In hindsight maybe my list could have been a little broader, it’s almost exclusively comedy or drama type shows.
For me, when I think of TV shows that matter it really focuses on dramas and sit coms. That is what I think of when I think of TV shows. There are some other type shows that fit the bill as "greatest" because of their uniqueness or concept or how much it was copied but by and large I stuck with the bread and butter of drama/sitcom for my list...........and I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
I had over 200 shows that I had to whittle down to 70. It was not easy.
I had lots of nostalgia that I had to cut but kept some important shows that were part of and shaped my youth and some of those shows to me are timeless and
would never see the lightnof day in today’s overly sensitive society.
There is also some serious heavyweights….and those made up the top 15-20 easy for me.
I stayed away from sports and documentaries and stuck with drama, sci fi, horror, historical, and lots of comedy. I also threw in some timeless game shows that are to this day constantly on.
What can't you do on TV these days due to today's overly sensitive society? Game of Thrones, Orange is the New Black, Family Guy, Euphoria, Borat/Bruno, the Kids in the Hall revival, Key and Peele, 30 Rock, SNL, South Park... tons of violence, sex, nudity, jokes about any topic (race, sexuality, disability, really anything).
