the final regular season game than folks believe since a current report on Rotoworld says he lost feeling in his arms as he suffered the concussion.
