I'm sort of waiting for the clock to strike midnight and the pumpkin to return, but Gibson has this team believing that they can win every game. Earlier in the year they lost 6 straight by 1 run, I figured that would doom them and make them lose confidence but the opposite happened. They are getting good starting pitching and some timely late inning hits.

Collmenter looks like he will be a stud and Kennedy is looking more and more like what everyone thought he might be a couple years ago.

The DBacks are on a tremendous run - whoulda thunk they would be in 1st place at any time this year?

They were unlucky in some of those earlier losses but have been lucky in the current 12/13 streak, but you are correct - on an average ML team, Gibson and his staff (let's not forget the contributions of Nagy and Baylor) have the team outplaying their talent. With more help on the way from the minors over the next couple of years, Arizona should again be competitive in the NL West......I just don't expect it to be this year

Big 7 game roadie for the snakes. 3 @ pitt and 4 @ florida. Would be nice to win 5 of those going into matchups against the AL

Looks like the race is going to go down to the wire.

Upton finally showing why he's the franchise's future. Lots of production from guys that weren't expected to produce at a high level (Roberts, Montero and Bloomquist)

Pitching has been incredible, especially the starters.

Arizona has some good looking pitching prospects in the pipeline
Yeah this team is really setup to be big time in the not so distant future. Let's hope management doesn't screw it up like they have in the past...although I have tons more faith in the current execs than the past.Getting to the playoffs this year will obviously be a huge boost, but the fans just aren't coming out, which is sad. I guess people are taking a wait and see approach becuase the team lost 95 games last year, but going into september up 6 games in the division? Jesus people, get out to the stadium....tickets are $5.

Looks like Kennedy will hit 20 wins this year (nojinx) pretty amazing considering where he was at just a couple seasons ago. What a steal!

Great job by Gibby and I have to think they would be a team you wouldn't want to play. Ian Kennedy can pitch with anybody right now.

I'm really looking forward to the likely D-Backs-Brewers matchup. I like the Brewers matchup wise, particularly if they get homefield, but that will be a heck of a battle. Unfortunately, they'll probably beat each other up too much to play what will be a rested Philly team off a 3-0 sweep off of whoever wants that.

I wish the Giants snuck in there, as I think their staff could have given Philly a scare in a 5 game series.

Barring a collapse by the Braves in the last week, the Phils will be playing either the Brewers or D-Backs in the first round. A D-Backs/Brewers first round matchup is highly unlikely.

Oh duh yes you're right, I was on fumes while posting. For some reason, I assumed Braves and Phillies played. It sounded good in my own head while exhausted. In that case, I hope the Brew Crew draws Philly. Grienke-Gallardo-Marcum could definitely stay in the game with Doc-Lee-Hamels. That would be some kind of intensity for 5 games.
