I dont understand why the NFL even asked the Eagles players to show up. It clearly didnt matter that a game was going on, the NFL was far too concerned with advancing the Saints to the SuperBowl.

It's not fair that the NFL makes the Eagles punt on 4th down. Most teams have an opportunity to go for it.

Also, can we get a mod in here?

did they ask westbrook and stallworth to drop a few passes?

Maybe this just makes up for all those favorable calls the Eagles got the 4 straight years prior to last.

What goes around comes around and it all evens out.

I watched the whole game and I didn't feel this at all. Care to explain on what blatantly bad calls helped the Saints win. If anyone was on the take, I would start with the Philly D-lineman who could not stop McAllister all game.

Yes, the Eagles lost because of those passes. If the Eagles would have made those catches they would have won:thumbdown:

I'm with DD on this one. The Eagles were whistled for 6 flags for only 39 yards. Hardly an injustice. One was the Garcia pass ahead of the LOS. Another was a five yarder on a punt. One was the false start which was a false start. I don't see the screw job here.

The Screw-Job here is that the Eagles don't get the refs on their side like they have the last few years.

You need to put on your blind eagle homerism glasses!

Diehard Eagles fan here...

I thought the refs were mostly letting them play. The illegal contact call on what would have been 3rd and 30 for Saints hurt, but I didn't see anything that would point to refs handing Saints the game.

I also thought they were slow on the holding penalties (there were some huge obvious ones on the line against the blitzes Eagles were bringing), but that was for both sides...it just showed more when Saints had the ball because the Eagles blitzed more.

All in all, it was a decently officiated game. If any robbery occurred, it was in the scheduling making Philly play on the short week after playing the last game of last weekend. But that's why the bye is so important, and N.O. earned that bye.

Good luck to Saints the rest of the way!

same can be said if the calls you complain about were never called. There's no guarantee they would have led to a score for the eagles. back at you.

I can't tell if they are kidding or just in "super whiny tool" mode.

It serves all of you right for taking pleasure in the Cowboys loss last week. ;)

They always tell you to get on the ball and secure possession but it would have been nice if Gaither could have scooped up the ball on Bush's fumble. The next 6 guys to come into the frame were all Eagles.

This is one of the side effects of the NFL not cleaning up its mess after Super Bowl XL. If people want to blame the officiating, at this point, let em. Fans should get concerned about the quality of officiating, since its evident the NFL doesn't. Maybe if fans make enough stink about it, the NFL will make some changes to improve the officiating. They should be full time and earn more money.

You've got a sport raking in billions and you pay the refs as little as $25k?

I agree with you regarding Pittsburgh vs. Seattle in the Bowl but do you really think the officiating was that bad in this game?

Not only are posters making ridiculous accusations here, but they're providing no "evidence" of them. Beyond that, there's several threads on the first page addressing the same thing. I just want someone to at least merge them into one useless thread so that things like Biabreakable's dynasty polls don't fall off the first page so quickly. I'm sorry if I don't see the value in more than one venting thread.

I didn't see a single incorrect call in the game. Did you?
Put your freaking politics aside, WAKE UP, and realise we are making a choice here that will have grave consequences if we get it wrong.
Yeah, unfortunately we already made the wrong choice, in November 2000.

I didn't say the officiating was bad in this game. I didn't watch most of it.I'm saying something seriously needs to be done to improve the quality of officiating in the NFL. So I don't mind people getting upset about this game.

Stop your whining! Don't you have to go throw snowballs at Santa Claus or something?Oh, nevermind. Carry on.
:lmao: Wasn't whining. Was pointing out that the refs had some tendencies in this game that worked against the Eagles. BUT...was also pointing out that they were consistant in those tendencies. The refs all in all, by todays officiating standards, were good.

:pickle: JAA, you crack me up! If the "screw-job" was on, the hail mary to Colston would've been a TD.
No doubt. I thought the ball came out after he landed in the endzone. I'm surprised it wasn't even reviewed. Anyways, all the whiners need to :pickle: and move on.Or you can stick around this thread a little longer and get :lmao:

Think for a moment about the cost to the league if it were ever learned that there was a league-mandated officiating conspiracy to help certain teams advance. It would destroy the credibility of the league and pretty much ruin its multi-billion dollar business. And you seriously believe they'd risk all that for the little bit of extra P.R. you think they'd get if the Saints advanced instead of the Eagles? I'm sorry your team lost, but try to come back to reality and keep a little perspective of the bigger picture.

If there were any bad calls, they were innocent and well-intended just like in any other game.

did they even review the hail mary pass at the end of the 1st half? replay they showed later on made it look like Colston might have come down with the ball.

Some big calls that shouldnt have been called. I thought it was me at first but obiviously the announcers even noticed.

What did you expect though honestly? The New Orlean Katrinas are going to the super bowl.
