The Shaun Alexander Trade Thread (1 Viewer)

Alexander owners: Are you selling or holding tight? What kind of offers have you received? What will it take to part ways with Alexander?

Everyone else: Are you looking to buy low? What are you willing to give up?

I have a deep RB bench and am looking to buy low so that by week 8 or 9, I can be starting both Alexander and LJ. Its a risk, but I am unsure how much to offer. I appreciate the input.

After watching Sunday's game I was so disappointed w/ his performance

I put him on the trading block. Once the injury broke I posted a trade offer retraction.

I guess it depends on the league. I have him in a keeper league and can afford to just sit tight.

But I would move him for a younger rb (ie- SJax for RonnieB) and a wr who can help me down the stretch.

Here is an update on my situation. Hope it helps. 10 team league 2 RB/2WR no flex.

I have been offered:

- Terry Glenn, Chad Pennington, and Shaun Alexader

for

- Chester Taylor, Frank Gore, and Coles

I am 90% sure I am gonna take this offer.

Its just an idea of whats going on in the busy SA market.

10 team redraft. I recieved SA, Morris, M.Harrison and gave Gore and FWP. We start 2 RB and 4 wr/te. I have T.Jones, L.Jordon, Benson, McAlister to go with SA and Morris. We start 4 WR's so heres my new lineup @ WR. S.Smith, Marvy, R.Moss, H.Ward, B.Edwards, Plax, Colston. Looking to trade a big name wr or package 2 lesser Wrs and an Rb for a stud RB or close to it. Looks like I'm gonna get McGahee for R.Moss and Plax as soon as the owner gets back from his honeymoon. Gamble? YEP!

in my 12 team PPR, start QB RB RB WR WR WR TE redraft, ive got somewhat of a weak team, and i am 1-2, so i needed help now!

i traded away: SA, maurice morris, chris henry

for: marvin harrison, corey dillon, laurence maroney

im hoping this will turn out well!

A week ago an owner in my league traded SA for Westbrook and J. Jones. No ppr. Westbrook was gimpy and Barber is right on Jones' heels. I didn't think the trade was horrible but felt the SA owner could have gotten much more from numerous owners. Crazy how things change so quickly.

I just offered a trade to the guy that owns SA:

I give - Deuce, D. Foster, DeAngelo Williams

he gives - SA, Tatum Bell, John Carney

12 team basic scoring league.

** Edit **

My offer just got rejected. His only other RB is Maurice Jones

I offered Jamaal Lewis and Mike Bell for him.

Doubt the owner takes the deal. His team name is Dallas Dreidels if that gives you any indication of what a hard bargain he drives.

I picked up Morris for then offered M. Morris & D. Mason for M. Harrison

He countered by offering Alexander & Harrison for Mason, R. Bush & Maroney.

My team as of now, (3-0):

QB: McNabb, Smith

RB: S. Jackson, C. Taylor, Bush, Maroney, Drew, Morris

WR: Chambers, Mason, Colston, Williamson

TE: Cooley

K: Wilkins

DEF: San Diego

His team (0-3):

QB: Plummer, Carr

RB: Alexander, J.Jones, A. Thomas, R. Dayne

WR: Harrison, Kennison, Branch, R. Smith

TE: Gonzalez, Wilcox

K: Kasay

DEF: Pittsburgh, St. Louis

I'm thinking about it.

Instead of seeing what everyone has offered it would be much cleaner if everyone just posted offers that have been accepted. That way we do not have to see what everyone is wishing and dreaming.

I would jump on this NOW. You're set at RB w/ Jackson and Taylor and get a HUGE upgrade at WR. Plus, Bush is overrated from a FF perspective, IMO.

Stupid, ignorant comment.
Stupid, ignorant comment coming from probably the only African-American Jew that you have ever corresponded with. Yes, I was adopted and grew up with white parents, but I never understood why we can make fun of eachother, and call eachother out, but the minute it seems someone outside of our social network does, we jump all over them like they are some kind of nazi. Same with the jokes comedians like Chapelle make about black people. If a white dude gave that same act, he would be shot and killed most likely. How about you quit with the PC BS? We're here to talk football and razz eachother. As a minority and a jew, I can tell you that what I said above is not offensive.

I wasn't involved, but could this was the Alexander trade in my league

Tom Brady, Willis McGahee, Tory Holt

for

Pennington, Alexander, Darrell Jackson, Joe Horn, and Jones-Drew.

Alexander and Morris owner here. I'm having a very hard time choosing between three options:

1. Give them both and Leinart (who I don't need) for Portis.

2. Give them both and Ward for the Bells and Steve Smith. (not officially offered yet)

3. Stand pat and wait it out (I'm 0-3!)

My thing with SA is that even if he comes back quickly, it hasn't been good so far, yes he has a good schedule remaining, but what about next year in a keeper league and the year after that? The guy hits 30 next season.....at some point all of us Shaun owners have to bail out while we still can. Portis is a younger elite back who could be kept for years.

My ten team, PPR league I offered;

D Foster & L. Coles for SA.

This owner also has Gore and W. Dunn as his other runners so he might nibble on this trade. I am loaded with RB's (LT2, C. Taylor, Foster & R. Bush) so I can afford to sit on a player like SA and let him heal up.

I will post in here again after he accepts or rejects this trade offer.

If he accepts he should admit himself to the nearest hospital.

Trade complete.

I have been offered this by the SA owner in my 14 team league:

SA

Roethlisberger

for

Favre

Reggie Bush

As of right now I have turned this down but he says it is a standing offer. Our league is PPR and we start QB/2RB/3WR/TE/Flex (any offensive position). He refuses to upgrade Roeth to Leftwich, and I don't want my starting QBs to be Pennington, Kitna, and Roeth. For reference, my backup RBs are Droughns and Michael Robinson (plus Michael Turner).

Just after news of the injury broke I was offered SA and Crumpler for Lamont and Gates. I've been offering Lamont to EVERYONE in my league since wk 1 so I took the offer. I also have Thomas Jones and snagged Mo Morris off the waiver wire. Hated to give up on Gates but it's a redraft so he was expendable.

Non PPR redraft league with distance TD scoring.

I offered Bush, Barber and his choice of Coles/Jennings/Branch/Galloway/Watson for SA and whatever

or

Holt or SSmith for SA and Morris.

Gates isn't much of a loss and you got rid of Lamont. Good job.

 Now that is funny stuff, if what you say is true. I would never type it, but thanks for the humor and humble approach!

I offered Tiki straight up for SA at 9am this morning. We work in the same place place and he has been thinking about it since (3 hours). I'd say it is real 50-50 proposition.

Standard scoring. no ppr, he is 1-2 and I am 3-0. I think the extra week of availability will be a big factor for him if he decides to take it.

Wow, I would revoke that if I were you. SA could be out a lot longer than 1 week, and Tiki has been up there with SA for the last few years.

SA is going to be out at least two, bye in week 5. I think he will be back in week 6 but I really only NEED him from week 8 on. In any case, I think there is a large disparity in the schedule favoring SA

Just traded Culpepper, J Lewis and Hines Ward for SA.

All of them were backups on my team, so needless to say that I'm pretty stoked. Now I just need him to rest and be healthy for the 2nd half of the season.

To quote the near end in the classic 80's movie "Trading Places" Sell, Sell, Sell, Sell!!!

If you can find an owner convinced that he will come back in a week or two and can get good value for him...I move him.

My offer of SA and Boldin for Westie and Ward just got accepted. I also have Portis and LT, so SA can sit until he's 100%. I actually need Boldin more than I need SA.

Oh, and I'm 3-0 and leading in points...

I haven't been offered a damned thing.

At 3-0 my division sure ain't gonna help me. Looks like the rest of the league feels the same.

If FWP wasn't on bye, I wouldn't even worry. Unless it's a great trade offer, I'm holding tight.

With that lineup you'd better be. :football:

As promised, here are the results of my trade offer.
Your trade offer to Gravy Train has been rejected.
:sadbanana:I guess the guy I offered the trade to believes in the power of prayer too.

I traded SA, Bruce, and Desmond Clark for Tater, CJ, and Winslow. 10-team redraft.

I like the trade even if SA were playing this week. He looks bad this year.

that was a terrible offer.

Thought about it for a while but finally pulled the trigger

Traded: Chester Taylor, Ahman Green, Terry Glenn

For: Shaun Alexander, Maurice Morris, Travis Taylor

Q: P.Manning, Pennington

R: Westbrook, SAlexander, MMorris, LWashington, MSmith

W: DMason, MMuhammad, TTaylor, MFurrey, DBranch

T: Winslow

K: Stover

D: Tampa Bay, Carolina

Start 1-2 RB, 2-3 WR, 1-2 TE

Green was only going to see my lineup on a bye week. It is a redraft league, 1PPR. I'm at 3-0 right now so have a good record to wait for SA to heal and like the combo of Manning/SA/Westy when the playoffs roll around.

Hopefully Penny keeps it up and I can upgrade at WR by trading him.

As a Jewish person, I find that comment totally and utterly.......hilarious.

I dealt SA/Morris, Leinart, and Williamson for Portis, Andre Johnson, and Anthony Thomas.

If you're in a keeper league, like I am, I think that is pure gold. Name a rb better than Portis will be over the next 5 years that you would be able to get for SA at a later date (say when he's 30).

So I guess the SA owner in my league is feeling that SA is tradable now after he rejected my original offer. he is now offering Gravy Shaun Alexander and

Randy Moss for Anquan Boldin, Laveranues Coles and DeShaun

Foster.

I am mulling it over seeing how I already have LT2, Reggie Bush and Chester Taylor in my backfield. Boldin and Coles may be a bit steep and I would still have to fill one more WR spot.

Edited to add: After looking over the trade a bit closer I am starting to like this offer. Seeing how Foster, Coles and Boldin all have week 9 bye weeks and moss is coming off his and SA is going to be out in week 5 already because of the injury, this could help out. Also, I am just trying to get my head around if I had both tomlinson and Alexander running on the same team.
