The Footballguys Bowl! - Was "Interest In A Footballguys Subscriber League?" (1 Viewer)

We have not started so far. A couple missing, so they may be waiting hoping to get everyone online.
I hope this isn’t a thing.

I draft Monday morning and have a tight window to fit it in. If people don’t show up, that’s on them.

It looks like we had 2 drafts this morning that did not autostart on time. I apologize.

Every draft should start on the set time and if someone isn't there, they will be put on autodraft.

Every team was sent several notifications about the start time and if they can't make it, it's not fair to hold up the other GMs who are there.

This has been solved for the 2 leagues and should not happen again.

If your league does not start on time, please send an email to fbgcommish@footballguys.com and they'll handle.

Thank and apologies for the trouble for folks in those 2 leagues that were slow to start.

I just drafted Quentin Johnston in the 18th. I feel filthy. At that point, feel like it's worth the swing on the upside. Confident he'll be dropped soon.

Here is my team, with my thoughts that are still fresh in my head...

QB - Kyler Murray - 7.82 - 9th QB off the board, chosen over Love, who went a few a picks later
RB1 - Derrick Henry - 2.15 - 7th RB taken, ADP says it's a few picks early, but I scooped him up regardless
RB2 - Rachaad White - 4.39 - 14th RB taken, and I love him this year, get ready for another 300 touch season
WR1 - AJ Brown - 1.10 - 7th WR taken, and was oh so happy to see Garrett Wilson go just before him
WR2 - Deebo Samuel - 3.34 - 18th WR taken, and was amazed he fell. Nico went 3 picks earlier
WR3 - Rashee Rice - 6.63 - 29th WR taken - He won't be getting suspended in 2024
TE - Taysom Hill - 14.159 - 17th TE taken, My plan worked! FYI - Taysom finished TE9 & TE12 the last 2 seasons, even in full PPR
Flex1 - James Conner - 5.58 - 20th RB taken - Barring injury, another workhorse RB who doesn't leave the field
Flex2 - Jameson Williams - 9.106 - 51st WR taken, got him at FBG's ADP, but many thought he was wayyyyyyyyy undervalued
D - Dallas Cowboys - 15.178 - 4th D taken - planned on waiting a few more rounds, but said what the heck

Bench
QB - Jayden Daniels (12.135), Bo Nix (20.231)
RB - Nick Chubb (8.87), JK Dobbins (11.130), Jaylen Wright (13.154), Audric Estime (18.207)
WR - Wandale Robinson (16.183), Quentin Johnston (17.202), DJ Chark (19.226)
TE - TJ Hockenson (10.111) He's my real TE when he returns!

Overall, I like the team from the 10 spot. Very thin at WR, but I like my 2nd half chances with my bench RB's. All or nothing, baby!

Ps. Live sync to Draft Dominator was AWESOME! Thanks @Joe Bryant and team.

Can’t wait til it works for a yahoo since my long time (28 years!) league has used them forever.
Seconding this...live sync works great.

Its better than the actual Sleeper app itself that was laggy and didn't update unless closed and reopened.

Daniels in the 12th? ADP is next to useless right now.

Yeah, he went right between Darnell Mooney and Xavier Legette :P

Keep those links coming! These drafts are so much fun to compare, and I have another 12-team redraft coming up in a few days, from the 2 spot.

Fwiw, I didn’t have that problem at all. Sleeper draft open on my desktop web browser (Ethernet connected) and Draft Dominator open on my iPad (Wi-Fi) with live sync on. Ymmv.
Nice draft!

QB: Kyler (7.8), Levis (19.8)
RB: Bijan (1.8), R White (4.5), Z White (8.5), Moss (10.5), Ford (11.8), Hubbard (12.5), J Hill 17.8
WR: MHJ (2.5), Deebo (3.8), Ridley (6.5), C Watson (9.8), Legette (13.8), Pearsall (15.8), QJ (18.5)
TE: Andrews: (5.8), Taysom Hill (14.5)
Def: Cle (16.5), Houston (20.5)

A few of my thoughts, strategies, etc.

In general, for PPR, I really want one of the top 5 WR. I want one of the top 10 QB's. After the top 4 or 5, I have a hard time separating them. Love, Dak, and Kyler seem to go towards the end, and I do like all of those guys a tier better than Purdy.

I also really like Hubbard and Ford as early season guys. And I know some are going to say you need late season guys. But I find we spend so much of fantasy football trying to plug in the holes at RB. I'm expecting both to start for their respective teams to open the season and continue to see significant work as the injured guys get worked back in.

1st round: Bijan--best player on the board.

2nd round: I really like some of the RB's going in the 4th round, so I wanted to lean WR here. My ideal/seemingly safe plan was to target Olave here. He went 1 pick before me at 2.4. MHJ felt like the best WR at that point. Need him to find that ceiling fast.

Round 3: Give me 1 of Nico, Evans, Waddle, Deebo. Kyren Williams SPIRALED, and I was going to pull the trigger, but he went just before me. Achane made it to me, but too many guys I had close to him.

Round 4: The plan for this draft was 1000% Alvin Kamara. He went a few picks after me in the third, which is earlier than I've seen him, but good pick, get your guy. Rachaad White fell, and while I'm not his biggest advocate, in PPR, that felt like a decent value.

Round 5: Hoping for any top 5 tight end. Andrews made it back.

Round 6: 1000% Rashee Rice. He went end of the 5th. Pivot to Calvin Ridley Considered Lamar to stack with Andrews. Lamar felt like good value there. But there was SO MUCH QB value on the board and WR was fleeting.

Round 7: I've got Kyler at QB5, and love getting to pair him with MHJ.

Round 8: I've got Z White as like RB24, the last RB2. He's not a guy I have a ton of, but again, liked the value

Guy in the 1 spot in my draft waited on RB's and ended up with:
RB1 - Devin Singletary
RB2 - Trey Benson
RB3 - Ty Chandler
RB4 - Marshawn Lloyd
RB5 - Kimani Vidal
RB6 - Clyde Edwards-Helaire

OK, he was an autodrafter, but his team was comical. He also went back to back with Rome/Keenan at the 6/7 turn

My team from the 10 spot:

QB: Burrow, Stafford
RB: JT, Barkley, Mostert, Mclaughlin, Bigsby, Dillon
WR: Kupp, Evans, Higgins, Ridley, Hopkins, G. Davis, Bateman, Leggette
TE: Njoku, Hockenson

I am pretty pleased with this team. Pretty solid in every area.

Some really nice value fell to you at WR. Nice job.

great team. jayden might become your QB1, he's one of my favorites to draft
surprised you landed dobbins. didn't think you were a fan. missed out on him in my draft

Drafting from the 6 hole

QBS Tua 12 ; Cousins 13
RBS Breece 1; kyren williams 2; a jones 5; d Singletary 9; jk dobbins 11; Bucky Irving 15; J hill 18
WRS Deebo 3; DJ Moore 4; Odunze 7; JSN 8; Mike Williams 10; L McCafrey 16; M Corley 17; Tolbert 19
TE Kittle 6; Gesecki 20
Def SF 14

Missed out on Nabers (took DJ) and DHenry (Kyren) by one slot, tried to load up on some upside rookies and 2nd year plays later. Defense went late and waited on QB until rd 12 which was much later then I had planned… I did want to get one of the top 8 TEs so happy with Kittle in RD 6

my advice if you want a guy in this draft you need to take him a round earlier than your mocks
