THE OFFICIAL "I'M STARTING LEON WASHINGTON OVER ..." THR (1 Viewer)

I am considering him over Brandon Jacobs, but haven't made up my mind yet.
The original thread subject line got cut off so I am not sure if you mean you are getting return points and that is what you are banking on? If that is the case - how much can the Chiefs put up this week with LJ out and Thigpen throwing the rock? I think Leon is a great plugin when you get the return yardage but I dont see that happening.

No points for return yards, just banking on a massive rushing effort by the Jets. I see the Jets running game getting 40+ carries this week. TJ will get 20-25, I think Leon could get 12-15.

I was considering him over Jacobs because the Steelers give up nothing against the run. Even to a good rushing team like the Jags, the Jags' leading rusher was Taylor with 19 yards (and MJD had 10 I think).

This isn't supposed to be a WDIS thread, I'm just wondering if anyone else is jumping on the "start everyone, even the backup RB of the team that plays the Chiefs" bandwagon.

One more thing. The here's the Chiefs past performance against the run:

Against Tenn

Chris Johnson 168 and 1 TD

Lendale 149 and 3 TDs

Against Carolina

Williams 123 and 2 TDs (and another catch for 25 yards and a TD)

Stewart 72 and 0 TDs

KC somehow held the Denver RBs in check

Against Atlanta:

Turner 104 and 3 TDs

Norwood 75 (and 30 yards receiving)

Against Oakland:

McFadden 164 and 1 TD

Bush 90 and 1 TD

Fargas 43 yards

- note the Raiders won this game with Russell completing only SIX PASSES!!!!

Against New England

Morris 50 yards and 1 TD (and 34 yards receiving)

Maroney 50 yards

My point is that other than NE and Denver, two teams who do not run the ball very well, at least two of the RBs going against the Chiefs' D have at least been decent starts.

If you look at Atlanta as the anomoly - arent all of these other teams not committed to a single RB no matter who the opponent is?

I'm playing him this weekend. With Coles and Cotchery both possibly being out and with the rumor of Favre having trouble throwing the ball deep right now, I think Thomas Jones and Leon Washington are both great plays.

Thanks for the great posts Mike and Bob. I feel a little better about Leon now. I am starting him as a bye week fill in. The only other option I have is Ricky Williams. The KC defense has just been horrible. There are a handful of teams that have routinely given up big points to mediocre backs this year. It has made for an interesting and sometimes frustrating season for people who drafted good talent. The Jets should be interesting this week. I just picked up Chansi Stuckey as insurance for my Cotchery play. It is not looking good for Coles either. Any thoughts on the Jets?

i was looking at playing him too this week over Edgerrin James (in a keeper league where i"ve been chasing RB's for years :lmao: )

Jamal Charles, LenDale White and Leon Washington..... not exactly a dream RB situation! (assuming I sit Cotchery also)

I've got to start three of CJ3, Lendale, Jacobs, Edge, and Leon Washington. I'm definitely starting both Titans RBs, as I think they'll both have big days against the bad Indy run D. Pitt has just been lights out against the run, so as hard as it is to sit Jacobs, I think it's the smart play. Edge v. Carolina isn't any better.

In response to Fly19382, my overall thoughts on the Jets are that they'll throw very little this week. Coles and Cotchery are banged up, Stuckey could be a decent play, but I really don't see a whole lot through the air. Perhaps Dustin Keller is the guy to have in the passing game this week if anyone is, as Franks is injured.

Funny, I've been thinking the same thing. I'm actually considering starting Leon over Deuce McAllister in a ppr league where we get return yardage.

I was looking at Leon as well. The Chiefs just let up so many yards on the ground and I think the Jets passing game will be hurting this week. Couple that with the fact that the Jets will probably jump to an early lead, and Washington looks like a very sneaky play this week.

If Plaxico somehow gets downgraded and FWP plays, Washington is playing for me.
