The most horrible thing you've ever seen... (1 Viewer)

We were coming back from a camping trip upstate and these guys went flying past us on some motorcycles. Only a few seconds later all the break lights went on. Debri everywhere and I saw a guys head inside his helmet, by itself on the road.

Jesus, that's awful. I've never seen anything even close to that. I might win for worst thing I've ever smelled, but it can't touch your horror story.

You might. Mine involves both sight and smell. Don't care to relive it.

Sorry you've got that image, that's a tough one.
My wife actually tops me. I actually started a thread on it when she called me. She was maybe 3 steps from being killed. A guy jumped the sidewalk with a van right in front of her. Crushed two women against a wall. She was inches from being hit, watched the guy climb out of the drivers side window since the door wouldn't open, and try to help one of the women but wound up ripping the top half of her body to the ground. Just sick.

Wait so you saw someone decapitated and your wife saw someone's body sliced in half?

Where do you live?

Bike race about 5 years ago. Guy in front of me 50 yards hit some gravel and crossed the center line on a mountain descent. He was around a curve when I heard all hell break loose. Head went into the wheel well. As I went flying by taking stock of bottles and bike debris bouncing everywhere, the guy's blood was spewing from his neck like a fire hose. I rode to the next aid station to get help but knew the guy was dead within seconds after I went by. He was a 35 yo doctor at Wake Forest with two kids. I don't ride a 1/10th of the miles I used to and am that ##### in the back on descents.

I saw a motorcyclist come over the top of the hill and head down the road, hit a pothole, and slam face first (wearing a helmet) into the road halfway down the hill and come to a stop in the ravine near the front of my childhood home. I got my mom and saw nothing else at 7-8 years old. She had called 911 and ran out to keep him company until paramedics arrived.

To this day, I actually don't know if he lived or died. My very foggy and childish recollection of the moment doesn't believe he did. It was a long, scary slide down the road even with a helmet. He was out of control for a long time skidding across the asphalt.

Not nearly as bad, but I remember seeing a wrecked car where the drivers seat was essentially pancaked.
As bad as the accident was above, I'll never forget passing by an accident scene on Thanksgiving morning and seeing some young girl standing by the car screaming that she killed her mom. I could see a human shape in the car. Sick to my stomach for several days thinking of the hell that girl was going though and how thanksgiving would always be a horrible day for her.

A compound fracture during a soccer game. Clash of shins which didn't end well for the unlucky guy on the other team. The sound was sickening. I remember seeing his leg bend in half between his knee and ankle. His screams haunt me to this day.

Damnit, I thought this thread was just going to be full of Christo chicks.

Heavy stuff in here. Apparently, I've lived a lucky life so far to not have seen anything close to these things.

I seen something very similar. Leaving a local bar, we are walking out to our car and we hear a crash. A bunch of us run towards the road and see a motorcycle that ran into the back of van, but can't see a person. We search the side of the roads and find nothing. Then someone spots a blood trail on the road, we follow it. He slid like a 1/4 mile down the road and is face down. We were all sure he was dead, but one guy got the courage to go roll him over to make sure. When he rolled him over not everything stayed inside.

Found a 13 year old girl on my rounds, who had hanged herself. Had to lift her down from the door, and then needed the cutdown knife to cut the ligature. Started CPR and when the paramedics got there, she had a pulse. She died 3 days later.

I will never ever forget the dead eyes

This thread won't last long...

Mine is 13-14 years ago in NYC. Was walking and heard sirens and cops on foot/bike running past me heading towards a church. I crossed the street to go check it out. At this point an ambulance and multiple cop cars have blocked things off, but I was able to get pretty close since it basically happened right next to me. I watched as paramedics wheeled out a guy that had blown his head off in the church. He was still alive and I don't think he made it, but to this day I can still remember the smell of blood and image of the chunk of meat that used to be a mans face.

Well, I seen the aftermath......figure I will give background, I had a frat brother that always get wasted and want to fight. For whatever reason this night he wanted to play peace maker. There were two people fighting just down the block from out frat house. He decided to breakup the fight cause one guy was getting beat down. When he approached, don't know how he approached the guy attacked him. In his words he got he a couple times and the guy ran off. Well he didn't get hit, he got cut. The biggest one was from his left cheek under his lips to the right side of his face, the next was a cut on his right cheek to his chin. He went to the hospital but the told him to come back at 8 am when the someone would be there to stitch him right. My girlfriend at the time lived right above him and I held the gauge on his face until morning when he could go back. The 3rd and 4th cuts that barely missed were more scary. They were not deep but on his neck over the jugular on each side. He is lucky to be alive.

You have some odd obsession over me. Go #### your self.

I came upon a hit and run on a pedestrian. The victim lost his leg right below the knee. You could see the calf muscle just hanging there. I was 12 and the only person on the scene. I was able to flag down some help and use my belt too slow down the bleeding. The guy was in shock and did not seem like he was all there. He was very quite the whole time. There were shotgun shells all around him. It turned out he was on his way to kill his ex-girl friend. His six year-old son was found hiding in the wood nearby the accident. Poor kid was going to see his dad kill someone if his dad was not hit by that red corvette. Either way, it was a #### night for that kid.

I saw a man self immolate. By the time I was able to put him out he was a blistered, peeling, stinky mess smelling of burnt flesh and gasoline. The most memorable part was his initial screams. Screaming through superheated gas and fire has a strange quality, just as talking through helium does, but more frightening. His second sounds, after inhaling once and presumable completely cooking his throat and vocal cords was more of an inhuman mewling. By the time I got to him he was not making a sound. He was still moving when the flight for life arrived minutes later but he died in transport.

That was more impactful to me than a neighbor I had known throughout my boyhood committing suicide by shotgun. He cut himself in half. His mother heard the sound and asked my Dad and I to investigate.

I also saw my older brother run over by a motor boat when I was 11.

I have been out to many crime scenes over the years and seen gunshot head wounds and once a hooker cut open from neck to pelvis, and I mean cut open, not just cut.

I've also seen some horrors in Columbia, Panama, and Ethiopia.

The world has its horrors. I try to remember the good things, green grass, snow covered hills, Christmas lights, girls in sun dresses.

I've seen the videos that'll get you ten years or so apiece. Wouldn't wish that on anybody.

I didn't see it live, but during the Red Sox game last night a young lady in the second row was hit in the head or neck with a broken bat. Just awful stuff. She is still clinging to life this morning. I think this will be the impetus for netting being put up at baseball stadiums. Warning, there is a graphic picture in the link attached, and the video of her being carted off the field is pretty disturbing as well. I was sitting in similar seats in Baltimore years ago with my son, who was about 8 at the time, and a line drive was hit right at him. I was fortunate to get myself in front of him just in time, only because I was paying attention. I "took one for the team" so to speak, and almost broke my forearm. Scared the living #### out of me, though my son thought it was the coolest thing ever. The only good part about it was Heidi Whatney came over after the inning to check on me. It was a very hot afternoon in Baltimore and Heidi was sweating quite a bit in her clingy white top. Made the whole ordeal worthwhile actually.

EDIT - I think I found the white clingy shirt that Heidi was wearing that fateful day in Baltimore. Bonus link attached - http://becuo.com/heidi-watney-quick-pitch. Did I mention she was sweating profusely?

Something similar happened when I was a kid on the street I grew up on. Two motorcycles were flying down the street and came across a tractor trailer crossing the intersection. They hit the trailer part. It didn't end well for either of them.

Early theme here: Irresponsible motorcyclists. Shocker.
How so? What an ignorant statement. One story involved a pot hole. How is that the riders fault?
But the other three were speeding, racing, speeding into the back of a van.
We don't know if they were speeding either.
The OP clearly stated the guy was speeding past him. The second one specifically said "bike race". The van...it's safe to assume if you slid a quarter mile down the road you were going too fast or you were not able to react to brake in time (aka distracted or tailgating).

Read the first few posts and had to stop. Jesus I hope I never see anything like this.

Years ago a guy at work sent a compilation video of this kind of thing so I know enough about what it looks like.

I thought you were asking. I was gonna say the Entourage movie. Yours is worse--that sounds so horrible. :(
