The Onion and CocoRosie Make Satire Non-Satirical (1 Viewer)

Recently, the Onion ran a thing about Trump, mocking the mood of the country by having a character on the street say, "sometimes you have to vote against your own interests in order to vote against somebody else's," as if that was patently obvious and stupid.

Well, reading about CocoRosie's response to Trump and their "female future," I feel like this sentiment isn't quite stupid, but actually quite tactically defensive.

What's the matter with Kansas? Well, they all hate Kansas. Why not vote against those who hate us more?

Please, less of these SUNY-Purchase idiots and more braggadocio wherever necessary.

I'm this close to liking this post. Can't explain.

I think sometimes I hit the sweet spot for the/us weirdos and we can all agree that dystopia can have many versions and many different tentacles in different areas of power?

Other than that, I don't know.

All I can speak is for myself: Please, I don't need SUNY-Purchase running my life. I also don't need Trump. But when it comes to what's worse? Argy bargy. I don't even think SUNY-Purchase knows what NATO is, much less its importance other than its usefulness in having Title IX's OCR being run by Hillary in office, which to me is also anathema.

It's so fragmented, and there's so much power out there, it gets confusing.

Ok, I read it.   Reminds me of why I hate poetry.    Probably a ####ty song as well.     Doesn't really explain or excuse voting for Trump though.

I think there's an "enemy of the enemy is my friend" vibe going on here, maybe, though I'm not sure you're wrong. Personally (yeah, who really cares?) I think I had a George Will-esque reaction to this election, except I never registered Republican. (Will publicly un-registered, and it became news, for those that read this and don't know.)

I don't know who CocoRosie is, but if she doesn't like "Point of Know Return" I don't want her running my life either.
CocoRosie is only known to me via my friend's polyamorous partner from Purchase whose friends often suffer various degrees of gender dysphoria and/or questioning.
