Antowain Smith a Texan

The Houston Texans added Antowain Smith.

Hardly the running back that the Texan fans were expecting to see in a Houston uniform this season.

I think Morency will be 3rd with Smith the short yardage guy. Smith was not that bad on a terrible NO team last year.

If Davis goes down, I can see Morency getting as many carries. As long as Davis is healthy, I don't see Morency hitting the field (Smith will see short yardage action).

Just a random thought - DEN tried out Dayne & A Thomas before last season as guys they wanted to bolster their backfields. They obviously went with Dayne but gave both a good look.

Now Kubiak moves over to HOU, and suddenly A Thomas appears. Not saying it will amount to anything, but there is some past history & interest. Something to toss around on a dull day.

This is bad news for Wali Lundy. I like him as a deep sleeper there in Houston, but more competition is not what he needs.

Now Kubiak moves over to HOU, and suddenly A Thomas appears.  Not saying it will amount to anything, but there is some past history & interest.  Something to toss around on a dull day.

Kubiak seems to be bringing the Denver style running game to Houston. His quotes about the drafting of Lundy indicate that he wants to use a zone blocking scheme and that he thinks Lundy is a perfect fit for that type of system.

Uh, I think they signed Antowain Smith, not A Thomas. A Thomas is a Buffalo Bill.

The same player that played at OSU with T. Bell. The same player Kubiak has a fair amount of advanced scouting knowledge on, given the research done on Bell. The same V. Morency that some feel was and is a better player than T. Bell, who has done a decent job in the Denver one cut system. That V. Morency?

Folks might be writing him off a little too soon.
