Let's talk flip flops. I live in them during the summer.
Olukai? Rainbow? Sanuk? Other?
Olukai makes good ####, but find the right one for you. Too spendy not to...
Rainbow. Locals only, haha. Seriously, old school classics, but for me, too many better flip flops out there nowadays and I'm old and much prefer that comfort. Zero arch support and slippery leather surface that you slide around on so there is just no support. But if you're just Q'n or hanging around the pool and stuff, fine. If you're wearing them day-to-day, there's way better.
Sanuk. Pass.
Reef. Love reefs actually. Nice arch and grippy footbed that stays that way even with water or sweat or humidity. They last, not like Rainbows, but long enough. I've actually sent them back before just because I thought they should've lasted longer (this was years, haha) and they sent me a new pair. Stay away from the leather ones for reasons mentioned already - might as well go Rainbow anyway, if that's what you want. Stick with their basic stuff. I'm wearing the Fanning now, btw.
Stay away from the big surf co's like Billabong, Hurley, etc. They don't specialize in flip flops like Reef or Olukai. Oh, and especially Quicksilver, because everything they do/use is cheap, for real.
Hey, it is just a flip flop after all, so it's not like Billabong, who makes quality ####, will end up this big disappointment, but you did ask for a critique.
