The Slaton Train..... All Aboard! (1 Viewer)

I wish I could disagree, but Slaton's set up for a pretty good week. Somehow, the Colts' defense seems to be able to stop power backs like Larry Johnson and Jamal Lewis, but they've had big troubles with speed RB's. The Colts' only hope is to get a big lead early and prevent the running game from getting started.

Rumor has it that Ahman Green is going to get some serious burn....possibly as a starter. For some reason, Gary Kubz has a hard-on for ole boy..

Ahman Green is likely to return to the Texans' lineup Sunday, but Steve Slaton will remain the starter -- as expected."(Slaton) is a hard guy to get off the field right now," coach Gary Kubiak said. "We thought we were going to split time with him and Chris (Taylor), but he won’t come off the field and that’s a good thing. So he’ll do whatever he feels like he can handle, and then Ahman will take the rest of it."

Green's days are done.

You guys are on the afternoon train - the early bird train left the station a couple of weeks ago with quite a few passengers.

I can see Green taking 10 carries this weekend, maybe a TD for the Green machine :IBTL:

i guess a lot of peeps still don't know who slaton is cause my trade just got vetoed where i tried to trade him housh and pennington for p.manning and welker....... i guess they don't realize he has done so good lately against tough defenses and his upcoming schedule is a joke......the beauty of him is he is a sweet reciever out of the backfield so basically he can't be stopped........however CJ3>>>slaton cause he seems to be getting goal line carries now ;)

I HATE these threads. My guy always disappoints when the fanboys throw out crazy predictions. I'll be happy with 90 total yards and a TD - 15 fantasy points.

Nice job, my guy always disappoints when someone lowers his expectations of what should be a huge game. I sure do wish what people posted here didnt affect a players performance.

ME TOO! It's amazing how much power you all have to jinx MY players. :pickle:

I'm so deep into the Slaton train, I traded away 2 SOLID RB's for a better RB1. I'll be relying on him to produce EVERY week and I just pinned my fantasy season it.

Grab your ticket now!

Prediction:

133 and 2 TDs
I sense the train getting derailed.
Slaton was a steal for me. 9th pick in a start 3 rb league. My other rb's are below. Slaton may well end up a top 5 rb in most leagues, especially ppr leagues.I disagree with the bolded above statement. "Westbrookesque" is a more accurate statement. Houston has already had their bye week due to IKE and Slaton is still in the top 10 of most all ff formats.

I know there are threads about Ryan Torain, my advice, find a spot on your bench for him

Another thing, has anyone looked at Buffalo's schedule ? They are a playoff team, Maybe more ? In TD only leagues, James Hardy might be available and could be huge ?

Good luck to everyone this weekend. I love this game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Slayton, especially this week against Indy. I think they will take advantage of this matchup. He will also be active in the passing game. I think 150 total yards and a td sound good.

I'll say 75 total and a td for today, anything else is gravy
How do the projections change with Schaub being out and Rosey playing?
I don't think they do. Schaub and Rosey are about equal QB's. some even say Sage is better.
Maybe in the long run... but Schaub was the # 1 QB all week and didn't get sick until last night. So I doubt if Rosey had many (if any) 1st team snaps in practice...

Sage knows the offense. He ran it for half of last year and did very well.

Remember Wali Lundy - Vernand Morency and all those Texans young RB's that were overhyped , no one will rememeber Slaton's name in 2 years .

So slow down the bandwagon.

Steve Slaton....Woo woo :lmao:

I'm glad I picked him up a few weeks ago, knowing that A Green wouldn't hold up

I rule. :lmao:

Actually, they both looked pretty good in the first half. Then Green started to get arm tackled a bit, and Slaton is just flat out MUCH faster. It will be RBBC for a bit but I think Slaton gets the edge. Which is fine, teams won't really get to gameplan for him. This is coming from a Slaton owner, where Green is on someone else's bench. I'll still be starting him every week.

Anyone actually watch the game? How did Slaton look? How did Green look?
I didn't think Slaton was doing well in the first half; he seemed hesitant and a bit slow, which was out of character from what I've seen so far from him. Conversely, Green looked good and ran with a bit more authority. As a Slaton fan/owner, I admit I was a bit worried. However, Slaton really picked it up in the second half, showing more burst and trusting in his vision, making intelligent cuts, and fighting for extra yards. Green was very quiet in the second half. I don't know what Slaton did adjustment wise, but I liked that he came out and said the job was his to lose.

the announcer made an interesting statement. he said kubiak wants to limit him to 20 touches/gm. then he mentioned a strict touch count, but i think that part was BS.

i think he runs pretty hard and is quick. looks like an above average rb. he certainly doesn't look small.

You also have to like that they brought Slaton in at the goal although Green had moved them down the field. I gambled and started him over MJD this week :excited:

Played Slaton and AP, sat LT and then sold him during the game. Nice to be right once in awhile.

Swamp

Slaton wouldn't have nearly as many yards and TDs if it wasn't for his FB Vonta Leach and Owen Daniels' blocks to seal the corner. Those two are major contributors to Slaton's emergence. Vonta Leach may be the best blocking FB in the league. The dude deserves a trip to Hawaii if he keeps this up.

After 3 great weeks in a row....are you guys selling high? Houston has 2 great matchups coming up next, but I think Green starts to eat a bit into his touches.

Im certainly not. He just started an easy stretch of games, plus unlike alot of people on this board, i think Slaton is a good RB. I am especially not worried about Green, he may get a few carries, but Slaton is clearly better.

I'm not actively shopping him, plus it would have to be a decent offer since I could use Slaton to get me through the byes.

I'm going to try to trade Slaton for Ronnie Brown after Slaton's 4 game homestand, unless he just absolutely goes nuts.. but status quo.. and I want Ronnie.
