the middle rounds (1 Viewer)

been doing alot of mocks lately and i have a good strategy for the first 5 rounds. most do and really any strategy i have looked over so far works out pretty well in the first 5. it is these 3 rounds that have me stumped. normally there is a guy like earnest graham in there who is good but slides.

derrick ward is the closest thing this year and he can be hard to get because everyone is trying to get him in the 6th after they passed him in the 5th.

mcgahee and jamal lewis are good but very risky. i love felix jones here which seems a good place to add him in the 6th. i know very early based on his ADP but i like him alot. i am tempted just to go auto pick strategy and get a good D, good kikcer, and a backup QB while everyone else goes for hines ward and the like.

anybody have some guys they like in those rounds, or good advice. these are the team building rounds but i love a few guys in the late rounds to produce alot more than those middle guys, and drafting there kind of kills the value.

thanks for the help.

In 10 team league...this is based on Fantasy Football Calculator mocks from a couple of weeks ago. Seems like you can see what's avail in these few rounds that you like, then decide to fill out your roster where you need to in the earlier rounds (and later, with your sleepers):

Round 6:

QB Romo

RB D. Ward, McFadden, W. Parker, Re Bush

WR De Jackson, S. Holmes

TE Gonzo, D. Clark

Round 7:

QB Schaub

RB J. Stewart, LJ, Felix, Donald Brown, R. Rice (moving up?)

WR A. Gonzo, L. Moore, S. Moss, E. Royal, L. Evans

TE Olsen

Round 8

QB Cutler, Palmer, Ryan

RB J. Jones, Cedric

WR Avery, Coles, Berrian, Crabtree

TE Winslow

Round 9

QB Cassell, Edwards, Orton, Big Ben

RB Mendenhall

WR Holt, Breaston, Cotchery, H. Ward

TECooley, Daniels

This is where I'll get my qb. McNabb, Rogers, or Romo in the 6th or 7th.
2pt passing TDs and 1 pt per 50 yds passing eh? MFL ADPs show that there isn't much chance of those guys being around in even the 6th.
Really? Haven't looked at MFL yet. But I've done about 20 mocks at FFC...and 1 of the 3 has been there at the end of the 6th at least every time. How accurate are MFL ADP right now, considering how few drafts they've probably had?

Tough to tell - though not much difference in where McNabb is going between the 19 drafts since July 15 and the 57 since July 1. I only look at real drafts because the mocks have too many autodraft and people playing around.Result Of 57 Drafts For The 2009 Season

Good info, thanks. I should have clarified...I'm in a 10-teamer. So looks like Warner, Romo, and McNabb are still falling to the 6th and 7th for me.
