When I saw the video I thought it was hilarious. My wife thinks it's mean, and some social justice warriors say it was misogynistic. What do y'all think.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_a_pxcoFAvQ

They offered the sorority tickets to the next game to make up for it. They were turned down and asked to be given to a non-profit for victims of domestic abuse.

The announcers were both funny and making a statement.

Nothing misogynistic about it.

I showed my wife the video a couple of nights ago and she thought it was hilarious. She also said something about the girls looking stupid.

Was the statement baseball is boring?

I'll take the tickets.

I feel abused having to have witnessed that.

Dumb for multiple reasons.

1) Lots of stories coming out that there was actually some kind of selfie contest going on in the stadium that they had just announced on the intercom between innings.

2) It was all of what, 42 seconds. OMG they're not living life! Now please excuse me while I go back to two hours of browsing my favorite online fantasy football forum.

3) The game wasn't even going on at the time anyway, hence the camera being pointed towards them instead of the game.

4) Who the hell cares?

I don't think I've ever taken a selfie in my life but the obsession some people have with making fun of people taking selfies seems just as unhealthy as the people obsessed with taking selfies.

That's what was funny. The announcers made reference to the contest. It wasnt until the d backs hit a single and they flashed back and they were still doing it and the announcer said , and no one cares that had me

Your obsession with people's obsession of making fun of people taking selfies is unhealthy.

ha! ha! Let's have a selfie contest during the game. First one to get a foul ball in the face wins!

That contest was clearly not going on between innings as they kept going back to the game.

I am willing to accept that.

I'll wait to cast judgement until I see if there's any captions by the girls about their usage of hot dogs (presumably foot longs) as a prop. If there's any commentary about the hot dogs from the chicks including but not limited to:

"how long it's been since I've had any meat",

"sharing a foot long with my sister",

"taking 12 inches to the face and loving it"

then I'll need to see more pictures....presumably from another sorority event ( sleepover, spring break weekend, bra and panty fight) etc. etc.

Funny & harmless. I'm sure there's tons of outrage though. To call it misogynistic is about as absurd as it gets.

I don't take selfies either, but I am not 20 years old. They just come off as old out of touch men yelling get off my lawn.

Umm...the game was going on if you watch the video, still pretty harmless and not worth an uproar

So let me get this right...

Chick's take selfies of themselves at a game to share with the world for attention and reactions and these announcers give them ALL the attention and reactions they could possibly get and they are pissed off?

#3 is a good indication of why I hate watching baseball on TV. There isn't enough going on to keep me interested.

Why do girls have to make that extreme pucker face when taking selfies? Is that supposed to be sexy?

Baseball is boring now (see the 1-0 score). I don't blame the girls.

I don't think the announcers were mean or funny. They just sounded like corny, out of touch old guys.

I've seen the phenomenon a lot -- guys have sat in the booth for 160 games, these's no one in the stands, they couldn't be more bored. They jump at the chance to talk about something, anything other than baseball. They're tired and punchy and just say whatever pops into their heads. In this case the director could've been in their headsets telling them to tone it down, and he could've stopped going back to that camera after every pitch. But clearly he thought it was funny too and milked it. And it was funny, and totally harmless. There's nothing to see here. I don't think the girls should even be embarrassed about it either, except maybe a couple of them put on more than the freshman 15.

####ing hilarious. I was at a game last weekend, and there were two girls sitting in front of us, maybe 12 or 13, on their phones probably 90% of the time. Texting, facetiming boys, selfies, etc.

I think it started out that people were being ironic. Now they do it for reals.

I was more than a little disappointed in the quality of these chicks. I mean they are young, and that's a good thing, but overall not one single chick above a seven in the group.

Not a positive outlook for any improvement either, given how they were shoveling junk food down their gullets. Would happily plow any & all though.

So the girls thought that their selfies were more interesting than the game? I'd say history has proven them correct on that.
