No first time playoff QB won yet (0-4).Sorry Rexy. Peppers is gunna bust you up. :banned:

I think Urlacher and Company will have something to say about that when Delhomme gets sacked another 8 times and picked a few times... :boxing:

Of course it won't - the Panthers aren't getting off that easy. Grossman is twice the QB that they faced the first time, and Moose isn't going to drop 4 passes.27-3, Bears.

That is a valid point, the rookies got creamed last week.
Sorry Rexy. Peppers is gunna bust you up.

:banned:
I'm thinking that Peppers is gonna get manhandled again, and will have little or no impact at all.

BTW - do the Panthers actually have any fans? Last time around, there were about 5 of them in Soldier Field, and I doubt there will be more in the first playoff game in this place.Delhomme had issues running the offense in that noise last time, and it sure isn't getting any quieter this time around.

What makes you think that?? Moose has been dropping them all year long, as a matter of fact, he has the most dropped passes on the team.

Well, maybe that part is a bit of wishful thinking, but the odds are still long for the fanless team that is on the road for the 4th time in 5 weeks. :D

Yeah, those road woes really killed them on the way to Superbowl two years ago...

Um, do you have a link to when Grossman suddenly became twice the quarterback? He must have won some playoff games or something, right?

It sure didn't help them on their first trip through Chicago this year, either. :)

He could be half the QB and still take out a pathetic offense that scores 3. :D

Your problem is you think Carolina will only put up 3 this week.Funny how you want to talk offense...Carolina is a better offense than the Bears.

The giants are a better offense than the Bears, and look what Carolina just did to them.

Funny how you want to ignore that we owned this offense. People, including yourself, said the same thing the first time around. The Panthers offense is better than the Bears, and their D is good too. They are a more balanced team, yadda yadda. Joke Delhomme was hurt and confused the entire game. And when the game was over, it was very apparant that the Bears D was so dominant that they can completely control that offense and the entire football game against them. And that hasn't changed.

The line of -3 is a complete joke for this game, and once again this disrespected Bears team is going to show everyone that they're missing the boat here.

I watched the first meeting, and Carolina laid an egg. Anybody that thinks that first meeting is representative of the Carolina you're seeing in the playoffs, is short-sighted. That's like judging the Broncos based on their opening loss to Miami. Teams don't play well EVERY week. However, Carolina has shown a propensity to perform well in the playoffs, and on the road, at that. The Bears still have to prove that (not that they won't, but experience here lies firmly in Carolina's corner), so save the "Grossman is twice the QB" crap until he proves it.

And the Bears played a big part in Carolina laying that egg. The 8 sack figure alone doesn't even adequately represent the amount of punishment that Delhomme received on that day. So save the "Carolina will crush the Bears" crap until they prove on the field they are capable of sustaining a drive against this team, let alone beating them.

I guess the :goodposting: to the initial post, which was titled "The Panthers Will Crush The Bears", meant something else.

I'm curious if anybody oustide of Chicago and Dan Pompei think Grossman can make a difference.IMHO, Chicago just aint that good. JMO, of course.

Yes, I want to ignore that you owned this offense in the regular season...because of the body of work the Carolina Panthers put forth...the same you want to ignore that the Browns put up how man points against that defense?Again, the game will not go exactly the same... or do you also think that Denver will easily handle the Patriots?

That was then...this is now. Statistically the Bears and Panthers defenses are so close it is silly.

Disrespected? No joke to it...no need to push a line higher than that for a team with a limited offense going against a team that just shut out a much better offense.

You want to ignore that the Bears owned this offense. The Bears have allowed over 9 points scored at home only ONCE this season. 1 out of 8. Ignore that. What does the Pats/Denver game have anything to do with the Bears owning the Panthers? What the heck kind of logic is that?

You smell like a bitter Packers fan.

What does the Pats Denver game mean? Simple...you all seem to think because you sacked Delhomme 8 times and forced the turnovers in the first game during the "regular season" that it means the same will happen in the "playoffs". Just as Denver easily handled NE in the regular season, but the playoffs are a different beast.Though I do not expect Bears fans to be too keen on what happens in the playoffs given how infrequently they have been there over the past 20 years.

Fellow bears fans: Just relax and enjoy this game. Seriously, I am so tired of arguing for the Bears. These people that are arguing against us don't see each and every game. For Sonny Lubick doll or whatever your name is: Grossman IS twice the Qb orton is. Ask anybody that watches the games or knows football. The numbers don't show it, but the way the offense moves does. No, he is not peyton Manning, but he is that much better than orton. carolina is playing great right now. They are going to be tough to beat. IF the bears play D like they have been playing most of the year and the offense doesn't turn it over multiple times, the bears will win the game. That simple. We shall see

I feel bad for Carolina having to play at soldier field. :X Foster is going to get hammered. The only way Chicago can lose is Steve Smith. This guy needs to be hit low, tripped and strangled all day long. :football:

WINNAH? Of what? The I cannot face the reality that the Bears are not as good as you homers think award?Keep thinking it will be just like last time and be that confident...it only makes it more sweet when they lose.

If we get the Bears D that showed up against Carolina the first time or Atlanta later in the season it will be a long day for the Panthers. Those games showed that the Bears D can absolutely dominate a game and make teams throw their game plan in the trash. If the Bears D that played against Green Bay when they clinched the division shows up the Bears could have a long day. My expectations is that the Bears fly around like mad men for the first quarter or two and the outcome of the game revolves around how Jake handles the pressure.Carolina is peaking at the right time and looked really good last weekend, but let's remember that the G'ints were down 6 defensive starters which certanly helped Foster go off. Mike Brown is back in his saftey spot for the Bears and overall their D is pretty healthy which will help when it comes to keeping Foster off his game. Lastly, Carolina is going to be playing it's 2nd road game in a row and while the Bears do have an untested QB who could very well give the game away I like the fact that it's really hard to win on the road in the playoffs and even harder to win 2 straight on the road in the playoffs.I hope I'm wrong but my gut tells me Car: 17 Chi: 13

Not bitter at all.The defense is good...so is Carolinas.

Their offense has been consistently bad...Carolina's has not.

 Seems like the same story you were telling the first time. But there's only one thing that will matter, just like last time - to beat this Bears D, you need to be able to run right at them like Pittsburgh did. They won't be able to run to the sides like Foster enjoys, the D is too fast and Urlacher will run him down all day long. Carolina isn't capable of running right at them and will be one dimensional as a result. And whenever you drop your QB against this D, you are asking for pain and trouble. Carolina does not match up against this team worth a damn, and the outcome will be the same this time.

Facts make you sleepy huh?Yup...but as I said, if you think it will happen just as it did the first time, you are seriously one naive homer.

Carolina can't do that? Thats pretty funny...as that is exactly what they just did to the Giants.

and the Panthers have as many sacks as the Bears...and are better against the run...so basically the same can be said about the Bears.

I think they match up very well against the Bears...the strength of the Bears offense is the run game...falling right into the strength of the Carolina defense. Their weakness on D is coincides with the Bears weakness on offense.

They match up quite well category for category and even player for player. Your problem is you are using the first game against the Panthers as your one measure...it simply is not the same way this Panther team has played all season.

The Bears are a tad better than a banged up Giants D, nice try.Going to be a long and bitter offseason for ya. :D

That they are...does not mean the Panthers "can't do it" though.No...should be a very exciting off-season. New coaching staff, about $20 million in cap space for the team to play around with...Walker rehab going well...good high draft pick coming up.

And no reason to be bitter. Though I guess you think the Bears doing better once in a blue moon makes a Packer fan bitter...thats pretty funny....I guess 20 years of bitterness has gotten to you.

The Pack has had a great run with Favre, and, untill this year, have dominated the Bears as long as Farve has been playing for them. Now that Farve is in his decline, and possibly may not return, welcom back to the bottom of the division, where the Packers were comfortable at , for 22 years before Farve saved them.

Green Bay won the division 9 times finished 2nd another 8 times.

Again...no need for me to be bitter.

Might want to look up chief... :lmao:

This game, as most do, will come down to turnovers. In the first meeting, the 2 Delhomme int's resulted in a whopping 8 yard drive (TD) and a 3 yard drive (FG). Eliminate those and it was a 3-3 game. These two teams are very evenly matched. Whoever turns the ball over more this game loses.

Not very good at math, are ya skippy? Packers finished in last 7 times over that span. 70, 71, 75, 76, 80, 88, 90

The Bears finished last 7 times, the same span. 70, 72, 73, 74, 75, 81, 82

The Bears won the division 6 times - 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90

The Packers won 3 times - 72, 78, 82

ETA:

Bears had 174 wins over that span

Packers had 132 wins over that span

Bears had 153 losses over that span

Packers had 188 losses over that span

Bears had 14 playoff games over that span

Packers had 3 playoff games over that span

Bears had 5 playoff wins over that span

Packers had 1 playoff win over that span

I actually did not stop at life before Favre...I went on to the current time.Packers were last in 71, 75, 76, 80, and 88

90...last yes...but also tied for 2nd as 4 teams finished at 6-10 that year.

Point being...just saying life without Favre will make the team suck is a bit out there.

And why stop at when Favre got there? Because it drops the Bears down a notch and pushes the Packers way up there. That would be like stopping at 83 when speaking of the Bears.

Then you have a problem with reading too, don't ya? The point in dropping Favre out is to show that your organization sucked before him, and will more likely than not suck after him. It's not way out there, because without him they didn't do a thing for 22 years. It's essentially the same logic you are using to suggest a very young Bears team will have trouble winning again next season.

And hence the reason for your bitterness.
