Just bought new shoes. I assume the resident metrosexuals won't approve.
Which skate park will you be practicing your ollies in this weekend?
The one down the street from your country club, Argyle.
Do you know because you caddy there?
Greasers v. Socs
:hophead: You can't win. You know that, don't you? It doesn't matter if you whip us, you'll still be where you were before, at the bottom. And we'll still be the lucky ones at the top with all the breaks. It doesn't matter.

Wednesday om Gilt there is a Brooks Brothers white shirt giveaway. I have no idea what the rules are or how you get one, but it's showing up on my Gilt iPhone app.

Link

Does this Gilt site ship to Canada?
pretty sure they ship to you Commies...if they don't, they're idiots. Use my invite link and I get a referral fee if you buy. You should find some great deals there if you're patient. They have these 80-90% off sales a few times a year. And yes, the Gilt iphone app can be problematic. I go out for lunch, waiting for food and bam, I just bought a sweater and a :goodposting: . I find the site great for quality/designer shirts, shoes, ties with the occasional suit or jacket (easy return policy) at deep discounts.

Major, just a heads up, looks like they removed the $25 referral fee like in the past. Now, it's invite 10 people and get free shipping.

you still get the $25...at least I did recently....the 10 invite thing doesn't involve sales....just getting names. you can just make up email addresses for that. Not sure when it'll catch up with me but that's another bonus of Gilt (free shipping) ;) edit: been perusing the site and it looks like they may have phased it out without telling anyone. I'm going to buy something from my girifriend's house on an invite and see if I get a credit. If not, I'll raise  with Gilt. Thanks for the heads-up GB

gilt had a Brooks Brothers white shirt for free deal at noon.

But

apparently you had to have the item in your cart ahead of time. Pretty much sold out at 12:00:05.

Any of the watches on Gilt right now a good deal?

http://www.gilt.com/sale/men/swiss-legend-wat-310

For the corporate FBG's - do you wear a watch every day?
I'm not corporate anymore. But I have an absolute watch fetish. It takes a lot of willpower for me to not go out and spend $1,800 on a Movado.
No offense jd but the first review there summed up my opinion of the watch.

I had this watch,i like it,its rich, elegant watch to ware, you do have to be rich to ware this watch.
I'm sure it works for some people but not for me.J

Ok. I'm not willing to share my info and set up an account just to look at a watch. So unfortunately I can't comment on the watch in question.

So looking at the first few pages, it looks like when this thread was first started 1.5 years ago, skinny jeans were mostly disliked, or at least written off as a "teenager" thing. I didn't have time to go through all 50 pages, just wondering if there are any other FBGs that have taken the plunge on skinny jeans? I am not talking about butt-tight girl jeans. But definitely tapered and noticeably more fitted than the usual boot-cut or straight leg jeans you see most guys wearing.

I am just about to turn 30. The wife has been bugging me to try a pair for a while. I recently lost 15 pounds on accident (mystery stomach problems), and we were out at a mall and she caught me in a weak moment and talked me into trying some on. They were on sale and we got them. I really like the look now and they are my favorite jeans, but this might have a lot to do with the fact that they are the only pair of jeans I have that really fit properly.

What do you guys think about "kinda" skinny jeans? I am gonna submit myself to ridicule and post a pic. Note that the picture actually makes them look a tad looser than they are, and the wife would want me to point out that she is in the slightly awkward "Is she pregnant or not?" stage in this pic.

I think you're referring to slim straight. It's really the only :style: of denim I wear...i think most FBGs are in favor of this :style: except for JTG who prefers bootcut.

Those jeans aren't skinny jeans. They're just jeans. Check out Levi's 514 for a good all-around jean for not a lot of coin. These are skinny jeans.

I'm not a fan BTW. They don't look good on me, and they just reek or "hipster #####" as well.

First photographic evidence in history of actual use of the fifth pocket.
:goodposting: On those particular jeans, the pocket is the perfect size for standard wallet stuff like your driver's license and credit cards. Interesting on the two "those aren't skinny jeans" responses. I've been lied to I guess! They say "Skinny - narrow leg" on the tag, and for me they felt like a big change when putting them on vs. my pairs of boot cut and straight leg jeans. Either way they are skinny enough for my wife so all is good.

Yeah those are not even remotely skinny jeans. Unless if by "skinny" you are comparing to Hammah pants or Zubaz.

Doesn't matter really what the tag reads, but those are not "skinny jeans". As others have said those look like slim straights which are the preferred :style:You're in the clear.

Have you guys ever tried this website? makeyourownjeans.com

You can can customize your fit and even things like chosing a button style.

I haven't used it but it seems a good value. I never seem to find jeans that fit perfectly. If they fit he butt then they are too tight around the waist. The waist fits then the butt is saggy. This might be my answer.

Hi Lehigh.Charles Tyrwhitt are fine.

In my opinion, the answers to your questions are:

slim fit, spread collar, single cuff, no iron.

If you travel at all "no iron" is a must.

I prefer slim-fit, non-pocket dress shirts with standard cuffs, narrow-ish (high) collars with collar stays (no buttons please). Spread collars look good with a nice tie, but without the tie, they look funny IMO. Although I have two sets of cuff links, I really don't like french cuffs at all. If I'm wearing a suit, maybe, but for a regular dress shirt, I don't like them.

I have a bunch of Ben Sherman shirts that I've bought over the years at Macy's and I really like them. They have enough style so as not to look too conservative, and enough tailoring and decent construction so as not to fall apart on me after laundering. I've had much worse luck with other brands. I'm a sucker for British mod inspired clothes updated for today's world though.

The reason I prefer a high collar is that I think they are a bit more elegant and they work better when worn under a sweater (like my man Quique here)

Jeans are fine, but I can make some suggestions otherwise...The 'undershirt' under the tshirt is not a good look, IMO. Why not just the clean tshirt?

I am very anti jeans with sandals. Jeans look a helluva lot better with shoes

:lmao: wear slip ons (think Vans) at least. Or better yet, get yourself a cool set of boat shoes. Lots of options now with the advent of Toms and the like. I only wear sandals with shorts.
