Name something you attempted to repair, that you had "no business" attempting... but succeeded anyways. 

Just saved myself about $2-300 on an espresso machine repair, but doing a ####ton of reading and video watching... some trial and error... and I guess a little luck.

I am garbage with repairs, and especially w electronic repairs, but I really wanted to try it out, and the repair guy around here is a total ##### and didnt wanna give me a basic answer to an inquiry.

Replaced the water pump in my Step-Dad's truck 20 years ago - had no previous car experience.  I managed to complete the job but swore I'd never do it again and haven't.

All kinds of car stuff. I'm almost to the point now where I know enough to get myself in trouble.

I was able to figure out how to fix my furnace a couple years ago.  Then to really impress everyone, I was able to fix a friends furnace a couple weeks later.

Needed to replace the faucet in the kitchen a few years ago.  Wound up replacing the faucet, sink and the hot and cold water valves (on purpose not necessity) under the sink.  Took me 2 days and 6 trips to Lowes/Home Depot but it turned out okay.  Obviously I'm not very good at do it yourself projects.
