THE FBG Fashion Thread :style: (1 Viewer)

I can't speak for everybody in this thread, but my tastes and attitudes towards fashion fall somewhere between flapgreen and major.

I don't mind spending more on some quality pieces of clothing I really like and if I can get them at sale prices....all the better.
The difference is Major doesn't even own the bull#### he's talking about.

Somebody was looking for some t-shirts a while back. The Pima Cotton tees are $8 right now. Definitely my favorite tees
I used your BR codes to get three more pima cotton tees. Even got free shipping out of it because the sub total was over $50 even though the final total was $28 out the door.
Check the status of your order. It appears the codes weren't supposed to stack but they did. A lot of orders were cancelled without notification , including my own. Sucks for them. I actually spent money on their site for once and they cancelled it. Good luck getting my business again.

I don't mind the bargains being posted. But I can assure you that Major makes some serious coin and dresses very well.

I believe you. I see the amount of money he makes could be contributing to his approach on things. Making coin and bargain shopping aren't always mutually exclusive and there aren't different ideas on "fashion." If his ideas in here aren't schtick, I've met plenty of guys like him along the way. How much money you make or how much you spend on stuff doesn't affect how I view people.

I just can't get myself to pay over $40 for a pair of jeans
Geez dude. You can wear a nice pair of jeans multiple times a week for many years (as long as the cut is still in :style:)

Invest in staples....jeans, shoes, jackets. Look for deals on other stuff. You pair the cheaper stuff with the more quality staples and you still look like a million bucks.

There's a couple stacking codes you can use on Banana Republic right now. In the promotion box, enter Style25 for 25% off full price item, then enter BRFORTY for an additional 40% off. Does not apply to Blazers, unfortunately.
FYI, they cancelled my order for stacking codes

I may wear jeans once a week. I own a pair of Banana Republic Vintage, Gap Selvedge, and Levis 514s. I'm very active with my job so my chinos consist of BR, Nordstrom 1901s and now a pair of Bonbons. I need some nicer shoes at some point but I'm getting a few things at a time right now.

I get the investing in quality stuff thing, but I don't wear some things very often so wear and tear isn't a huge dealon some things. Fit is what is most important to me at this time. My wardrobe was garbage a year ago so iit's taking some time to get better fitting clothes. I'm not a hot shot lawyer or financial consultant like some around here in the northeast so it's not as big of a deal to buy all high end stuff. I get what you're saying, though.

Alright, fellas. Annual work trip to somewhere tropical coming up in a month. Need some resortwear that is modern and anti-old guy.

Well fitting shorts or board shorts, boat shoes or vans. I was going to get these but they're no longer on sale. http://www.brooksbrothers.com/Superga%C2%AE-Suede-Boat-Shoes/MH00128,default,pd.html?cmp=AFC_CJ_Skimlinks_**REDIRECT+LINK**&utm_medium=affiliates&utm_source=cj&utm_campaign=7112592&cvosrc=affiliate.cj.7112592

Love Cole Haan.Just realized I haven't bought a pair of jeans since I was 1984. Any suggestions?
Such a huge price range with jeans. I don't wear jeans over once a week, even less frequently in the summer, so I don't spend a lot on them. Raw denim looks nice but are uncomfortable to me. Not my thing. Some people swear by Gustin raw denim but I haven't tried them. I've also heard good things about Unbranded like this. http://m.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/m/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=16918336You can spend a lot on jeans if you want to. Nordstrom carries brands like Diesel and Naked and Famous that are over 100. I have a pair of Banana Republic Vintage and Levis 514s that look great and fit well. It depends on how much you want to drop on jeans, though. Jeans are one of the hardest things to get a great fit on imo. Try a lot of different brands. They all fit a little differently.
