The Chris Jennings Bandwagon thread (1 Viewer)

Cleveland will get destroyed this weekend....don't see them running the ball that much unless it is just to keep the clock running and prevent them from getting pounded even worse......I know all starting RB's have some value, but this situation is probably one to just stay away from unless you have no other options.....

I see too much of a RBBC situation here. I think Jennings, Dorsey, and Harrison will split the carries.
Think you're right there but if San Diego scores like they did last week Cleveland will be forced to air it out and that'll greatly limit the production of any of those 3 rb's. I do however like Jennings better than the other 2 and just recently picked him up off waivers in a first year dynasty league. I have the space to hold on to him until our draft next year so we'll see how things work out for him. Before the season I liked Harrison's chances of getting more playing time and thought he was in line to take over the starting gig at some point this year from Lewis. What the hell happened? Did he piss somebody off or is it he can't stay healthy? Even if they sign Dorsey, who hasn't done squat the 3 years he was in the NFL, Jennings has decent size at 219 lbs and I think they're gonna give him the bulk of the workload the rest of the year to evaluate him for the future. Don't know the extent of his shoulder injury so it's questionable how much work he'll get this week but once he's healthy he'll be the starter. I feel pretty sure though that the Browns will either look to the draft or FA for a rb next year. I DON'T think they'll take a rb with their high 1st round pick though.Still, when Jennings is healthy I think the Browns are gonna give him his shot and we'll see how he does.Speaking of next year I forgot the Brownies have James Davis. He was put on IR for his knee I believe. Sure he'll get his chances next year if he's recovered from the injury.

I like Jennings' chances more than those of Harrison if only since Mangini has already seemingly decided that he doesn't want Harrison to be the guy. With Jennings, who knows.

Is Dorsey even on the team? I keep reading these posts about Dorsey but from what i've read ... He worked ourt for them and went home without a contract.

Some actual quotes from Mangini post-Jamal:

(On if the team needs another running back)- “We usually activate two more often than not. We’ll look at different guys. We’ve brought different guys in not just week but all throughout the course of the season at all positions. We have Thomas Brown on the practice squad. He’s done a nice job. We’ll evaluate all those things. Typically we bring two to the game and that’s what we have on our roster.”

(On if the team needs a running back better than who they already have)- “I think that both those guys (Jerome Harrison and Chris Jennings) have done a nice job when they’ve had opportunities. Jerome has had some good games. I like the progress that they’re making. I think Chris Jennings is a guy that has done a good job with the opportunities that he’s had and he’s working to create more opportunities and they’ll have that now. Again, you never want to see anybody injured or lost. It is a great opportunity for younger players or guys that maybe weren’t in that lead role to make a case for themselves and step up and be productive.”
http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/12175It seems like both will get their chance to prove themselves - we'll see if one can separate from the other.

It was a shoulder injury that occurred during a pads vs no-pads drill.

thoughts against KC this week?

lynch and Jackson combined for over 200 total yard against KC last week

Harrison played great week 13 and then Mangini switches it up and gives Jennings the lion's share of the carries week 14. Can anyone safely predict who will get the carries week 15? Mangini looks like he is making both players unstartable at this point unless you really have no other options.

Don't forget the talk of Cribbs getting a lot more carries out of the backfield.Definitely a risky situation, although I'm guessing that Jennings would get the goal line looks (if any).
