The Phillies suck the most! (1 Viewer)

Unlucky

Phenom
From this article:

In fact, no team has ever stunk so often as the Phillies, who, according to the Elias Sports Bureau, have lost more games than any professional franchise in any sport. The Phillies are 14 losses from a particular threshold of ignominy — the 10,000th defeat for a club that has won one lonely World Series title (in 1980) during its 125 years of often dreadful existence.
Ha Ha!

Not every team in the league has been around that long.... Who cares how many total losses they have?

seriously. the phillies are sad, but let me know when you no longer are in the midst of 15 consecutive losing seasons.

The tragedy in this is how ESPN is making it sound like the Philles have lost 10,000 in a row.

And I love how they show the other league's loss leaders, and how much less the numbers are. OOOOoooooo.

Could it be that baseball plays 162 games a year??

Edit to add that I thought it was great to see the signs in the crowd, embracing the 10,000 mark. Great job to the fans in Philly.

I didn't really get that feeling. They put up a graphic that in the 20s, 30's and 40's they had losing seasons in 30 of 31 years, indicating that a lot of this losing was done a long, long time ago.
