In 6 years, LT has over 2000 carries, over 9100 yards, 100 TDs (including double-digit TDs every year), 398 receptions for 2900 yards with 11 TDs. He's had 5 straight top 5 finishes, including the greatest fantasy season for a RB ever IMO. During that span, he hasn't suffered any major injuries and has only missed 1 game :) He will be 28 years old this year and seems to be good for a few more years. However, when is the time to deal him? I asked this back in the fall and am still not sure of the answer. Would you trade him now while his value is at the highest, deal him after the season or ride the train until the wheels fall off?

Feel free to add any comments...

Anybody else here think AJ's reluctance to deal Turner is an indication that he's worried about LT's workload as well?

Maybe I'm wrong and LT is one of those once-in-a-generation freaks like Emmitt.

I said keep him but it would depend on what they are offering. If you could get a Herschel Walker type deal I would take it.

The reason, I say keep him is if you have him on the roster and even so so talent everywhere else you still have a shot at a championship. I have been in a Dynasty league for awhile now and several guys keep "reloading" every year and so they never win the championship....but hey there is always next year

I'd put feelers out now and definitely look to move him for $1.25 on the dollar after next year. It might be a little early but as Branch Rickey said, "I'd rather trade a player a year to early rather than a year too late."

I'd look to trade him after this season. Would trade him now if the deal was good enough but I wouldn't be actively shopping him.

It all really depends on your team. If you have a good supporting cast and a good mix of young talent in all your key positions then there's no reason to trade him if he will put up those montrous numbers. You can't wait a 3 years to trade him then and get a great value for him still.

Otherwise I would say to trade him either this year or at the end of this year. Working on memory he has touched the ball at a crazy pace for his career and can be devastating to a RB's longevity. He's still in his prime but nearing the end of it. If you don't have a good supporting cast then I say trade him this instant and get a great value for him in return.

If your trade is anything but spectacular, hold onto him.

I voted to keep him forever. The man stays in peak physical condition year round. He is a true stud who should have quality FF stats for another 4 years or so. Think Curtis Martin.

Good point...changing my vote to ride him 1 more year and sell.

As long as he does not get seriously injured this year, I am planning on keeping him for at least 2 years.

For whom would you trade him? Manning(the best QB)? No. Harrison, Smith or Owens? No. A bevy of picks? No.

There is no one now comparable to trade for him.

I would not trade him for SA or LJ. Maybe Steven Jackson(along with other considerations of course), but I much more confident in the Chargers for 2007-2008 than I am the Rams.

It would take multiple things. I would need a top RB in return as well as other commodities...

Every player is for sale. Its just a matter of asking price. Right now, my price on LT is so high that no one can match it. So he stays on my team. Now if I were to lower it, then someone may pony up and take him. Thats the way it works.

Why would I lower it? His age, his line, etc. Right now he is the premier player in the league. So it would take at least two other top five players to get him from me.

The answer.

I think it depends on the make up of your dynasty team. My core players to go with LT are Palmer, Henry, Driver and Holt, so I would not trade him. If you are a contender or 1 or 2 players away from being a contender then hold LT and build are him. If you are in the rebuilding mode, I might trade him but it would be a high price.

I have tried to deal him the past two years. No one can offer anything close to fair, I will ride him till the wheels fall off, just because I don't think anyone will ever give what it's going to take to pry him from me.

I must say that I am surprised that over 50% have voted for keeping him. I thought that the highest category would be trading him after the season. I'm assuming that most think that he has the longevity of an Emmitt or Martin...interesting...
