The "I started Kirk Cousins vs the Giants" support group (1 Viewer)

Does choosing Garcon over Edelman last minute in Fanduel count? Because he came nowhere close to his two points per $1000.

But sorry to those who actually started Cousins. Maybe you can pick up McCoy for next week.

This forum must lead the free world in "support groups"...

Newsflash: fantasy football doesn't always go as planned. Suck it up.

I started him over Peyton Manning playing bye. I haven't checked yet, but perhaps 0 is better than what Cousins got me.

i used my league manager powers to cut him from my team tonight so i wouldnt have to wait until Tuesday... 5.5 points... oh and my opp. had larry donnell... f me

I cut Eli to grab Cousins two weeks ago. Started him because I had Dalton on a BYE.

My opponent this week acquired Eli and started him against me.

The definition of chasing points
Not really.
Actually it is text book. An average player who had a career week the game before so everyone jumps on and expects him to do it again. Read the thread. People benched Cutler, who has been great this week. People benched Romo and he has a great match up this weekend.
I started him last week also. Maybe should have gone with Romo, but I'm not sure I was chasing as much as playing my hot hand. It's not like Romo has been very good.

I have no problem with people rolling the dice with Cousins over fringe QB1's like Brady and Romo. I heard some people talking about benching Stafford and Rodgers for him. That was silly.

brady a fringe qb1? he is almost ranked dead last in fantasy points for qbs...

He was ranked as one before the season. Therefore people starting to bail on him after last weeks' abysmal performance against the Raiders.

It's not "chasing points" when a player puts up a high score 2 weeks in a row. Most people acquired him after he scored 20 points and he rewarded those owners by scoring 30 the following week.

Cousins averaged 300 yards and 1.8 TDs per game in his 5 previous starts.

If that's "textbook", then show me another player who did something similar.

I also started him last week. I'm more bummed really over his outlook now for the rest of the year. I thought I had a long term solution for Brady.

Now he's got no shot at keeping the starting job. Maybe one of the two rookies is the way to go.

I feel bad for the guy who was building the statue outside of FedEx field. He was about 3/4th done and they told him to stop and take it down.

It was the Giants, on a short week.... on primetime. Kid never had a chance, especially with that gameplan.

And dammit if the Giants appear to have reinvented themselves and are starting to click.

It felt like they fell apart after the Paul injury. NYG was clamping down on the WRs even early on, but Paul and Helu each were able to pop off some nice gains in the seam and underneath. Once Paul went down, Cousins seemingly remembered he's a backup QB.

Pretty much every fantasy site recommended Cousins over Romo, including this one.

Each of Romo's first two starts netted all of two more points than Cousins' output in this disaster. Last week his team trailed all game and trusted him to throw a grand total of 23 passes. LOL at trusting Romo, he's already Cousin'ed people twice.

You're chasing reputation. Textbook case.

Well I started him and went up against Larry Donnell of course. Hate having players playing on Thursday nights, now I'm stewing about it till Sunday.

Ah, the joys of the stupid Thursday night game... Another home team blow out as the short week makes it tough on the away team. When will the NFL drop the dumb Thu night game idea?

I'll respond since I benched Cutler. I didn't consider Cousins performance from last week a guarantee he was getting 400+ and multiple TDs this week. He did have some good FF performances at the end of the year last year too so it's not like we only had one game to look at. Cousins had the better match-up going into the game than Cutler. GB shut down Stafford @ DET last week. I also have Forte and wanted to diversify my lineup this week because my opponent isn't very good - and CHI might lean on Forte because GB hasn't been good against the run. All the projections I saw before the game had Cousins and Cutler very close. The home teams in Thursday night games have been dominant so far this year. Given all this, I decided to go with Cousins in what I thought was a close call. So yeah, that's not really chasing points.

In hindsight, it was wrong obviously. But who saw the 5 turnovers by Cousins coming? That's what really killed his performance in my scoring system. 250, 1 TD and 1 INT would have been good enough for me given all the stuff I mentioned above. Instead we got this #### punch performance.

:pokey:

23 years of this "hobby" and I don't believe I've ever had a player have 15 points at the half and finish with 10.
Best post I've read in forever. So true.

This is such a strange year. Might be just what I need to kick this bad habit and I say that not even owning Cousins...I just can't take the craziness anymore. LOL.
