The future for Lendale White (1 Viewer)

I am pretty sure (barring injury) that Lendale will be some where else next year. What do you predict he will be more like next year? What is his upside?

Ehhh... he'd be an upgrade over what Seattle has, and maybe good in Washington? Cleveland? San Diego? Philly?

I don't know... But, there is a place for him. He has been much quicker this year and has some good skills.

Never been a big fan of him as a prospect. I lean more towards the Duckett analogy, though I could see him having a bit more success than TJ did after switching teams.

I cannot imagine him being closer to Turner than Duckett... IMO he hasn't shown any of what Turner did prior to going to ATL... he's shown more Ron Dayne qualities than M Turner.

I think he's definitely worth the shot, and the time to buy is now before new team hype begins in the offseason.

If he were anything like Turner the Titans wouldn't have spent two years spending high draft picks to replace him. He is what he is...a short yardage back/backup RB.

Not for nothing, but The Whale has already nearly matched Todd Jeffrey's career numbers for yards in about 3.5 seasons(one and a half of which have amounted to almost nothing). He may not be any great shakes, but he's probably already better than Duckett ever was.

Athletically, he's not even in the same class as Turner.

If some team ever decides to just give him the ball 18-20 times a game he'd probably wind up beig Rudi Johnson: He'll get you a "boring" 1100-1200 yards rushing, meager receiving yardage and 8-12 total TDs.

That said, I don't know that any team will ever give him that many touches again.

that's exactly what the Titans did 2 years ago. They gave him the ball 304 times and he ran for 1108 and 7 tds (3.6 ypc). I can't see any team giving him starter money. Last year Fisher utilized him absolutely perfectly and I think any team that would acquire him would look to do the same thing.

Athletically, he's not even in the same class as Duckett, either.White doesn't remind me of either of these guys. He's more like a broken down Bettis. He can move the pile, he can be elusive at times, has good footwork, but you know he's going to have more clunkers than good games. I think he still has some talent but I'm not sure if physically he's ever going to be right. Losing all that tequila-induced weight doesn't make him bigger and stronger, which is what he needs to be.
