Family Matter made a trade with Radballs. FM wants to move up and Rads wants to gain more picks.

Rads gave: 1.6, 13.6 & 15.6.

FM gave: 2.12, 4.12 & 9.1.

Family Matters also traded with Bri:

Bri gave 1.5 & 2007 2nd.

FM gave 1.6 & 2007 1st.

The trade enabled FM to acquire Shaun Alexander. Radballs wanted to gain more pick most likely due the starter requirements and depth in the 2nd-4th rounds.

I wasn't really prepared to go with Bush, but his potential in a Dynasty league is high. I'll probably be hurting a bit this year.

IF you weren't prepared to go with him and you didn't want to draft him then why1) did you draft him?, and

2) since you did, why are you complaining about it?

1. See post above2. I think you misconstrued what I was saying. I am not complaining nor did I say I "didn't" want to draft him. Just stating that it may hurt a little this season but the rewards should come later...

Team Legacy and Pimp'in Ain't Easy made the following trade:

Team Legacy gave up Year 2006 Draft Pick 3.10;Year 2006 Draft Pick 4.03;Year 2006 Draft Pick 7.10

Pimpin Ain't Easy gave up Year 2006 Draft Pick 2.09;Year 2006 Draft Pick 6.09;Year 2006 Draft Pick 9.04

I like what FM did, but I think he gave up to much to move up one spot.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
To move up one apot I swapped a 2007 1st for a 2nd. There is no way I get an Alexander in 2007. If would be a fluke.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
And you didn't think Brown or SJax were better picks anyway? Alexander has one more good year left.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's realsonable to think he has 2-3 great years still. Seems guys last a year or two longer than they used to. He's been healthy his whole career so it's possible. And yes I think he ouproduces all of them but LJ and LT so the upside is worth it. But that's just my opinion.

FM starts w/LJ, Alexander and now Westy in a PPR league

....this is going to require some serious luck on our part, as this team is going to be tought to beat for a while :X

If, and that's always an if, they stay healthy this team could be good. Alot will depepnd on what happens from here on out. Funny thing is this wasn't my strategy to begin. I had to modify right out of the gate. I will share it later when it's the right time.

Start 1QB 2RB 2WR 2FLEX (WR,TE,RB) 1D/ST 1PKSo yes you can. It's best score starting lineup anyway.

 Up to 4, best ball.

PAE & ffweasel made the following trade:

PAE gave 4.3 & 10.9.

ffweasel gave 4.4 & 10.4.

ffweasel then took Roy Williams and PAE was mad. Go figure?

Only mad at myself. Should have known better. I'm still happy with AJ though. I'm over it. I really needed to move up in 10 since I don't have a pick in the 9th.

I thought he was gonna go another direction all together, that's why I made the deal.

I'll be back in albany tomorrow for 10 days then home for 4

Jeff aka wannabe is going to step in for me when/if needed

(link for him just in case)

http://football8.myfantasyleague.com/2006/...ns?L=58990&O=17

The way I figure it I'll check in the morning and night. I'll predraft if there's only a few picks ahead of me otherwise I'll send Jeff my thoughts/ideas and let him make the pick. Pretty sure this is coverred and I won't hold up this draft.

I like my team thus far although I wanted Shockey. Jamal had about as stressful an offseason as could be and wrecked his ankle before last season. I don't know how long his body will hold up but I still think he's a top 10 back. I don't agree with the rankings knocking him down at this point

5-11 DeShaun Foster

6-1 Alge Crumpler

Pretty happy to make the turn with those two - Foster with the late bye and injury history and push from the rook may be a good balance for me with Maroney.

OTOH - Not sure I agree with Team Legacy's declared strategical reason for picking McChunky - not that I disagree with the pick - yes, his value there was off the chart and I wrestled with taking him on the turn and maybe should have. BUT I don't think TL will get the trade value he suggests - unless a team that proves to be loaded loses a QB to injury and sees it as the only alternative - otherwise with only twelve teams, there will be lots of replacements on the WW

BUT I don't think TL will get the trade value he suggests - unless a team that proves to be loaded loses a QB to injury and sees it as the only alternative - otherwise with only twelve teams, there will be lots of replacements on the WW

Those are great picks and Foster was a steal for sure. With 3 RB's already on board, there was no way for me to take him. So you got a nice surprise there Capt.

Absolutely good value. I had predrafted Crumpler, Foster, and McNabb and thought I would get Foster. TL's pick of McNabb surprised me as he already had Manning.

I am not a fan of Foster and felt he was well on his way to a mediocre career before the Panthers drafted Williams. That just accelerated Foster's demise IMO.

As for the McNabb pick, I don't think he was that great a value relatively speaking. He was the 5th QB taken and without Owens I have a hard time seeing him rank in the Top 5. Try making some projections for the Eagles and clue me in where all the production will be going to get McNabb into the Top 5 at QB.

McNabb was on his way to a Top 5 finish the year he got hurt (without Owens). However, in a standard scoring league his rankings have been 37, 5, 8, 13, 13, 3, and 20. I see the Eagles making a concerted effort to run more, and despite what others may say, I think the days of McNabb chipping in 500/6 in rushing are gone. McNabb has now been injured a fair amount, and I'm wondering if he now falls into an injury risk category.

As for the strategy element, I find this a curious maneuver. It's one thing to load up on a position with the ability to play them all, but it's impossible to score both Peyton and Donovan in the same week. In terms of trade value, there are a lot of QBs to chose from, and I'm not sure what the trade value will be to bump up a team's QB scoring by a couple points.

IMO, this may not work out for the best but I do give props for trying to formulate a strategy.

I agree with your points David, but why then did you take two stud TEs? The TEs can't be flexed in with RBs or WRs so you're only starting one of them each week. Exactly one TE has to be started each week. Just curious, if you are just banking on having a big week from one of them each week or if you incorrectly read the starting requirements and thought you could flex the TEs.

Ollie, Tight Ends CAN be flexed bro.

Not accoring to the league by laws under the rules tab. Copied and pasted below:Starting Lineup Setup

Total Starters: 10

Number of Starting QBs: 1

Number of Starting RBs: 2-4

Number of Starting WRs: 2-4

Number of Starting TEs: 1

Number of Starting PKs: 1

Number of Starting Defs: 1

Should starting lineups be hidden from all owners until after kickoff of the first game of the week? No

That looks to me like only RBs and WRs can be flexed.

PS - I went back to the rules sent out thinking what Ollie quoted might just be a site deal, but it just says 2 FLEX without defining it any more

Here's what I had emailed FM on draft day for clarification . . .

I had even emailed FM for a copy of the rules first and then asked him direcetly to clarify. That's why I took 2 TE and never thought twice about it.

I do recall that e-mail now that you mention it. I guess I was wrong. Maybe Mike needs to change it in the website by laws. Great stud TE draft strategy Yuds. :D

I'm on the clock and I kinda need for us to figure out what the rules are and whether I need to modiy my strategy (assuming that I actually have one).

I agree, that it's misleading. I was confused as well, but FM also posted a message on the chat board that TE could be used as a flex. When you drafted Heap, I knew what your plan was.

If you want to wait, thats fine with me, but there is no doubt in my mind that TE can be used a flex.

BTW I like the approach, and your team. Very nice start.

TE's can be used for flex. Flex can be:

RB/WR/TE.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew when David quoted your e-mail that I had seen it before. I've got so many leagues going on simultaneously that I think I'm losing my mind. I referred to the website though a few days ago and saw that it was only 1 TE so I got my thinking turned around.

Why, are you considering a third one already?
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Yes, and I took one. Long story short, given the scoring system, the WAY weekly scores are computed, the starting lineup requirements, and position scarcity taking another TE was my best option here. You guys are all pretty smart, you can figure out why on your own or wait until later on when I have time to explain it in greater detail.

I understand what you're doing, but it remains to be seen whether it works or not. However, if the extra 1 ppr for TEs over a bunch of similarly ranked, available wide receivers is that big of a difference then you'll have a nice advantage.
