The Offical Annual complaint to the NFL for no SNF (1 Viewer)

No Sunday Night Football thanks to the world series... every year theres a thread about it, so I figured to get it out of the way now... post your complaints here

The fact that most of America would watch an NFL preseason game over a playoff baseball game could be a factor in this decision. :goodposting:

No, "I have two more players going on Sunday night and I'm only down by 83 points -- I'm still alive!" hopes.

 Ack... don't remind me... will be a boring Sunday night next week... atleast I won't be stuck watching more and more of the political propaganda commercials then. ( Which brings to question, if someone things they will win, why do they keep spending gazillions of dollars on propaganda commercials? Brainwash tactic maybe... hmmm... )

As a Philadelphia fan, I don't mind it this year. We been waiting a looooooonnnnnggggggg time for this.

Baseball? BASEBALL? Heck, I thought the baseball season ended back in June? Oh wait, it was only the Indians' season that ended in June! :banned:

Why not air the SNF game and THEN see what the ratings are compared to the baseball game?

I wonder what the outcome would be...

World Series takes precedent over regular season football. Deal with it

There should be a thread on what an absolute disgrace it is that there is a regular season NFL game in London this week.

NFL Media: Scheduling Conflicts Between World Series, MNFNFL Senior VP/PR Greg Aiello, when asked "whether the NFL was irritated" by MLB's decision to change the scheduling of the World Series, said, "No. We cannot control what baseball does." In Milwaukee, Bob Wolfley noted a potential World Series Game Five in Denver would be played on Monday, October 29, opposite Packers-Broncos, but Aiello said it is "not likely" that the NFL would consider scheduling Sunday night games during the World Series if MLB continues to put World Series games on Mondays. MLB President & COO Bob DuPuy said MLB and the NFL have "a very cooperative relationship" regarding scheduling issues. DuPuy said, “Our schedulers regularly communicate with each other about not only shared facilities but also playing the same day in cities where there might be overlap” (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 10/19).

So, a "very cooperative relationship" is one where the NFL says they won't schedule a game on Sunday, but MLB would consider scheduling a game on Monday. The NFL should say F it, and do what they want.

Baseball was great. 50 years ago.
So true...our great grandparents played with wooden spoons and crapily (yes, that is a word on my vocabulary) carved animals also made of wood, but we have moved on. Don't think for a second your Great Uncle Moe would have ditched that silly paddle with the ball attached for a little PS3 action.Every time I see a 30-something teaching their kid to play ball, I just groan. It really is a dead, boring sport...and don't start with the "strategy" crap...You have a guy on your bench that hits .450 against lefties and the guy on deck hits .180...yeah, you may want to make a substitution...Rant over

Rays/Red Sox game 7 actually outdrew Bucs/Seahawks on Sunday night. And that was for a cable channel (TBS).

Granted, part of that is probably due to the Rays outdrawing the Bucs locally in Tampa Bay (27 rating vs 16.8 rating), but still.

That's like saying that all football players do is run around with a ball and tackle each other.

You mean you want to use actual facts and data in this conversation? Good for you. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/weekend-tv-ratings.htm

NFL may be king of sports, but League Championships are >> regular season games for the majority of all-sports fans.

Arizona at Carolina would be a great SNF game.
Too bad they can't predict who will be in the World Series before they make the NFL schedule. I think an Eagles/Buccaneers SNF game would be classic going up against the World Series.Baseball Sucks!

Why? They dont want to loser viewers
Lose viewers? What are you talking about? As it stands they are getting 0 viewers for SNF, because there is no game. If there were a game they'd have millions. I'm sure some would watch baseball, but as it stands they are losing a full game.

Its got more to do with the business of selling advertising. NBC probably has a big say in this whole thing.

:towelwave: This guy knows stuff when it comes to scheduling. BTW, I haven't watched MLB since the strike that wiped out the Expo's shot at the post-season - they destroyed the sport's creds with that strike, IMO.

I hope the NFL and NFLPA have paid attention to how long it took MLB to recover from that disastrous strike.

Plz no strike NFLPA! Plz no lockout NFL Owners!
